And to top that off, my dad left me when I was 2, keeps coming in and out of my life, thinking it's ok. It's not ok to make your kid think that you love them than leave 2 weeks later and for him to keep repeating.

Beautiful speech Ed. I've said this before, but nobody can make you feel like crap, make you feel bad without your permission. I knew a girl who had a very large, raised port wine stain over half of her face. Everybody would stare at her. Then one night I was in a pub and she was sat on the same table as me. We got talking, and after 5 minutes I didn't even notice it. She had such a brilliant, funny personality. In her case it couldn't be removed due to too much blood supply in it. But what a great lady.

I had leukemia when I was a little kid and I remember being stared at because I had lost all my hair. SOmeone once said to my mom "I'm sorry, but I think there is something wrong with your daughter." My mom got so angry. y dad had to pull her out of the store. I still had it when I went into 2nd grade. My friend and I wanted to have a playdate but the mom told my mom that "The condition that your daughter has might be contagious." No one wanted to hang out with me or talk to me. I told my mom and she told me not to let some people bring me down. She told me to not to be upset and to be me. People shouldn't care about what you look like. They should only care about your personality and how kind you are.

I had a bad time at school too, with bullying etc. Your teachers should be doing more to help you, but if they're anything like mine were, they probably don't care. You have gone through leukaemia, if you can get through that you're stronger than any of those people who you think hate you. They don't 'hate' you, they are just unsympathetic, thoughtless, ignorant people who think they are better than anybody else. But you know, karma is a bitch. One day their life won't be so great, and yours will be good. You reap what you sow, if you do something horrible to somebody, there's a payback. Don't think that nobody cares about you, life changes all the time, nothing lasts, happiness, sadness, good times, bad times, they are all temporary. You have the rest of your life ahead of you, to choose to do whatever you want. You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
As for so called 'school friends' those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter. Take care x

I had stuttering since i was a child but it didnt keep me from going ahead and do well in studies. Though im a doctor now but the journey wasnt easy and i cried many times in my life, my msg to all is that dnt give up.

i was a very, very, very weird child. very weird child
i had a port-wine stain birthmark on my face that I got lasered off when I was very young.
one day they forgot to put the anestheticon then ever since then I had a stutter, and I also had very , very big blue NHS glasses.
the thing that I found mo difficult about it was knowing what to say but not really being able to express it in the right way.
I did different speech terapies and stuff wich wasn't very successfull.
at a young age, and got very, very into rap music.
my dad bought me the Marshall Maters LP when I was 9 years old not knowing what was on it and let me listen to it
I learned every word of it back-to-front. it helped me get rid of the stutter .
stuttering is not a thing you have to be worried about at all, end even if you have quirks and weirdness you shouldn't be worried about that.
just be yourself because there's no one in the world that can be a better you than you, and if you try to be the cool kid from class, you'll end up being very boring

While I don't exactly studder, I find myself blanking quite often when I start talking and completely lose the words I wanted to say. It's freaking embarrassing for sure. I've certainly got my quirks too though and proud of em. I just learned that I'm more like Ed than I would have ever imagined. 😂 lol

He's a really great guy. I remember being a kid and seeing him appear with all the UK rap and grime artists and nobody seemed to treat him different then. Yeah, that encouraging, and uplifting speech sure did bring me down. I'm weeping buckets here after hearing how this man was able to view himself in a positive way, and be a great person. Wow. I wonder if I'll EVER stop these tears?
My disability is also stuttering, but I overcame it by trying to control my self and some sort of therapy... And I also love myself and I didn't even worry about it for a long time. Plus I'm weird a lot and I kinda like being weird; however, my parents were used to tell me to stop being weird/crazy. Of course, I have to stop being weird in a serious situation, but I make friends when I make weird stuff and laugh and do kind things (I was taught that way) and I got a new BFF. And I even made more friends.
When did I know my disability?
Just on March 14! I was in my car and I asked "Is stuttering my disability?" since in my ID I have a learning disability when I was little, then my dad replied, "That's why you take therapy!" and I felt special as I headed on to school, and I just noticed my stutters lessened, but I still have to be myself and I kinda made a quote that of course, most people know.
"Keep trying to figure trouble out, or else you might get into more trouble, face your weaknesses and fears, and MAKE WAY."
I am Kawaii, and this is my story.

Beautiful speech. ♥️ Thank you Ed. 😊 Being different and having to struggle gives us empathy to others. Kindness is the most important thing in this world. School can be a very bullying place for children who do not fall into the popular category. Perfection is overrated. I have always told my daughter to embrace who she is and it is ok to get things wrong. Life is a learning curve. Just be you!

I know how hard it is, God KNOWS I don't put myself out there a lot, but when it counts, it's good to communicate with others. You could start simple, like with people who you won't necessarily see everyday, a short conversation can really go a long way.

Despite my father hating rap music, it’s because of my father that I feel such a strong love for it. When I was a kid, he and I would go back and forth with tongue twisters. I loved playing that game. Rap gave me the opportunity to do that with music. Which is another thing my father gave to me. I wish I could tell him that now. Love you, dad. Rest easy. Your son is doing all right.
