@@peach7469 Not to mention the staff was originally meant to be a counter weight to support the ocean. So it weighs a crap ton. Apparently the dragon king didn't believe sun wu kong could carry it but wukong worked around by shrinking it instead

In the original Journey to the West story WuKong obtained the "staff" from the treasure vault of The Dragon Emperor of the Eastern Seas. The magical staff is capable of size shifting and served as a structural pillar to the treasure room and is said to weigh 17500 lbs and was originally used to calm the Eastern seas. After obtaining the staff, WuKong shrunk it down from its original giant pillar size to the size of a sawing needle so Wukong can tuck the shrunken staff behind his ear for ease of carriage.
Some of these bosses are inspired by 山海經 （Classic of Mountains and Seas)，kind of like an atlas and encyclopedia of mythic monsters and fairy in ancient China. The book is mythical itself as no one knows who wrote it.
This game has the potential to be one of the all time greats

As an ethnic Chinese, this game is really touching.
He used stories, religious and literary allusions in almost every scene.
From the dialogue inside, the timeline is a few hundred years after the happy ending of "Journey to the West".
From the screen, almost every boss is a character that has appeared in Journey to the West, and the statues and buildings on the screen are based on actual ancient monuments (that is, if you go to China, most of them can be seen), and the story is added to derive another layer of meaning.
I'm really looking forward to this game!
After watching that elegant dragon and the display of its fight, I'm in awe of the style of this game so far. I don't typically play these kinds of games, but I can't wait to give it a go.

The physics in this game with the boss variety is what impresses me the most. It might be a pain in the ass like other Dark Souls titles. Give a go to a Fromsoft game then when you start playing this you'll get the hang of dealing with rough bosses. Though you playing one will be nice change of pace from the horror games. Much love from India Hollow.

to be fare, guko has only saluted the same name of wukong(same in notation but pronunce as guko in japanese) and the monkey tail, What make dragon ball great is by Its own story. they are both hero in my childhood memory.

This game seems to have a lot of enemy variety (boss wise anyway) but the key is going to be how you fight them. It needs to feel unique each time and make you think tactically. If it feels repetitive with boss attacks or user strategy, the game will be much less enjoyable
There is no game out there with such details and graphics as this game has. The game play look so real and you will play this game again and again just to experience the graphics over and over again.

where the stick stand happens during the dragon fight. wukong's( jin gun bang ) stick can resize to whatever he wants. thats why he shrinks it and hides it in his ears when not using it.

I almost guarantee the reason for the delay is covid related and due to the fact they are having major complications with the ps4 version. There has never been a studio in existence who released standalone versions of their games on both next gen and previous gen consoles unless they just outright abandon that platform all together.
This game condenses traditional Chinese art and music. And the spirit of resistance, which is one of the core of ancient Chinese mythology.I don't know how far they'll go with the story, But it's worth looking forward to.

As a Chinese who knows the whole story“ journey to the west” very well， I have to confess that I cant recognize most of these monsters except the dragon guy， I thinks hes the 4th apprentice of Tangseng（master of wukong who is also the monk that went to India and then bring Buddhism back to Tang dynasty of China）. In the story the white dragon always transform himself into a white horse so he could be Tangseng' mount，and also hes the youngest son of East sea dragon King.

in Chinese its called 定海神针/Key Stand,Iron Rod or 如意金箍棒/monkey king bar from 东海龙王/"Dragon King of the Eastern Sea" ，later the bar was given to the Monkey King (孙悟空/WukongSun in Chinese or Goku in Japanese)
in the original "Journey To The West", MKB is described as a very heavy stick to be the mainstain of sea. Only Wukong can pick it up so easily
