  • The first 'shakedown cruise' of the season on the boat, as we head out into the lake for a slow run. Happy to see that there were only a couple of small issues that are easily taken care of.
    We were also glad to see that my Tiny Little Pussycat is back to his old self and happy with his live aboard experience again 🙂 As I've mentioned in the past, he is a wonderful part of our boating experience and his happiness is just as important as our own.

    Paul, I say keep on keeping on. You have enough content for anyone to watch for days. Shorts, don't tell a story. Compared to tv or other forms of entertainment, your channel is five out of five star rated. Entertaining, information, real world activity from the water! Thank you for sharing the adventures. BB

    OK…Have been a fan of yours for your last three boats. Look forward to your videos with great anticipation but your short videos are such teasers I usually pass on them. It like taking just one sip of your favorite beverage on a hot day, then putting the rest away for another day.😅 That said I fully recognize the time and effort in editing it takes to produce your quality 15 min + videos and enjoy and appreciate each one.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před rokem

      You are correct that it takes quite a bit of time to produce the longer videos, but I enjoy the creative process. That said, putting out the Short 'teaser' vids opens up my channel to those folks who might be interested in seeing more from the boating lifestyle, but hadn't had prior interactions with my long from videos. In that respect, they should help more folks find the same type of long videos that you enjoy.
      I guess it's a balance...

      Sorry to hear that! We're fortunate that when we bought this boat last year, our surveyor suggested new water pumps, which the seller was good enough to oblige. Plus, on launch day, one impeller was no good, so he also had both of those replaced.
      Fingers crossed, we shouldn't have to worry about those things for a few years - but I do have brand new spares aboard, just in case 👍

    I have a question. Do you ever sleep at anchor on the water. And if you do do you ever suffer from wave slamming against the chines keeping you awake? We had it on our maxum 1900 sc and also on our just bought 2001 cruisers yachts 3470. I love staying overnights at anchor but this sound ruins the sleep a lot. I did a test with some foam rigged up in the chine resesses. Helped a bit but not 100%. Any thoughts on that?

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před rokem +1

      Sadly, the last time we anchored out overnight was way back in 2012, aboard our (then) 400 Sedan Bridge. Unfortunately, that incident was as you described on your boat, with constant and loud slapping of waves on the chines which made for an uncomfortable night. I also looked at adding foam insulation to the inside of the hull, but determined that wasn't going to be fully effective.

I prefer the original videos which last 5 minutes or more. Country Girl and I, like your Sunday long cruise but she's not to fancy with the How To videos. Just my opinion, have a nice day. Hello, I have a 95 Sundancer 250 that was in really great condition. It has a brand new full camper canvas on it which I also love, however it really seems to make the carbon monoxide detector go off. So ever since my first ride with the boat I remove the large rear panel, the two rear sides, and center window isinglass. This has prevented it from going off again with the exception of when I'm doing some lengthy low speed docking, say if I'm really taking my time and very slowly loading it on its trailer. Does yours go off with all that canvas up?
    Nate!

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes, what you're experiencing is commonly referred to as 'the station wagon effect', where a low pressure area is created immediately behind the boat and heavy exhaust will be actually pulled back towards/inside the boat. To overcome this, we generally drive with at least the windshield vent window open, as well as the side and rear curtains opened up. Not sure how your canvas is configured, but our two side panels, as well as the rear one, can be zipped open, but still leaving the big screens in place. When we are going slow through the locks, the side curtains will be opened up completely to allow for line handling.
      Just be sure to provide good ventilation in the cockpit area and that will help to clear the air, so to speak 😉 Also, have the cabin door closed to prevent the exhaust from entering that space.

      @Natter20002 Před 10 měsíci

      @@BoatingWithBoogaboo thank you for the reply! Yes the cabin door I did keep shut. It had a red sticker saying to ensure door is secured while moving. And I couldn’t decide if Sea Ray meant secure it shut or secure (lock it )open. As the owners manual said to open front hatch and windows to try to prevent fumes from coming in.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 10 měsíci

      @Natter20002 Yes, secure the door either open or closed when underway. That's to prevent it from slamming if encountering sudden heavy seas - or if some brain dead passes you with a big wake 🤔

      As is usual on CZcams, folks see 10 minutes of our lives and instantly come to erroneous conclusions. In fact, that nickname goes all the way back to our very early days of boating together with our kids and is always said with affection and admiration.
      So, next time, perhaps think beyond the screen in front of you.
