- The Colt BOA was only made in limited numbers for a single year, then sold through a single distributor, making it probably the most elusive and desirable of the company's double-action revolvers.
Between 1950 and 2003, Colt delivered to wheel gun aficionados a series of seven now-classic "snake" guns: Cobra, Python, Diamondback, Viper, BOA, King Cobra, and Anaconda. Some of these were more popular and widespread, such as the Diamondback which was made in both .22LR and .38 Special, while some were less frequently encountered, such as the Anaconda which was made in .44 Mag and .45 Colt. For seekers of the seven serpents, however, a couple of these guns are almost impossible to find: the Viper, which was just a regular catalog item for Colt in 1977, and the BOA, which is even rarer. - Jak na to + styl
Wow, never even heard of this revolver until now.
I'm 51 & never heard of "Boas" 🐍. I recall Colt saying they put out King Cobra .357 models directly for the US 🚔, ccw users. 1980s. Pythons were more for casual shooters, collecting.
the bluing finish phenomenol... shes a beauty
Absolutely gorgeous revolver 🇺🇸🦅😎🤙🏻
What a beauty. Would have loved to EDC this gem.
The Boa would be a straight up "safe queen 👸 ". Lol. I've seen extremely rare & collector level hand guns in the 1990s 2000s 2010s. This Boa model would not be a carry gun. GunsAmerica once offered a cool NIB(unused) Smith & Wesson model 5946 blue steel 9x19mm prototype. It was a mix of a DA only 3rd gen pistol & a TSW match gun. The 9mm had a 1913 style frame(alloy) & 3 dot fixed Novak sights.

Gorgeous
Learned something new. Thank You.
Just picked up the 4.25 Python from Davidson Gallery with custom Engraving.. I would have to dip into my 401k retirement for this thing
Nice beautiful Revolver
CZ just bought Colt, I expect good things to come =)
Is that public knowledge? Has there been a press release? I think you're right about good things to come it is true.
I just looked it up from myself it seems to be true.
The new Colt revolvers suck. I hope CZ fixes the new Snake guns and makes them at least look like the older designs. The King Cobra especially, it doesn't even look close to an old one.
@@burmiester1what about them suck? New python is built better, new anaconda is built better, just because it doesn’t have the royal blue Colt is known for doesn’t mean anything. Shoot better than the new production Hillary Hole Smiths that have Taurus level fit and finish now. They match Rugers heft but have a better action. Literally not any wheel guns in current production that come close.
If you want a King Cobra, buy an old one. New ones shoot just fine.
@@andrew3587 Oh you mean the new Pythons that had an ass load of issues from the factory? Them being better than Smiths doesn't do much for me, that is a very low bar.
The bluing is so beautiful.
I remember seeing these for sale on the back of the shotgun news.
Think they were around $400, I seriously thought about getting one but went to a gun show and got a beautiful older S&W model 27 for $325
I know you can’t argue taste but Colts looks so much better than S&W revolvers. Triggers are also so much better
Im seeing one on gunbroker right now going for over 30k already… Still 2 days of bidding left too. Holy cow
apperently i learned something new again here? lol i have a diamondback in 38Spcl so Im not sure what its worth but its prestine even though i shoot it from time to time but keep it spotless! What would one of the diamondbacks in 38 be worth these days in top condition? Oh its got a long barrel im thinking a 7" although i have never pulled out a tape mesaure on it? lol
Oh man im watching one on gunbroker going for more then the price of my Lexus already… Still bidding too!!
I love the gun ,it was my grandfathers so its not going anyplace but id still like ot know what it could be worth if i were to decide to part with it? yeah i have had it for quite a few years and didnt even fire it until ecently as i have a 38+P in my night stand with a 4" barrel lol. The Diamondback would be a bit too long to clear a house with if i have a choice! So it took a while before it made its way to the range. I love shooting it but dont want to scratch it either as it was my grandfathers and he kept it that way. I dont think my uncle ever really fired it much? He had it for even longer then me! So if you guys could let me know what the going rate is for one of the Diamonbacks in 38 i would be grateful? Im very curious to know?lol
That revolver is the true definition gun enthusiast euphoria
Cool
These were $525 in 1985 by the early 2000s people were asking for $12K.
Nice find - sure it costs an arm and leg

A mention of what it's chambered in would of been great!!??🤷
How much?
Wait, you said Python feels better then a Boa shooting? Have you actually shot the Boa? Please share the video. That I must see.
I will assume it is chambered for the .357 Magnum Cartridge.
Yes it is Joseph. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
Yes, it can be seen in the close up of the barrel where it clearly says "BOA .357 .357 Magnum CTG".
Diamondback??
