I've ordered many locomotives and train cars from them, and they've always done me well. I will probably always keep buying from them, and I live in California.
I Allen been there at Trainworld 8 times and bought so many trains, and bought from them since early 2015 and still do enjoy buying what I love. Thanks James
these guys are great they are people that still care I have asked them so many technical questions and they hit it on the nose every time they care after they take your money that's rare do that in other hobbie stores and you get the attitude of your tuff luck keep it up guys you deserve success
I didn't realize how vast your warehouse was, I have bought quite a few Lionel locomotives and accessories from Train World over the past few years the service is excellent, and even from here in the UK I know my goods will be dispatched and received within two weeks brilliant. Keep up the good work.
Is this the same store that a couple of guys on g+ where complaining about them selling a defective locomotive,he sent it back, and they wanted to charge him a restocking fee? (this is not a statement,it is a question.)
Mark Turner I do believe so. That situation seemed a little weird to me since that policy doesn't apply to defective products, and Walthers would have repaired or replaced them.
Northwest Railfan its all good. I should hope so,i love to see another that keeps up with the modelers currenet events.(you know exactly what I was reffering to) You can always hear horror storys when dealing with companys, but ya never know what the truth is. Not to call either a lie.
Their store is in a really rough neighborhood and the last time I ordered something from them (TTX Kato well car set) they smashed the model box to fit in an undersized UPS box. Ended up waiting 3 weeks for a replacement.
Fellow New Yorker here. Great store , service, selection. Cant go wrong with Train World. It is too bad about the neighborhood though. Would shop and wonder if I’d return to find my car in one piece. Or two or three. Hahahhahaha. I still make the trip from upstate. Plus where else can you get a great slice of Pizza and a Black and White cookie.
Good photography, it makes the retail store look WAY bigger than it is in real life. I know they own a lot of the entire block for the stockroom, but the retail store is very small. I was seriously disappointed at their retail store when I saw it in 2015...
Actually I was a little disappointed on my last visit. One because it seemed like the Lionel and other tinplate is more pronounced in the store than HOand two because I was looking for chassis for my intermodal containers and I just could not seem to get them to understand what I was looking for. So next time I will save the toll at the Verrrazano Bridge and order online.
Question from Europe, i see quite a few G size trains in american stores & video's but less HO size. Here in Europe G size is not very common and have tons of HO. Is that also in America?
It was declared New York State Territory even though geographically it is located in NJ. Here's their mailing address according to the National Park Service website: Liberty Island New York, NY 10004
As an international buyer I wasn't too happy with the way they treated me when I was asking questions via email so I stopped buying from them as their customer service was terrible, hope their instore customer service is better.
I am sorry that you have had bad experiences, I live in the UK and telephoned Train world by Skype, always polite and helpful. I too have ordered lots of Lionel from them and nothing has been too much trouble.
That's very strainge I've never had a bad experience with them. I'm sure you just caight them at a very busy stressful time or something. I'll try not to make too many excusses for them but they have never given me or anyone i know a hard time.
am I the only one who face palmed when he said he was in New York in front of the statue of liberty. for those who don't know the statue of liberty is in New Jersey
kcpatri It's actually in New York, New York. Google it. It's on the Jersey side of the hudson, but the New York line goes around it to include it in New York for the address. So it has a New York Address with a Jersey geological location. Kinda complicated.
More Chinese content than a China-town restaurant ?? Seriously , politics aside Chinese model railway manufacturers make stunning products at affordable prices ,the hobby would be struggling without their well-earned influence.
Union Pacific Fan You think I took the time and money out of my pocket to go all the way out there to NY to do an ad for TrainWorld? I just did a store visit video for caboose hobbies a few weeks ago and spring creek model trains this week. Where are you to complain that I am doing ads for them?
Bada Bing rest in peace Bobby Baccala. A man who loved trains and who loved Trainworld Brooklyn.
I've ordered many locomotives and train cars from them, and they've always done me well. I will probably always keep buying from them, and I live in California.
I Allen been there at Trainworld 8 times and bought so many trains, and bought from them since early 2015 and still do enjoy buying what I love. Thanks James
I had just ordered some N scale code 80 flex track from Trainworld at $3.25 a piece, they are going for $5 in retail, you can't beat it!

Loved this store when I was a kid.
Wanted to take home everything.
(WOOoooow!!!) That's incredible I like the Lionel Trains, G Gauge Thomas the Tank Engine & Piko Steam Engines.
I'll definitely have to check out trainworld if I'm ever on the east coast. The warehouse is sort of like Costco for model railroaders lol.
I am Coming to New York in April Brooklyn is going to be one of my stops by the way I am from the United Kingdom
Nice view from the veranda at the end.
Thanks for sharing this James i always wanted to see what there warehouse looked like
Must be great fun when it comes round to stock take time.
Check out the Trainland in Long Island. Lots of cool stuff AND they filmed a scene from the popular show "The Sopranos" there
That is amazingly awesome! Great video! I can't believe all those trains.
Super cool.wow. That's my kind of store

Impressive..... I ordered a number of items from them......best prices and selection around......
Their store is in a really rough neighborhood and the last time I ordered something from them (TTX Kato well car set) they smashed the model box to fit in an undersized UPS box. Ended up waiting 3 weeks for a replacement.
looks to be quite a nice store
be careful with credit card information here. I got fraudulent charges from them
Just found out their webshop functions again, picked up some nice discounted loco's (if there are any left in stock that is...)
My favorite part is the warehouse.
It's like a candy store, but with trains. =)
Fantastic video!!

The downside is that the store is in a lousy location on McDonald Avenue. I live in Brooklyn, but I never go there.
Great video! What was the background Music used?
***** Not sure, it comes from youtube's music library.
Having once lived in and around NYC, it was surprising to see all those wide aisles. Not something you see there every day. Nice.
Ah yes, trainworld, i remember the first time i've been there and how and when i discovered it by a new york post newspaper at christmas.
