What a divine rendition, full of Bhakti, makes if look so simple in singing with the unassuming Bhavam...my favourite Dr Parasala amma, favourite Raga, favourite Mandapam and favourite Swati Thirunal... divinity in each one.Can there be anything better to feel a complete surrender to Lord Narasimha-Ugram for Adharmam and Kaarunyam for the Dharmis and Bhakta.Very divine moments -totally absorbing and discovering the glory of Bhagavan ,Amma and Maharja Swati Tirunaal

Dev Prasad is absolutely correct : I too had uncontrollable tears filling my eyes as I listened to her brilliant Arabhi with that sweet, dignified and huggable face glancing a thankful glance at her able vocal supports. That group singing aura is irresistible. Pranams to her in abundance! I love you Vidushi Ponnmmal teacher.
I had planned to pay her a visit last year with a bagful of all sorts of fruit from the Chala bazaar and a copy of MDR singing 'Koniyadina napai' with an astounding 16 sangathis.
But my travel plans changed due to an unexpected death in the family leaving me with a disturbed mind that closed down the temptation for social visitations. Next year I will make it and pay my homage to her -- in person. Until such time -- Pranams in millions and a Rig Veda Prayer for the vidushi though she doesn't need it : Aa no bhadra: Kratavo yantu viswat:

Maiden concert in the sense that women were barred from performing there until Prince Ramavarma changed course. The mahavidushi has performed all over Kerala. Of course, the main awards by the Kerala govt go only to one man. Swaralaya awards too go to same person from the neighbouring state. I don't know why this delightful, dignified and unassuming mahavidushi was never honoured with the Swathi Thirunal Puraskaram. Of course, she is content with her simple life and plenty of students, some of whom were there ably supporting their frail guruji. Listen to her effortless presentation of swarams. May she be blessed with many more years of good health to make us all happy. Narayanakurup Kanthikumar/Invercargill/NZ

2008 when I hope to organize rather a nice music festival at Maharaja Swathi Thirunal's palace.

Very nice concert and graceful music. I am not sure why such treasures never really get the attention - is it the fact that they are away from the chennai music hotspot, that such gem of a musician goes relatively unnoticed? That also applies to you also, sir - until I saw a Dr BMK song uploaded by you and thru links I listened to some of your other songs that I realized the greatness of your musical capabilities
