Work at a GM plant and years ago at the job station where they put the VIN Plate on the car..The rivets used to attach the VIN plate were specially made rivets..They were kept under lock and key and audited daily..If a rivet was damaged they was a procedure they had to go through to account for that rivet..If by chance you were ever caught trying to steal one of those rivets the Federal Government was who you answered to as well as getting fired from the job..I am sure the whole process is different now but back then it was serious business and those rivets were valuable..The rivets looked different than the rivets you normally see..smaller and even the tool to attach them was a specially made tool
Watching Big Mike on his journey, I’m always amazed that when he stops at a place of interest ( field of cars) he snaps out of tired and his eyes blast wide and the car information starts spilling out. Fukin awesome!!!! Mike Knows!! He can go zero to a hundred 💯 in a instant 🙏😂🤣

I had a 69 Caprice custum coupe 396 here in Holland. Drove very nice for an old car. Love these episodes
The red car with the white door is a 71-72 Vauxhall Firenza....rare car in Canada......a similar Chevrolet version was sold in South Africa and in 1973 GM South Africa built 100 Can Am models with 1969 Z28 302/4 spd to compete against the 302 Capri
its a vauxhall viva hc,the firenza was the hot version,even came with the ultra cool droop snoot nosecone
In Canada the entire HC range were badged as Firenza. So this is a Firenza - even though it's a saloon (sedan)

Had one of these ,120.5 cubic inch 4 cylinder automatic would blow the doors off most 350 v8 cars off the same time

I had a four door firefly for a few months as an in between car. I thought it had 45k rolled over, but when i sold it, the guy was like whoah it has 456,000, and he still wanted it! He knew what they were!

Hi from New Zealand. Here to assist you with the identity of the red '2000' at 35.30 in the video. It's a '73 Vauxhall Viva HC Magnum. Should be a 2300cc OHC slant 4 as used in CF Bedford vans of the era. Loving the videos.
One of my friends loved vaga. In 1985-1990 he had 2 vaga(s). Fun cars. 😮
Another friends had a comet , duster , 67 charger another had a SS Chevelle.

Over 30 years I have been driving close to where that yard is and I never knew it was there. Did I see a 76-77 Cutlass there? I could use some parts on that car.
Mike GM Oshawa is still alive for now pumping out the Silverado and Sierra which are pretty cool vehicles. So, Canada is still building some cool stuff.
And those Vegas were built in St- Therese, QC too funny enough.

Someone please get Mike some spray tan in a can for his legs. For a minute there I thought there was something wrong with the colour contrast on my phone but then I realized Mikes legs obviously don't see the sun ☀️very often !!!

@35:25 That appears to be a Vauxhall Viva HB, which was sold as the Envoy Epic here in Canada.

I've been parting out Chevelles and other GM 60's cars for 40 years. By hand mostly. Friend of mine sends me a text message one day he picked up a 68 El Camino to flip and needed to bolt on the front clip and all the hardware and was missing and asked me if I had it and I said yes. He said would you take $20 and I said NO. Call AMK and buy a new kit. And he says oh no I don't want to spend that much money. And I said well the original rust-free hardware that I have is going to be more than what they get for their kit. I think to this day he still doesn't understand why. I said go to the wrecking yard and see if you can find a mid to late 70's GM car and you'll get stuff that's close enough.

The small red saloon isn't a Datsun is a vauxhall viva HC( from the UK) 72-79, sold as I believe the Pontiac envoy in Canada

I almost bought one of those Vega cosworths. Such cool cars. But they failed so bad on that one. Emissions killed it and it made so much less power than they planned. Unfortunately most people pulled that motor. Now they are so hard to find with original cosworth motor

That Cosworth ( Vega ) was made in Lordstown Ohio..the Chevrolet Vega had body rot problems after the first few years of owning one... the top of the fenders being the first place to go..We see them now mostly on the drag strip these days.. Cosworth bought a limited number of them

@@tony--james Interesting..hope i don't miss the reveal..I worked at the Lordstown plant starting the next model after the Vega..building Chevy Monza..Pontiac Sunbird..Olds Starfire..Buick Skyhawk all built on that line..Not much better than the Vega really..there was a van plant next door..when i started at the plant there was 12 thousand workers and 35 years later when i retired there was less than 3 thousand workers..Now closed i think they build electric tractors there now but it isn't by GM..Foxconn is what the sign says now..I will be watching for the Vega capsule..Thanks for the info..
@@milmil6594 yeah, there's a few articles about this buried Chevy Vega online, though putting it underground, may seal it's fate if it fills up with groundwater etc, ( the last concrete time capsule vault car ended up like this in Oklahoma, 1957-2007 , the 57 Plymouth Belvedere , named Miss Belvedere , it was literally destroyed,as it sat in 4 feet of water for years, it's in a museum now, lots of web pages/pics on that car , but yeah, remember July 4th 2025 and search for it online then , I'm sure they'll be articles when unveiled , there's also a brand new Kawasaki motorcycle sitting beside the Vega
