4:20 that change from grief and desolation to anger and demanding a truth.
That always punches me in the face and i keep coming back for more
Potenza Amore pr la Vita .. anche "dopo" she is voice beautiful
..no si può commentare ma Sentire nell'anima ciao
one of the greatest all around pieces of music i've heard put together, the talent is astounding
I like it when witches sing.
Do you want more of them to?
@@sabrinakrisb4672 i do.
Oh yessssssss ^^ and yes tf I doooo
So maybe you should try to listen to Diamanda Galas (for example song The Sporting Life ;) ).
i ve just discovered this song and i agree with you jejeje
this entire song is a masterpiece. it just feels like one amazing build up
First time I heard this I was peaking on a 3 tab acid trip. I went to get some water as I listened to this with my headphones. I had to stop moving, as the hallway I had to walk down to get to the kitchen was being molecularly destroyed, atom by atom, and rearranged over and over again. One of the wildest LSD experiences I've ever had. As Anna's shrieks started, I began seeing what looked like dark shapes fill my entire field of vision. The kitchen light was on, and it created a halo around the door which was barely open at the end of the hallway. That little walk down the hallway, with dark shadows and shapes, and this band of light around the door, my whole field of vision going absolutely crazy, is on my mind every time I listen to this now, being 100% sober. What a fucking incredible artist, band, and song. Incredible album. Heard her live supporting Sunn O))), was a beautiful experience too. Wonderfully talented, carrying on the tradition of many before her.
So are you saying drugs are good or bad?
@@brakeduster yes
Love it!
DON´T BE A DUMBASS, DRUGS DON´T IMPROVE THE EXPERIENCE OF LISTENING TO ANNA´S ART, THAT IS A REALLY STUPID CONCEPT.
This is one of the best songs i've heard in years. I can't get it out of my head. Her vocal performance is amazing
She sounds like a Theremin at the end. Love it.
Discovered Anna earlier this week and cannot stop playing this
Pure genius
This is such a treasure to find.
This is so underrated OMFG
I love that emotion and horror in the vocals near the end, she has a great eerie/scratchy voice she should use more. I get a since of black metal atmosphere from this song, very gothic and intense love it
It gives me black meal vibes too!
She's no stranger to bm, listen to Wolves In The Throneroom, Born From The Serpent's Eye or Thuja Magus Imperium👍
Check out Wolves in the Throne Room's "Thrice Woven", Anna has done some vocals on it.
Yes I listen to Black metal and goth and I loved it
@@P747 you will definitely need to clarify which songs anna performs on & how much she features on those songs. thrice woven is an entire album & it totally sucks ... i mean its really really bad. if there is a good song on the album which has anna doing all the vocals (and not that terrible lead singer that they have) then please enlighten us. but let me repeat in case you did not fully comprehend ... the band 'wolves in the thrones room' is absolutely and completely horrible!
Rare song that hooked me right away.
Nick Cave + Dead Can Dance + Organ = WOW
The screams keep getting better and better and then there's the end (*_*)
Such a haunting and gothic song, love it.
This was the 1st song I ever heard from Anna a few years ago…It gripped me like a head-full of Benzedrine and I’ve yet to recover. Thanks, Anna.
100% agree!
Love this song. Its got an under tone of doom to it. Like its going to explode from the inside, impending! Its just amazing
It really does
Michael Gira as the dad, Nico as the mom, and Diamanda Galàs as the tooth fairy, and here is how our Anna grew to be such an unique artist!!!
And Siouxsie Sioux as older sister !
And her good auntie is Beth Gibbons.
And her best friends next door, Liz Fraser and Lisa Gerrard.
'Real' father is composer/sound & visual artist Carl Michael von Hausswolff, a respected artist in his own right as well. So..guess some credit can come from this too. Sure she probably had a interesting upbringing, exposure to all sorts of genres of music.
@@AnUnhingedMind
This girl got nothing on Lisa Gerrard.
Not even close to Gerrard brilliance
Deserves an award.
woooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where was I my whole life that i just found this out?? DAAAAAAAMN im hooked
You possess such a free, fearless creative spirit, and a genuine and passionate personnality that is so rare today. I know your music for several years now and I'm still a fan. i'm french and I find the controversy in Nantes absolutely ridiculous. People are afraid of different and unique people. The music world needs more free spirits like you!
My favorite part is when she says "who is she"
I can't even find words to describe what I feel listening and watching to this. It really touchs my soul in a way I can't describe. It's pure art, pure delight, it's... pure
C'est de l'art purement angélique!!
@@danchaosan5194 indeed
My mother died days ago and this music and video fit better than ever
One of the best vocal performances I've heard in a long time. Gives me chills every time I listen , very excited for this album. I think the atmosphere of it will be enthralling!
Morgan Bergeron she remember me patty Smith
Morgan Bergeron i love your vocabulary
Totally agree!
@Nostalgic Storm Waver There was no '80's singer 'Patty Smith'. The Scandal lead singer and solo artist's name is Patty Smyth.
Morgan Bergeron
Not since Jarboe has Gira had such a muse.
thank god artists like her still exist
Agree. This is real music, not that mainstream pop and hip hop garbage
@@Ammeo hip hop has incredible musicians who are just as creative, innovative and cutting edge stuff such as Clipping, Jpegmafia, Run The Jewels etc. Is it that hard to show love for an artist without shutting others down? Because this is just ignorant and disrespectful
@@greentaigo2552 : I used the word mainstream. Underground stuff is good
@@Ammeo lol people really go from 0-100 real quick
@@Ammeo the artists they mentioned may not be super popular, but they fit well within the mainstream. I couldn't possibly call them underground.
Je viens de découvrir cette artiste grâce aux intégristes qui ont fait annuler l'un de ses concerts prévu dans une église de Nantes... C'est bien la 1ère fois(et sans doute la dernière) que je leur dis "merci"... 🤩😍 🤘
same here! but then from belgium (where they are not cancelled ;-)).
Idem!
I've been listening to this on repeat for something like 72hrs now. Is there anything better to even listen to?
Nope
this is the best song I've heard from her so far. I'm completely addicted.
LYRICS:
My feet are not enough
My feet are not enough
My feet are not enough
My feet are not enough
To save me
To save me
His search is not enough
His search is not enough
To find me
To find me
My love is not enough
My love is not enough
To save me
To save me....
...
You search through the forest and the bottomless sea
And you cry
Push the trees, push the sky, push the air aside
You look at their faces and their meaningless loss
And you cry
Who is she, who is she, who is she to say good bye?
Bye

Awesome Thanks!
Wow... ecstatic, mystical, deep and dark. An incredible piece of music.
Eargasm! 🎶💖🎶
One of the most intense and beautiful things I heard !
Hit & Run's episode _'Search & Destroy'_ brought me here. Glad, I have found out what song it is and who performs it. Outstandingly powerful performance which lets the viewer hear the outcry and feel the exasperation of the protagonist. Perfect match for the season's climax.
I heard this for the first time at the weekend on BBC Radio 6, and now I can't stop listening to it. Loving those all consuming screams.
Hauntingly Beautiful
The closing scene of Hit & Run brought me here.
I feel so many things listening to this song I can't even describe it
I've only recently discovered Anna and I've had this song on repeat for days. Incredible stuff
I’m so addicted to this music.
I may be the only one getting a Twin Peaks' vibe from this music, but it's certainly a complement. Very evocative and gets under the skin.
My love is not enough
To save me ... THE MOST TRUE LYRICS EVER WRITTEN. Liturgy of love Its fading out
Those screams always get me just like the first time I heard this song.
More than a little bit late to this party but always searching for something new, and with this particular song not disappointed...musically dark and eerie with wailing vocals almost in parts like she was culning. Will definitely be looking at more
WoW!!!
this is so underrated.
4:12 - end... Just EPIC...
After weeks of coming back to this and discovering her older material... I can officially say I'm in love!
You know when you find that one song that you just can't stop listening to...this is that for the last few days
This song is BEST❤
I've never loved watching someone run so much in my life.
5:20 When your born and raised in a village, have been drinking in the town nearby and now you are on your way home.
For maybe two years, perhaps three, I have been listening to this song nonstop.
Hit and run brought me here. Such a powerful track. Strong emotions 🔥
Amazing song! Thanks for Netflix's Hit & Run for discovering it for me! ❤️
Me to
Same for me
Si .vos angelical.
She and Chelsea Wolfe should do a collaboration
No!
@@rodequis6014 YES! I want to see the storm formed by the collision of their two polar-varianced styles of vocal Intensity!
Throw Heike into it, and we'll have a new Divine Trinity not seen since Ancient Rome...I'd worship there

Such talent
This is metal AF
Reminds me 90s.
Hit and run brought me here!!
I just can't get over how incredible this is.
What a voice..goosebumps all over my skin..yeah give me more this dope🔥
End Of The Hit&And Run
Whoever the percussionist/drummer is, kudos!
Wow, what was that... I though such masterpieces ended in 1990.
Perfection. This is what I wanted Fever Ray's comeback to sound like.
I agree. I discovered Fever Ray recently, but her old work is so much more haunting and gritty..
This song and the one called Stranger ( live version ) totally different but both totally up there flying through the wind. Vocal performance on both are supreme and I can`t stop the goosebumps whenever I hear either one. Magnificent.
everything in this track is professional , Incredible 👑
What a fucking voice.... 🤘🤘
First listen to Anna and really like her sound, definitely going to be listening to more of her
Love it! Especially the raw emotions starting 4:17
Nice - you made my day
Anna you're a fantastically creepy. I love it
4:40 this scene is inspired by a dark footage video on youtube claiming that cought a witch in camera, don't know if it's real or fake but definitely scary. Her voice reminds me of Diamanda Galas in some parts, go gloomy dramatic and gothic loved it
Do you know the name of the video?
@@felipearaujo8207 don't remember the original but I found it there, is the first clip czcams.com/video/p4HG3LOU42A/video.html
I also remember that video but cannot find it! Strange!
> don't know if it's real or fake
You don't know if someone was really claiming they found a witch, or don't know if witches/magic are/is real or fake?
@@spartanatreyu Don't know if the video was made up or there was this lady for real. Of course there are no witches, I wish there were magic in this world but reality is more fucked up and shit than all the supernatural evil.
Jag älskar Anna von Hausswollf, du tar över efter Stina Nordenstam ... fantastisk, melankolisk, energi. Fantastiskt!!
I was just recommended this song. THIS WAS GREAT, WOMAN YOU ARE PURE POWER AND VOCAL GLORY. STANDING OVATION
It is so amazing , the complete disc is full of dark magic
What an absolutely spine-chilling song. So powerful!
for the first time in a long time I got a shiver from the vocal
Almost500k!!! half a million in one year guys we gotta get her there!!! Share this woman with a howling voice and marble eyes!
Amazing song.
Loving Anna von Hausswolff and other dark masters of music like
Chelsea Wolfe, Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan, Tool, Portishead, HTDA, Allflaws

I would add Diamanda Galás and Jarboe to those dark masters
Kind of has a whole David Lynch vibe to the video. Many mentioned Diamonds and Pj as artist reference as well.
Jojo Dunn totally thought the same while watching
She running in the road in the end is straight from Inland Empire
Anna is so amazing love the way she sings with passion
this just might be the best song in the world
Absolutely stunning and unique music and a voice too.

It's nearly 1am and HOLY SHIT this is wonderful
Be proud Mother Diamanda .
She is amazing!!!
Hit and Run brings me here
This song is haunting me! Who is she? Who is she? Who is she? Who is she to make this so beautiful?
Nothin like a single being walking alone across an eerie moon like surface carrying nothin but a shovel to set the stage...
This song hits a lot when you're already very used to Anna's aesthetic, but also listening to this song for the first time. I listened like 10 or more times each "All Thought Fly" and "Ceremony" albums, and my ears are very used to "Ceremony" because I listened to it numerous times the last 2 weeks. Yesterday, after I felt I have digested enough the two quoted albums, I decided to go check "Dead Magic" that features this song. This song surprised me a lot, because I didn't expected something that direct and hostile. While it's not exactly what I seek when I listen to Anna Von Hausswolff, I think this song is very important on her discography, because it shows she is capable of great versatily while always being coherent in her aesthetic. She masters both light and dark without never being out of character.
I haven't recovered from it yet.
She's so amazing great voice and very cute too
