- From the VHS vault, Metra cab-car 8444 is seen leading the 20th Century Railroad Club's Pioneer Limited excursion through Huntley, Illinois with F40PH-2 137 as power on the return trip to Chicago after visiting the Illinois Railway Museum in Spring of 1998. At this time, cab-car 8444 still sported a K5LA horn and the engineer put on quite a show blasting through town. I was the only one shooting video of the train passing through town as it returned to Chicago.
The sweet sounds of the old k5la's will be missed but not forgotten.
For some reason, 8444 is my favorite cab car
Is it still in service?
@@RailBrothersProductions oh yes
Sadly it has a regular raised letter K3LA not a killer K5LA
@@icrailfanner sad. I really love the K5LA horns
@@TheShad_1 yeah same, I was fortunate enough to buy one from metra
Gotta love those 1st Gen K5LA's!
Oh ya!!
Huntley was such a quaint little town back then. It's amazing how much it has grown in the years since this video was taken.
Yep! Now it is full of whiny Chicagoland Karens!
Oh wow- this is awesome
