Thanks for posting this, Stockport's a great town and it's one of the few North West towns that's getting better, the bars and restaurants of the old town are amazing.
An excellent presented video of a time gone by that had many happy memories of when life was much different than today .Excellently put together thank
you
As a kid I remember watching the bitter strike at Roberts Arrundels on brinksway
Superb compilation that also the music and tunes ...
God bless Stockport and her people past and present !
The house next to the Brinksway Pictorium or the Bug Hut as it was known is where I grew up. Half a dozen doors down was Bramwell's Sweet and paper shop where I delivered the papers from around most of these streets. I used to go with my mum to Bann Street wash house (even though children weren't allowed happy days thank you Brinksway Moran,we must have crossed paths many times as I lived there for over 20 years.
Thanks for your time,really enjoyable.
Great pictures - beautifully presented video.
That was beautiful, thank you.
I moved here in 1997, never knew this existed? Great vid thanks
Excellent
Stockport was a dirty scruffy dusty place back then, but it was wonderful, magical and exciting. Now it is a collection of bland boxes seemingly designed by architects who only know how to construct square or oblong boxes! Shame on all those, including the Council who let it happen!
great memories we lived at 10 ring ave theres a photo of us all at 15.18 im the one stood on the pavement on the left how things change
Photo of three ladies on Lancashire hill brass plaque behind them( rope and twine)far right.is his mother,Francis Duignan nee Kelly.he crossed Shirley baker's path. ( filthy young boy with broad grin)his name is ray.shirley Winifred Teresa McDonald,is his godmother.for it is me.
Is Hunt Street still there today or has it been obliterated completely?
The houses don't exist, but the cobbled road is still visible. An electricity substation is now on the site.

The young lad sitting on the step was taken in Portwood in the 60s by a friends father. It won a photographic prize and was called. One Clean Sock. But we have no name for the boy . Sorry.
