      @@mrthelwulf4566 Yeah I hear that. More like impossible. Whenever I hear about people going to MM for the first time, the first thing I tell them is to plan for more than one day if they want to get everything done. I don't care if you get there when the park opens and you stay until closing and you skip all meals. One day will not work. The park is too big, too busy, and has too many rides for one day. I made the mistake once of going in mid-August (never again), which is probably one of the busiest times of the year for them and it took 1.5 hours just to get on Riddler's Revenge!

And that is in addition to Flatrides, improvements on Theming throughout the Park and expansions on their Water Park. They simply don't seem to stop building. I have seen pictures of Mine Train track already being on site, and that's the known 2021 Coaster, so who knows what else they already decided to build or at least considering.

      @@ween6301 Thank you for the laugh of the day. Energylandia has a very well rounded Lineup. Yes, they have more Kiddie Coasters than most Parks, but they have more Coasters than most Parks too. They currently have 3 High Thrills Coasters (Hyperion, Zadra, Mayan) with2 being borderline Family / High Thrills (Speed, Formula). They have 5 Coasters that I would put as Kiddie Coasters and 5 Family Coasters. By the looks of it Abyssus is going to be more of a Higher Thrill Coaster with another Family Coaster planned to open this year and a Mine Train already confirmed for next year.
      Like it or not, Energylandia is a Park for the whole Family and that Shows in their Coaster Lineup. And you have to keep in mind that Poland is still pretty new to the whole Theme Park concept. Prior to Energylandia they pretty much only had what is now known as Legendia and a handful of Luna Parks and Family Entertainment Centers. We are talking about a country where in 2015 a SLC opened as the Countries highest Coaster, beating their back then Record Holder by 13.3 Meters.

    As someone who also grew up with this park, you present so many perspectives I've never thought about. Mainly, I always thought walking so much was a completely normal experience in all parks. Honestly now that I think about it, I mentally rank literally every other park I've been to lower because of the lack of walking? Walking so much makes Magic Mountain feel absolutely massive! I'm also super familiar, so when loops are quicker at other parks it makes me feel instantly familiar with the park and that's just boring.

    The year round schedule makes it easy for me to plan my vacation here on school days and take advantage of having no lines. That makes it my top pro, but it also goes hand in hand with your top 2 pros. The amazing coaster collection and the elite top 2 are why I want to be here on days with no lines. I live in Utah and have been a Six Flags season pass holder for 5 of the past 10 years. I must say that your assessment of the pros and cons at Magic Mountain were spot on. The coaster collection is the reason my family makes multiple trips to Valencia on years that we have a season pass. The price and value of the season pass is also a huge pro for us. The best coasted park we have been to, however, is Cedar Point.

    This is my favorite Six Flags park and I actually like it even more than Cedar Point because of their bigger and more diverse coaster collection. This was one of five parks I visited while there in 2014 (the other 4 being the two Disney parks, SeaWorld San Diego and Knott's Berry Farm). We did however have to drive almost 90 minutes from Anaheim to visit the park but it was completely 100% worth it.

Six flags magic mountain is the only park that gives you access to all of the rides and scare zones in the whole la oc area. Someone on a budget can go and enjoy the scare zones and stay till 1 am with no extra cost.

    Yeah SFMM is an amazing park. I agree they need to invest on the 2 main cons, get the observation tower working again and invest in some transport. I did hear alot of rumors about the observation tower during the summer simply because of the high winds, or someone purposefully trying to jump off from the more open lower level, or could have some metal fatigue. Even a simple funicular that replaced the Dragon (the station is still there), and connected the top of the mountain would help. I remember my knees and my legs killing me after a day at the park due to the walking. When the monorail worked, it was a rarity. With the observation tower, personally they should tear it down and then build a Stratosphere-esque type of tower where you put a revolving restaurant at the top and then add either the Fish-hook roller coaster Arrow was designing or put a drop tower on top of it.

    Turkey legs are the BEST option for food at Six Flags Magic Mountain, (unless you consider the turkey's feelings.) It's wonderful to discover how you don't get stapled on Twisted Colossus; I suppose that at least the restraints aren't too tight due to the fact that they're trying to be better than Cedar Point. I also got more rides on T.C. than I did on S.V. and and felt more comfortable requesting ride where I wasn't stapled. Let Cedar Point learn the lesson of not stapling its riders on SV. Thanks for this wonderful video!

    Pros: massive coaster collection and cheap annual passes and memberships make multiple visits easy. Cons: kids are pretty much confined to one area and there’s a lack of things to do for the less daring. There’s also not as many flat rides and water rides as there used to be, though Crazanity was a good addition.

    • @DoswarePictures
      @DoswarePictures Před 4 lety

      Mike Ford yeah. SFMM really needs a kids area expansion. Whistlestop Park has been bland ever since Thomas left, so remove everything there except Magic Flyer (also modify the trains to remove the Percy car and maybe even make it accessible to taller riders) and combine it with Bugs Bunny World to create a larger kids area with more attractions, a better play area, maybe a consistent theme like Camp Snoopy, and maybe even add a fifth coaster (I’d go with an invert) and boom, a decent kids area. Maybe also add more family rides throughout.
      Although the next park to get a kids area (if Covid wasn’t a problem) I’m guessing would be Great Adventure, since they just got rid of one of their kids areas along with a coaster for Jersey Devil, so give Road Runner Railway the Woodstock Express.

    I don't mind walking because I walk fast but sometimes I do feel that walking to the park entrance can be a pain in butt and a second entrance would be great. I'm at Magic Mountain almost every week with my daughter. I enjoy watching your videos and I would enjoy the chance to run into you some day. I have been going to Magic Mountain for years and I definitely have a lot of memories of rides that use to be there that I've been on including The Galaxy. Actually I remember 5 of us rode that once. Me, my two brothers and my mom and dad. During the ride people were jokingly telling us our chair was breaking during the ride. When the ride operator came to let us out she looked at us in shock because she didn't realize there were 5 of us. The sign on the ride said NO MORE THAN 5 riders at a time.

    @madkoch12 Před 4 lety +1

    I live in europe and when I had the chance to visit six flag magic Mountain in june 2009 my experience sadly wasn't that great. I only managed to ride 4 rides which was mainly due to slow one train operations on a busy friday. I stood 3.5 hours in line for Terminator salvation (I think now its called apocalypse), 3 hours for x2 and another 3 hours for tatsu the last ride the old colossus was the only ride we were able to almost walk on. So we rode it twice. In the end all rides were great and I will never forget how awesome X2 and Tatsu were. But in the end what really disappointed me were the length of the ride. I was used to German parks with coasters having usually pretty long ridetimes. Even if I was standing in line vor 2.5-3 hours for the most hyped coasters I would get ridetimes 90-120 sec out of them. Both X2 and Tatsu disappointed me in that regard, the rides were great but both times when I hit the break run I was like, wait thats it. I waited this long for auch a short ride?

    Top Five Roller Coaster Collections
    1: Cedar Point (No-Brainer. Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, and Magnum XL-200 all in one park? Instanity.)
    2: Six Flags Magic Mountain (Having the most coasters in the world will put you in the top five. If it wasn't for the sheer quality of the coasters at Cedar Point, this would probably be number one.)
    3: Hersheypark (The addition of Candymonium gives them a really well rounded collection. They never cared about records. They always focused on building high quality roller coasters and their lineup is elite because of it.)
    4: Six Flags Great Adventure (A homer pick, but the El Toro/Nitro combo is one of the best top two of any park, really only bested by Cedar Point and maybe Carowinds. Kingda Ka is a blast, Bizarro is criminally underrated, and Green Lantern is one of the better stand up roller coasters out there. Jersey Devil could potentially push this park into the top three when it opens.)
    5: Six Flags Great America (This park really gained some momentum this past decade. The additions of X-Flight, Goliath, and Maxx Force have taken Great America from a great Six Flags park to one of the best parks in the country.)

    Nice video mate. Certainly agree with having access to ride down time in advance. We came over from England 9 years ago and had to book in advance and on a particular day to fit in with our movements. Would've been great to see what was open/closed. We missed Superman, Batman and the original Colossus. Thankfully we were 2 months too early for Green Lantern and just in time to ride Deja Vu before it got moved and ruined!

    I agree with you on needing a second entrance. The walk to either Magic Mountain or Hurricane Harbor is fine once you get there but it is a long, tiring walk when you leave.
    They also need another transportation system at least on west side of the park. Walking up that hill by Goldrusher just to get to Ninja and Superman is murder.

    I went to SFMM on one of their shorter days right after New Years in 2018. I was disappointed that I didn’t have nearly enough time to ride everything, much less get second rides (except for Twisted Colossus), but overall I was pretty impressed with the park. Everything was running at least two trains except for Full Throttle, and in the afternoon they were able to get TC racing almost every time. I also ended up at Twisted Wiches for lunch and I was surprised by how good it was, especially for a Six Flags park. I just wish I had a few more hours to get over to the back of the park to get on all the coasters. I’d love to do a west coast tour eventually but it’ll be at least another 5 years before I could even think about a big trip like that

    I live about 2 minute drive away, just on the other side of the 5. For me a big pro that goes hand in hand with the amount of coasters, is the scaling. I'm very new to coasters. I was terrified of them for years. My bro got a pass to Magic Mountain and started taking me, and it's been VERY easy to climb up, of course starting with the smaller ones like Revolution and Ninja, then being forced onto Twisted Colossus - which is now my favorite ride!!
    I'm still working up to the really big ones, and doubt that I'll ever make it to X2, but their selection is perfect for people trying to introduce themselves to "bigger" rides as so many are just like, one step up from the last. I really appreciate that part
    Edit: I do miss the log flume though!! I get sad when those go away for coasters, they're great rides in their own rite

    Great list. Biggest con is no transportation rides besides Helpful Honda. They knew they needed it when the park was SMALLER than it is today!! Really wish they had a sky bucket or monorail type ride or both again. Or at least another funicular on the riddler side. Sometimes for whatever reason you have to go from back to the front or visa versa for your locker or lunch or whatever, currently itsthe only thing I super don’t like. Besides the sky tower being closed!! I love Scream and Goliath btw...so for me the collection is definitely awesome. Some more trees in some areas would be good, log hammer area now full throttle used to be SO much nicer.
