At Valrhona, we contribute to the preservation and regeneration of numerous ecosystems. 🌱
Through the Fonds Solidaire Valrhona @fondssolidairevalrhona, 52 hectares of plantations have been regenerated in Haiti, 9 hectares have been developed through #agroforestry in the Dominican Republic, and for over 30 years, we have been preserving an endemic cocoa variety in Peru: the Gran Blanco.
These actions, in addition to being beneficial for the planet, improve the livelihoods of our cocoa producers by preserving and enhancing their income, leading to a more equitable and sustainable cocoa industry.
Julien, a cocoa sourcer at Valrhona, explains how this translates on the ground in Haiti with the "Creole Gardens" project. Conducted in partnership with "Agronomes et Vétérinaires sans frontière" and Feccano @feccano, this project has benefited from nearly €327,000 in investment from Valrhona since 2017.
