      Thanks! Yea I do try to get quotes before I do anything to help me make the decision if I want to do it myself or not. With the price of things skyrocketing, it has been worth it at least attempting to do things myself

    One of neighbor take a above ground pool buried it pretty much all way to the top and it have concrete pad all round pool it like a inground pool . He told me as long you filled pool with water to top you can buried the pool sides and he did this like 10 years ago still going strong he never have any problems. I don't think it was cheap to do especially the cost of concrete pad deck but it does look really good

    • @LetsDoThisDIY
      @LetsDoThisDIY  Před rokem +1

      Yea I think ideally as long you keep it filled with water, it should hold the structure especially if you have a pretty solid surrounding dirt. So I think it’s definitely something that’s do able!

      @@TheNealsNextDoor we're to the leveling part- you used gravel to help level- did that workout ok? (I dug little too deep in one area)

    • @LetsDoThisDIY
      @LetsDoThisDIY  Před rokem +1

      @@donovandodd7959 soo I used a little bit of dirt I dug up already, then used a tamper try and compact it back down, then I used gravel on top of that to help try and reinforce the area where I put loose dirt. Then a layer of sand on top of it. I live in ga and have the red clay so once it gets wet it usually does a fairly good job getting solid all over again. If you have more of a looser dirt I would probably put a layer of paver base to add more stability in the areas you need it

    Great job, everything looks really nice. Looking to do the same to my yard with a deck around it. Researching how to cut cost and the best way to do it. Thanks for sharing.

    • @LetsDoThisDIY
      @LetsDoThisDIY  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thank you and no problem at all. My first plan was to do a deck but my nextdoor neighbor was getting his patio extended and I had gotten a pretty reasonable quote from the person doing his patio so I went with the concrete walkway and we were able to start the next day. At that point, I was already 2 months plus into the project and I just wanted it done lol. It is definitely able to do a lot of the work yourself, I would just start early so you can give your self more than enough time to be done before the swim season. Let me know what you end up doing!

    Nice job. If I see another diy video of some yahoo building a stupid pool out of bricks and cement and fiberglass and paint and tile and whatever else they find to throw at it, ima scream. Buy the kit. Do the work yourself.

    Anymore information on the led lights on the pool?

    • @LetsDoThisDIY
      @LetsDoThisDIY  Před 4 měsíci

      sorry for the late response! but those lights had actually almost 2 years and that is with me using them all year round every night. They finally started to give out in areas and I switched to this set. amzn.to/3Ja2bNp
      It has been on there for a few months now and holding up really well even with all this rain we have been having. I still use them nightly and you can probably extend the life if you take them off the timer in the fall and winter but I like the look of it in the backyard.
