    Thanks for watching. I needed an engine to replace a broken one and this Predator 8HP was the best price however I almost returned it. There is some misleading information on it that you need to know especially if you want to use this engine.

    Harber Freight actually has two engines the same size but made at differant plants. One has hemi head on the piston and the other doesn't. There are some other tiny differences but overall same eng.

      Yep, the one with the oval head is the non hemi, the rectangle head is the hemi. Both are decent engines. I run a 212 non hemi on my Troybilt tilller, 420 hemi with stage one kit on my Sears Suburban garden tractor.

    • @Nopitunertv

      I wonder how one has a hemi head on a piston? that's misleading in its own.

    • @averyblanton301
      @averyblanton301 Před měsícem

      @@NopitunertvThey make these engines non hemi and hemi head. The hemi head is better for low rpm range, the non hemi works at a higher rpm range, they make these at two different plants because of tooling in the plant. That way they have to keep re - tooling to build the next batch.

    The go-kart forums show the crank bolt thread is 24 UNF, which is the old version as of 2013, and some versions of the engine used 18 thread, but today's version is 20. Next time keep a big assortment of various spare bolts in your garage so you don't have to delay projects, meaning, when in doubt, try various old lawn mower crank and mounting bolts to determine what you need.

Having foreign bolt sizes or nuts that you don't have on hand, will strike fear in the hearts of most home do it yourselfers. I've given up on believing everything will fit without some creative wizardry.,,

    HF does have some misleading information on their motors. i noticed it on their pressure washers but at the end of the day
    they are good motors and the price is not too bad. years ago their prices were much more attractive.so you could overlook this type of information or false advertisement but not anymore.their new policy of the last few years with regard to increasing prices, reducing the coupons and limits on what coupons can be used on is making many old customers to look elsewhere.

    I know in my car which runs the 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine I ordered an aftermarket timing chain cover seal & gasket kit which came with the rear main oil seal instead of the front one,it was also supposed to come with an oil pump pickup tube O ring as well,I'm pretty sure it was for the water pump.
    I needed to replace the gasket as it was leaking oil & I needed to remove the oil pump as I decided to throw a new timing chain & sprocket kit into it, note I bought all the parts on eBay,it didn't match the picture at all.
    I needed the kit straight away so I ordered the front crankshaft oil seal & oil pickup tube O ring separate & genuine,now this is where the interesting part comes in,I was sent a genuine front seal for a 3.6 litre V6 engine,not a 5.7 litre LS1 V8 engine,the ID of the seal I was sent was 50mm & the OD was 70mm,it was supposed to be an ID of 54mm & an OD of 72mm.
    I didn't open the package to check,the seal fitted loosely in the front timing cover while it was still in the bag,so I ordered the correct seal from someone else & sent the V6 seal back for a refund.
    The engine hasn't leaked a drop of oil for 13 months now so it pays to check what you buy online off eBay, etc !
