It seems to me that most of these brackets are similar in that the weight of the wheel/tire is still on the door structure. With the original mounting piece reinstalled the weight is still going into the sheetmetal. This one just seems to take some of the weight off the factory hinges but does not relieve the stress on the door sheetmetal itself.
