  • The Pom Pom Crab (PTYCHOGNATHUS BARBATUS) is a fully aquatic freshwater crab. Perfect for nano tanks. They are peaceful, super active scavengers, omnivores, that will eat algae. They can take a wide range of temperature, some sources say down to mid 60s and up to 78 degrees and neutral ph.

I mentioned during your livestream, but in case you missed it, be careful with these guys as they'll crawl out of your tank if there are tall plants. I've had 3 do so.

5 gallon tank. Never seen my PomPom Crab, always hidden, then I put in a little of Aqueon plant food.. Soon noticed the crab is out and about, which is odd, next day its clearly dying. Both Aqueon and the seller of crabs should put a "little" effort to warn the public. A 3 word sentence, is all it takes.

I’m from Seattle but an Aussie import. Is it possible to order these little crabs? and his little crabs survive as long as they just have a little piece of wood 🪵 to climb out on but with a closed lid dirted tank. With a dirt tank while they dig up the🔝2 layers of sand? It sounds like I can not have any crab 🦀 as it sounds like they will mix up the dirt in with the sand cap 🧢 & just keep releasing it into the water 💦 column. What do you think?

Just a quick question. What do you feed your multis? All my store bought food they reject. I have made some hone made gel food which they love and fight over, they all come racing out of their shells or PVC piping to get the food but the minute it hits the bottom it gets ignored and messes up the tank. Any suggestion?
