During World War II, a group of American soldiers finds themselves behind enemy lines after a covert mission gone awry. Captured by the enemy, they endure harsh conditions and interrogation. However, as tensions rise among the captors and the captives, secrets emerge that challenge loyalties and redefine bravery. The line between captor and captive blurs, leaving the soldiers facing moral dilemmas that could alter their fates forever.

I think this flick had a different title. And a little fun fact: a few months before VJ Day, US commanders advised pilots with seriously damaged aircraft to ditch in the sea and be picked up by the Japanese Navy. According to them, they will be treated better than the Japanese army. And If they do parachute into enemy territory, immediately seek out Japanese authorities and surrender to them because angry civilians had been known to seriously beat US airmen, sometimes to death. Even Japanese soldiers had to force their way thru rabid mobs to rescue them.

The movie is based on the real trial of US Army pilots and crew that were part of the Doolittle Raid on Japan.

@AK... They knew they couldn't win a long war. They thought they would get an initial big victory, then a negotiated settlement. They did not understand the American fighting spirit. Their fate was sealed, when the first bomb fell on Hawaii.

The inhumanity, the sadistic, and the depraved behavior of japanese soldiers during WWII is one of the blackest spots in human history. One needs only to look at one of the favorite leisurely pastimes of the japanese soldiers who occupied the Philippines: playing bayonet toss-and-catch with infants and new-born baby's - in front of their parents. It is a crime that these and other perverted actions are not taught in japanese schools. But maybe they are following the lead of American republicans who want to expunge slavery and racial discrimination from US history.
