The Portland Trail Blazers have a huge offseason after getting the number 3 pick in next month’s draft. Will they use it to get Damian Lillard’s successor or will they trade it to get Dame the help he needs? Reports are conflicting but this is a look at what each scenario would look like. - Sport

We need a offseason video where we put great teams like Boston, LA, GSW and Milwaukee in one video for an offseason plan
ngl he kinda reminds of KG
It's not a discord link.
@@GrandTerr It is not. If you put in your email I will send you the link.
@@AMHoops i been saying it for a while if the blazers trade for a siakam, it really has to be a multi-player deal to improve their depth so it would have to be a siakam, boucher otto porter jr , or even a siakam og anunoby trade, ya its gonna cost 3, 24, sharpe and likely 2026 unprotected pick and 2023 2nd round pick and 2024 2nd round pick and filler but thats the kind of trade portland has to make if they really want to contend.
so do a video on sikam boucher otto porter jr going to portland, or og anunoby boucher otto porter jr going to portland or even siakam og anunoby going to portland and what it would take in compensation.
At this point nobody would be mad at Dame if he requests a trade.
except it would make him look like a punk and/or hypocritical, rme....
as a blazers fan i will be really happy if we keep pick and trade dame for some nice young players and few first round picks.
He might as well
@@hmrhuangnot at all, and every NBA fan wants to exile him from the team. If he wanted to leave, he would of got traded just after CJ did
@@brothaclutch984 except so many (ignorant and dumb) NBA fans have also admired him based on his loyalty alone. i've said it before and i'll say it again: there is no such thing as loyalty in pro sports!
Imagine a backcourt of scoot Henderson and shaedon sharpe. I think you have to trade Dame and make this happen because pairing Dame with an established star is almost impossible in Portland’s small market
Exactly. They still have simons as well
Definitely - what is the point in Dame at the blazers anymore unless they want one last go at trying to win (which they won’t do)
Really though move him to Milwaukee for what ever picks they have and jreu who can be moved at the deadline for more capital
Ask Trailblazers fans and they think Dame's not going anywhere. They would be kinda right in a sense that he's got a hard contract to trade, but it's the NBA. If Dame wanted to play for Golden State they'd find a way to make it happen.
@@fastbreakreportthat contract is hard, but the Celtics Bucks Suns Nets would give up anything to get him
Based on the thumbnail, Charlotte definitely shouldn’t take Miller. Even if Henderson is the same position as Ball 😂
Agree. After seeing many teams mess up in prior years. You don't draft of of fit, potential, etc. You draft the best player available! Behind Wemby, Scoot is that guy. If you have a player with Russell Westbrooks athletic ability, but smooth handles like Poole when he sees a baddy and a solid jumpshot, you gotta take him.
@@cedricasdfghjkl9151 You say that but you can see how while great Tatum/Brown are. They also seem too similar to really benefit from each other (at least this year). They can't pick and roll with them cause the defenders just switch cause its the same player basically. Not saying that Scoot/Melo are the same, you will not know till you see it. But I can guarantee whatever happens Charlotte will screw up with whoever they pick
Solid jump shot? What has Scoot done to make you think he has a solid jump shot?
He’s shooting 42% and 27% from 3
Nobody should be happy going to charlotte when Jordan is the owner. You might as well flush your youth away.
@@blablablaa14 that's not a fit problem tho, that's just a player problem. Tatum ain't that guy, no matter who you put with him it will be a but awkward
Scoot Henderson is a generational talent...come back to this when he's an all-star.
Then the hornets better draft him
@@Shortballa11 they are in a weird spot because of Lamelo being really good. maybe if Scoot can play SG but right now Lamelo the main man for them.
theyre not gonna get scoot every normal/smart nba gm knows to draft talent over fit and to develop the player. idk about the hornets tho, poverty franchise
@@Paylorek if anyone would play SG it would be LaMelo hes a better Shooter and is taller I think Scoots Ceiling at PG is alot higher than Melo
@@Paylorek I think Lamelo could actually play the off ball since he shoots better. Lamelo doesnt need the ball to run the offense, he just had a sucky team so he ball hogged a little
would like to see a off-season break down video for each team kinda like this
Great video, man, nice job.
Love the videos!
Love your takes brotha! Definitely earned a subscriber right here. These are exciting times indeed!
Just trade Dame instead of getting Dame help. Dame & Pascal Siakam will be a 2nd round exit at best. Even adding KAT (as per rumors) will not be enough to win the Championship.
These playoffs should show you we don’t know what’s gonna get you a championship or not.
@@Shortballa11 quite the opposite actually. You can't just have a rebuilding team and assume that they can go to the finals and win. Miami Heat was a threat since last year. They are inconsistent in the regular season but managed to get hot at the right time. This playoffs is an anomaly and we should appreciate it for what it is. We can't assume that next year will be as random as this year is.
@@P40L0H3NS0N buddy, they went to the Finals in 2020. They've been a threat for a lot longer than a year.
@@P40L0H3NS0N I think so too…#1 seeds folding like a lawn chair in the playoffs. 8th seed crushing a #1 seed. Thrown together teams making it to the playoffs. Definitely an anomaly
@@davidp420 they lost in the 1st round in 2021. Jimmy Butler didn't show up on that year's playoffs 🤷♂️
Knowing their recent history, they will keep the pick, draft a player and keep Lillard
They’ll draft the player and then trade him for an established star that is available
They only did that consistently in the past because they always would get the 15th pick at best and there’s not much of value there
I love your videos, please make more
Always excellent
This guy is so passive aggressive.. just say if you wanna leave or stay. he acts like he wants to win but he's comfortable there and I think he likes the no pressure environment, though he would never admit it
Hmmm….this could be true
If anything blazers hindered his career. Never got him help his whole time there. Wasted a hall of gamer in Portland
He hindered his own career he knew damn well the teams he was on was ass stop this they wasted his career narrative cause it's bullshit
@@am3lagrimas410 Exactly, but there's one tiny little problem.....HE CHOSE TO STAY!
Fantastic video keep it up you're doing amazing things

A.M Hoops releasing another VERY BIG W video. Thanks for the awesome content A.M Hoops!
Don’t listen to twitter. Your trades aren’t dumb. I think all of your videos/ideas are valid. This is my favorite channel on CZcams. Keep it up
Respectfully, Simons is Dames successor… Scoot is a great talent for sure but we’re putting way too much value into draft picks. Simons is already an elite combo guard, efficient, has already shown he can score it with the best of them and is still getting better. So the fact you just suggested building around Shadeon and Scoot for the future is insane
I think If they trade Dame and select scoot I'd build around simons, Sharpe and scoot that'd be a killer trio
@Michael Orme true but blazers flat out won't be able to build a contender unless a miracle happens I think it's best they get draft assets and build around a young core of simons and Sharpe
@Michael Orme: Not if they get some bigs who can defend, rebound and protect the rim.
As a Blazer fan: PLEASE TRADE DAME. It’s time. The era is over. We gotta move on with Sharpe + Ant + 3rd pick
Scoot is a franchise player and will change the organization he's similar to Ja Morant, and De'aaron Fox elite guards that are quick, explosive and can score at will and are playmakers, he's a All NBA talent 💯
I'd say a bigger more athletic chris paul, with the big hands and wingspan.
I won’t believe it until I see it, y’all was said the same for jalen green, Marvin bagley etc etc
Bruh stop it Scoot Henderson don't makes teams a playoff team
@@Justfranktbh It's about potential. Jalen Green had a lot of it, but he went to Houston owned by a Fertitta. Instead of learning NBA ball and having success, he developed ego and bad habits. Success in the NBA is mostly about mentality and maturity. Players that went undrafted can be legit starters through hard work and dedication (eating healthy, no drinking and partying,...). I would always draft players with a MJ or LeBron mindset (very different but both professional)..
@@theetruth8626 not now 3-4 years from now, obviously he needs good young talent to be rebuilding with him to make it happen.
The guy said they want to win - sounds like Dame is on the trading block to me.
Better now than later when that 60m per extension hits.
Too many overvalued and mediocre players on Portland as well as Dame earning MASSIVE cash makes this an all or nothing offseason.
Dame deserves every bit of them
0:00 Bro I thought dame was sittin at the draft for the blazers first glance😭
i think everyone.. n i mean everyone outside of portland is underrating what dame can do and how he can take over games and win with provided help.. he went to wcf with cj,aminu, hatless, kanter, even turner and Seth curry.. he’s had 8 straight playoff appearances he’s never played with a true allstar in his prime.. give dame a star (pascal/jb/pg) and watch what he does with it as long as the bench is build with depth of vets with playoff experience portland can become a contender by next October
they should 100% trade dame and build with scoot, this aint even a question, its finally time for the front office to show they can be competent and THINK
3:52 YRGGG🔥
What about Mikal Bridges Lite? Devin Vassell was compared to Mikal bridges, is fire from the outside and midrange, already in his 3rd year, seen positive trajectory both years, an amazing help defender, good on ball defender, and a San Antonio spurs project meaning he’s a character guy and a team player. (These guys always have value). Spurs are the rebuilding team so they might entertain give up Vassell (which would be hard as well because they really like him there) to help Dame. They might even include Collins who can return home on a fantastic contract and has absolutely become the player Blazers fans thought he would always be. Seems like a win win to me.
Great video, my thoughts exactly. A rollercoaster off season in the making. Personally, as a lifelong Blazers fan, I want a Scoot and Shae rebuild and Dame in Miami. I love Jimmy Butler and the Heat, so I could actually root for Dame down there as opposed to the Lakers, Clippers, or another rival WC team.
Ive seen a couple ideas.
1. Brown and White from the Celtics for Dame. I'm assuming Portland keeps their pick and just trades dame with this. Celtics receive Dame. Dame goes to an contender and is arguably much more happy. Portland Receives Brown and White, two awesome dudes to help start/accelerate their rebuild with pick 3 and Shadeon.
2. A three way trade between the Rockets, Nets, and Portland. The rockets give the Nets their first round picks back (which they own a lot.) They also absorb Ben Simmons off the nets salary using their cap space. The Nets give Portland Mikal Bridges (now i know in the video it showed the nets saying they arent interested in trading Bridges, but I think thats mainly because he's keeping them in contention and They don't own their own picks. So tanking would be terrible for them) and ig they could throw in something/someone extra to sweeten the deal. And Portland gives the Rockets Pick #3. With that the Rockets would have both Pick 3, and 4. The nets would have their future back and get rid of Ben who is a horrible stain on their roster, that's preventing some good signs. And Dame will have Mikal Bridges to add to his team to contend with (as well as whomever else they receive, and sign in free agency) .
This 🔥 I won’t lie
LaMarcus Aldridge said the same thing when Dame was drafted 🤣
You were right on both picks
I love Dame and want to see him do well
This is exactly what it's like to be a Blazers fan right now, it's like being in a toxic relationship.
The most realistic trade for win now is a three team trade celtics-raptor-trailblazer, if the celtics want to break up tatum n brown. More of a lateral move (retool) for each team except for raptors (getting young).
1. Raptors get 3rd pick+anfernee+ nasir+ maybe nurkic salary dump but he can still be productive + maybe boston 2024 pick
2. Trailblazer get jaylen brown + otto porter
3. Celtics get Pascal siakam + boucher + maybe raps 13th pick
This might work because:
1. Raptors can retool with younger asset, move up the draft and might get extra picks boston to replace own pick that got send to the spurs in 2024. Shaping the roster around og and barnes and the third pick. If van vleet resign/opt in then he can play as 6man.
2. Blazer get a star while retaining the knicks pick and own future picks and still have flexible cap space to resign jerami grant and other roleplayers (quality center/bigs). More importantly keep shaedon sharpe for future prospect. There is a chance for jaylen brown not resigning but it is pretty low bcs portland have bird rights and can renew contract for max. Yes you lose the 3rd pick but you have the chance to get all star+all nba caliber player in his prime for 5 season potentially instead of waiting 3-5 year. And have 3 timeline that can be retooled around (lilard 33yo/brown 26yo/sharpe high upside 19yo)
3. Celtics can rework their game plan to be more versatile. Pascal bring more interior scoring and playmaking (from the elbow and freethrow line), something that jaylen brown and tatum lacks (tunnel vision). Pascal can play center for small ball, boucher can be a small ball center and an interior scorer too plus they are championship experienced. Basically avoiding live and die by 3pts shooting, diversifying the offence.
We all know what’s going to happen Damian Lillard is going to want a trade out of Portland and he knows he’s not gonna win it here the Blazers are gonna go full rebuild , its the end of an era in Portland
Lillian’s probably waited too late
@@iamtheonlywilly You're right. He too old and that $60/mil/yr of salary is just too much for any team to take on, except for Portland. They will trade the number 3 pick.
God please send Damian Lillard to The Bucks with Giannis. Dame desperately wants to win a chip & he can have Alot off of his plate with A Superstar in his Prime, With Championship Experience and a two time MVP Hunrgy for his 2nd title.
Hes already a Lowkey out the way guy who's obviously worthy of a Big Market but prefers the smaller markets. It could be a real match made in heaven if all works out.
Giannis, Damian, Brook Lopez & DH?? Come on man that's a Squad.
God do whatever you have to do. Just make it happen.🤲
As a Blazers fan, they won't do anything like rebuild. And Dame is so apathetic, I don't think he'd actually protest if he went towards building more. This team is ran so incompetently none of what has to happen will, I guarantee it. That's just how it is. And I hate it. But its been 10 seasons of the same exact crap. I have no trust. Only pain. The rebuild needed to happen 2-3 seasons ago. And we desperately need new owners. New everyone actually. New Owners, Front Office, Training Staff, Development Staff AND roster.
its so funny that the Most Replayed is at the end of his sponser
I am looking forward to your Cody Zeller video.
Man said Himmy Butler I’m dying literally
3:51 LOL YourRage started the petition! That's awesome!
😂😂😂😂
as a pacers fan i hope they don't give up myles turner for simons and nurkic 😹
Blazers should check on Embiid availability....if that ain't an option then you have to start looking for destinations to trade Dame and rebuild
A M you’re doing a great job. I love your content and I’m allergic to BS👍
Dame should have left years ago, and Mikal Bridges ain't leaving Brooklyn. Dame should come to the NETS
Jonathan is saying that because Mike (his friend) is in the Blazer org yes you are correct BUT, Im guessing hes just building interest or value in the pick for his friend.
There is nobody Portland can get to put next to dame at this point
dame be like: i want to compete but give me all cap space money so that you cant hire other players
I like the Butler-Lilliard connection
We gone talk about your rage signing that petition 😅
Portland should swap picks w/ Indiana and get Turner back in the deal. They'd still have a high-ish draft pick and they'd shore up their defense in the process. Might even be able to flip said pick for a guy like Derozan.
I'm sure that the Blazers would have to include Simons, but getting Turner and the number 7 pick I didn''t think about that deal, then who would you take at 7 if you're the Blazers.
Speaking for Indy, we do not want to trade Turner especially not for a guard. Simons is nice but we’re looking for wings. Plus Nurkic is a big downgrade.
Dame needs more than 1 guy.... They need a whole team turnaround. Though Portland keeps wanting to win now, the timeframe is not on Dame's time. Dame in Miami might turn heads though.
As long as he doesnt go to the lakers ill be happy. He's given everything to portland and they have time after time fumbled the situation and to make dame play through a rebuild, i couldn't blame him at all for wanting to move on
As someone who follows the Blazers, Ayton is not an upgrade from Nurkic. Not the way the Blazers are currently constructed. OG Anunoby would have a better impact.
Joel embiid. He’s worth a 3 pick and the 76ers priority are to get back Harden. I think getting the 3 for the 76ers and than dame has superstar mvp big man. It’d work both ways
Idk man imagine trying to keep both. Try to get them to play with each other would be crazy if it works. But they do need a big still and it will still take 3 years to work probably
my take: Trade dame get a shit load of picks, squad depth, and a near-allstar bigman that can stay healthy then develop scoot, shaedon, anfernee, jerami and all your bench plaayers from the dame trade
Grant is 29…
Makes sense, except that Grant part. That means Portland isn't gonna do it.
No point in overpaying Grant if you not keeping Dame.
To the sixers. They will have the cover of trading Dame to a contender.
Also Maxey can be treated to a third team
Trading Dame and rebuild is the best for both parties. Portland is a small market, doesn't have enough pieces to shop around for a super team, and Dame's stock is good right now. Dame need to accept stay for the loyal image and never win or go to a team can win, its his own legacy unless his goal is to be Reggie Miller.
That 3 team deal is not a good trade.
Pacers turn that down, they already have Mathurin at the SG, they don’t need Simons and Nurkic is downgrade from Turner.
Ayton won’t change anything for Portland.
What in the world is that proposed trade? That provides ZERO benefit to the Pacers. Turners a better center, and we already have arguably too many guards as is. Love your content man, but that twitter user was on to something talking about dumb trades.
Pretty much ANY team in the league would be thrilled to have Dame on the roster, he needs to bite the bullet and demand a trade. Nobody is going to blame him for it, he’s done more than enough for Portland. He has nothing left to give them, and they’ve shown time and time again that they can’t do anything for him. #FREEDAME
not rage signing the signature 😂
Dame and Himmy would be one of the most clutch duo in nba history
Knicks get: #3 pick, Jerami Grant (via S+T to make the money work)
Blazers get: Julius Randle, '24 1st via Dallas, '25 1st via NYK
Blazers get their sure fire all-star to complement Dame and bring them to a much higher floor while still leaving room for even a 3rd star in Portland with Julius' low salary. Knicks futureproof their team by bringing in a young talent like Miller or Scoot, plus dramatically improve spacing and defense by adding Grant, who Portland was going to lose for nothing anyway.
The time is now.
Doing right by dame ironically is doing best by the blazers too.
You got a good young core already and dame can be the reason to catapult the rebuild.
Sharpe Simon’s and the number 3 gives you 3 foundation pieces.
Call up okc. Have them give you Williams, giddey, and only a few firsts.
Okc gets a 3 of shai dame and Chet. Plus they have 10’more firsts. Dame gets another small market team he can lead. Thunder can do it because they have 30 mill in cap plus the 2 players to get close to the dame contract.
Blazers have probably the best squad under under 22 with their own picks plus a few extra.
Then sign and trade grant with nurkic for Ayton. Phoenix does that in a heartbeat.
That’s a quick and easy rebuild with much more to be done.
Develop your young guys. Get another top 5 pick next year. You’ll be fine. Most of your guys will still be on rookie deals with a full year of starter mins
idk maybe the hornrts will draft scoot. the warriors also wanted to play lamelo with curry but ended up drafting wisemen. lamelo also can play the 3 with hus height. but brandon mikker would be the easiest option
Can u put ur phone on silent please when u make videos. I’m out here trying to find my phone and then realising I’m watching this video on it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If they trade him they better at least get that Rudy Gobert type package. They shouldn't even have to throw anything else in with him besides to make the money match. Dame is that good. He's probably still got three or four elite years left barring injury.
Well, how things are looking for the celtics and lakers we'll see some interesting trades and the possibility that lebron might retire? Is it time to blow up both teams.?
bro this dude has the best picks I swear to god
Look, coming from a Blazers fan who wants Dame to win, while also thinking it’s smarter to trade Dame, they’re trading the pick. I think this is the first time in Dames tenure that they actually have the trade pieces to trade for an all star without blowing up the roster. Trade Simons plus the 3rd and maybe more picks for Markkenan or Siakem, let Sharpe move to the starting lineup, and run it back
lol. Dame is loyal to you blazers his whole career just to get traded. Y’all wasted his career.
He wasted his own damn career preaching that loyalty bullshit 😅😅😅
Pretty hard to build a team around somebody in a small market when there’re making 60 milly a year
@@am3lagrimas410 well let's be real they should have traded him when they traded cj
@@halfsquat2363 agree, and having a top three talent on that rookie contract is the polar opposite. But it’s Dame and he is the last loyal alpha star we may ever see.
Pick by talent not by need. Except very specific circumstances
Fans gotta live with the team long after stars leave. But, Dame is loyal like Dirk, or Duncan, or Kobe. He’s the last of a rare breed. Either trade him and rebuild the right way, or trade up to get studs that can play.
Malcolm Brogdon your next video A.M. Hoops 🙏🙏🙏
i was thinking they should rebuild, jaylen brown and derrick white for damian lillard and draft a forward either amen or asuar thompson, that would create a more exciting young core
If you're Damian Lillard, you would probably want to join a team that's got high aspirations for a NBA Championship.
The Trail Blazers now as it stands, probably doesn't have the all-star talent or potential necessary to keep up with the big boys in the west (Nuggets, Warriors, Lakers).
At this point, it's tough to tell how they should approach Lillard despite winning the lottery with the #3 pick.
Yesss it time to win basketball games not adjusting for the draft and trade waiting for the big deal that would take them to the championship not only the blazers but the entire teams
1) You're including a petition started by someone who's been exiled from every online blazers community for being toxic which is an insult to Dame
2) You're suggesting we trade a 22 ppg scorer and elite 3-point shooter anfernee for a failed pick in Ayton which is an insult to the Blazers front office
3) You're suggesting Dame to the Heat just because that's something you'd like to see. We don't want Herro we would deal to the Nets or something.
Disappointing you finally address our team's situation and fill it with clickbait and hot takes.
The only reasonable way you trade that pick is if you get Embiid back for him. Otherwise, they should build around Sharpe, Simons and whoever that #3 pick ends up being.
I think it would be a good idea for the hornets to trade lamelo, for a different star perhaps a SF and draft scoot. To me this could seem realistic because lamelo keeps getting indured and scoot is another great PG
Fax
You're saying to make trades with so many other teams, but ignore the bulls. If scoot is truly available during the draft, expect the bulls to make a move for scoot. Zach would be the key piece of the trade
Im sorry, but scoot is not going #3
im saying, always draft talent over fit
Depends on the hornets
You are underestimating the Hornets incompetence
@@Shortballa11
Hornets have been drafting ok the last few years.
I will always mess w dame, he from the bay, real bay area ppl got respect and love for dame. He needa to be on the big stage like Jamal
it’s crazy how badly you read situations lmao
Hearin bro mention yourrage as a fan is wild to me ☠️
Gotta draft scoot for the future when dame is gone chasing his rings
Scoot will be a top 3 point guard within 2-3 years. I don’t think it’s worth trading for anybody but lebron or a combo of siakam/og
I also think Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown are outside shots at trading for
Embiid probably stays in PHI though if the Sixers give Harden a max. Brown on the other hand… ehhh…
As for trading for Ayton, sure, but you better hit on the #3 pick if not Scoot. Amen Thompson or Cam Whitmore would likely be it.
betting on mpj assists is so risky 😂😂
Nets would give up anybody other than Bridges
For a guy who hasn’t won much in the playoffs, he sure has a whole lot of opinions 😂
Dame does not want to leave... being a loyal superstar is easier than winning a championship. Its a calculated move.
Being a loyal superstar and one of the big ifs... is his legacy. Having a couple big games every season is enough to keep him in the conversation.
If he leaves now, nobody will be talking about him after a decade.
The problem is that the supporting cast around Damian isn't doing their part to contribute as scorers in order to win games.
If Lillard wants to chase a ring, he needs to find a team that's on pace to get to that goal.
Actually tanking will be even more difficult under the new CBA. And now, the Blazers have a dilemma - either keep chugging along with Dame and be a play-in team at best, or being mediocre forever and ever as no top free agent will ever willingly sign there and be a...play-in team at best. And before anyone starts yelling "Look at OKC" - don't you understand that the new CBA will make stockpiling picks even more worthless. Sam Presti cashed in when the opportunity was still open.
OKC VIDEO NEXT PLEASE 😁🙏🏾

Jimmy butler at 18:13
scoooot handerson really good talentend rookie i really like him
Mind as well trade him
Dame is getting traded, and the ayton trade idea is awful, dude has shown multiple times he has no motor, he can’t handle the pressure of a second option let alone a fourth like he is rn, they trade dame for picks/young talent draft scoot and build around players on the same timeline cause they got good pieces just need a few defensive guys and in a few years they got a shot
