- The BRCC team will head to Normandy on D-Day for the 80th anniversary, BUT FIRST, they need to get static lined certified. Who better than the Round Canopy Parachute Team (RCPT) to help them out. The RCPT is an organization dedicated to honoring the history of Allied Airborne Forces past, present, and future. Their dedication to increase awareness and educate the public about the sacrifices and heroism of Allied Paratroopers from WWII onward is honorable and extraordinary.

This is going to be one of the most wonderful moments of my life. I’m the grandson of a man that flew in these skies in World War II. The greatest generation is something that should be appreciated, celebrated, and remembered. The two times that we die are once when we stop breathing and the second time when someone stop saying our names. I never wanna stop celebrating the courage of these men.

I fly for United Airlines and on June 3rd we’re doing a memorial flight from Chicago to Paris with D-Day Veterans that we’ll carry on to Normandy for the 80th anniversary.
United is covering all expenses for them and their families, and the flight will be staffed entirely by veterans - from the pilots, flight attendants, gate agents, and ground crew.
I’m honored to be working that flight, what a privilege. We’ll certainly make it a special day for these living legends.

@@ga712 Got the photo and DD-214. He never talked about experiences. We only knew he was a gunner and plane name. Our family waited for a year for the series to debut. I never imagined that quiet, sweet man was such a total bada$$.
A good old series on the history channel called “suicide missions” or “dangerous missions” they have a few episodes about WW2 bombers over Europe. Really interesting stuff.
My grandfather lied about his age in order to join. They found out he was 16 days before they were to head Europe. Every man in his unit died on Utah Beach. Two and half years later he married my grandmother. They had 17 children, 67 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Please say a prayer for me while you are over there? Thank you and God bless you all for never forgetting.
My neighbor and my great grandfather were both in the war. My neighbor was stationed at Pearl Harbor in the navy when it was attacked and later went on to fight in the pacific theater. My great grandpa was in the british indian army and fought in Burma alongside the Gurkha’s.
My grandfather joined up in 1920 (lied to get in,was only 14) , 6 months before Pearl Harbor his calvary unit turned in their horses for trucks and halftracks. He transferred to field artillery and participated in North Africa, Italy and went ashore at Omaha beach. I remember him telling stories about the war, he never talked about combat. But about his fellow soldiers and liberating civilians during the campaigns.
Thank you BRCC for doing this, keeping the greatest generation alive through this( my grandfather passed in 83), and all you do for our fellow veterans.
I was fortunate to do the full Normandy tour this past 4th of July. Learning that all of the headstones face west so the fallen can all face home, and hearing taps being played was immeasurably emotional.
My grandpa was there, 1/504 PIR 82 ABN he wasn’t supposed to jump on D-Day but he was a pathfinder and they needed all of the pathfinders. When the war was finally won he was sent to Berlin to occupy the town. We lost him a few years ago.
Great uncle Jumped on D-Day with HQ 3/507th PIR. Landed near Graingnes with the other misdrops. Made it out.... not so lucky during Op. Varsity Jump on 24 March 1945. KIA near Wessel, Germany. Thanks much for keeping this all alive for the subsequent generations.
My great grandpa landed on the beaches at Normandy on D-Day. Till the day he died he could still tell you the names of all the guys he served with. He could tell you their names, about their families, where they were from, what they were like, everything. He told me that he made it off the beach that day and so many of his guys, his brothers, didn’t. And that’s why he had to remember everything about them. Because if he (and if America at large) forgot them, then they would truly die.
I’ve got his journals with all that in them. So now keeping his boys alive is my job.
THANK YOU GENTS ..... I am 60 now ( served w/ the CND armed forces years ago ) But I remember the stories my 3 uncles told me ... when they were in Monte casino Italy ... thank you again for doing this
It will always be hard to grasp the sheer level of balls on these men that jumped from these planes and landed on these shores, I can only offer the greatest amount of respect to this generation that went and gave their lives for what they believed in.
I served for five years in Air Defense Artillery. I’ve got a total of zero hours of experience jumping out of airplanes and I want to experience this. Both of my grandfathers served. Major Carl Barr was a navigator in the 455th bomber group and Captain Dale Roby served in the Pacific as an Island Hopper. I hope to stand where they stood.

My father served with 82nd AB as a child his story’s about this moment in history were painful limited. Along with 6 of his 7 brothers all served in WWII & Korea. One gold ⭐️ and 5 blue. Thank you BR for your respect and service to America 🇺🇸
When I first enlisted in the Army, I ask my wife's great grandfather for military advice since he was a WWII veteran. I was the only person he ever opened up about his war stories and his military experiences. It was such a great honor. I remember his sons,grandsons and great grandsons were mad because he never talk to them about it.
Grandpa was a 101st - 517th Airborne. And Fought in France Love seeing you guys Do this 🤙🏻🇺🇸

My granddad and my uncle were part of it. Granddad being part of 7th armoured which also went against Gen Rommel's army in Africa and my uncle a Spitfire pilot during the war
Wish i had a chance to meet them as they passed away before me but their memories lived on through their diaries, their kids and all the documentaries and work from the ppl who worked hard to keep their memories and sacrifices alive.
The crew at Palatka are awesome people. They celebrate those brave men every year. I work for Putnam County Fire/Rescue and have been there for calls during their annual get togethers, and they treat us like royalty. They deserve so much recognition for their dedication to keeping the memory alive.
I miss my grandfather. He was a great man and a great pilot. From WWII through the end of Vietnam. What an interesting experience you guys had being able to meet some of the guys that were there. Well done.
My grandfather was a glider pilot flew a cg4a into Normandy on d-day.

They are the greatest generation 🇺🇸. This and the rest of our history should be taught and ingrained in our classroom, from elementary through college. They are who and why our country is the best on this Earth.
Gave me chills. Well done gents! Grandson of 30yr marine in Pearl Harbor on the USS Tennessee on a quad gun crew shooting at planes and taking Iwo Jima getting bayoneted in the back and bronze star. Died at 96, loved swapping stories with him. He is the big reason I served. Thanks for keeping the memories alive.

I was 4f I wish I could have served. My grand father guadicanal my uncle 10th mountain in Italy uncle's in Nam. Great grandpa WW1 France his grandfather civil war. Thank you all for your service
I’ve being lucky enough and privileged enough, to have jump into Normandy, as part of the British remembrance to D-Day. It makes you think, how may of them never made it home.
My Grand dad was the youngest of 11 kids and joined the navy at 16 in WWII. I asked him why once and he said it was the right thing to do and they had food.

Bringing our 4 boys under 10 years old to Normandy a year ago was truly humbling to what these great men had to face and the commitment made to securing freedom for the world. God bless the fallen and those who and are serving.

My father-in-law, RIP, was 82nd Airborne. Jumped in Italy and Europe. Shrapnel hole in his left forearm, about 1/2 way up, 1/2 way thru from, entered from directly above.
Tough oil rig worker for Schlumberger - His entire career, start to finish. Retired while stationed in Houston. Met his daughter at a church camp outside of Searcy, AR USA. Camp Wyldewood
So I was especially kind to my mother-in-law. Yes ma'am. Yes ma'am. And the soldiers daughter... 🤣. Yes sir.
45th anniversary this year, June 15th, and she's still my beautiful bride.

My father was the in Europe- 95th Infantry Division. Thank you gentlemen.
Those are my favorite moments. Being able to stand where men before me changed history. Haven't had the opportunity to visit Normandy yet but have got to go to pearl harbor and that was a sobering experience. To live my best life for those who gave theirs so I could live free. Not just for myself but for my brothers and sisters that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for service to our great country. Thank you for remembering and honoring The Greatest Generation. And thanks for making great coffee!

Incredible, I was able to walk the beaches and Mt. Suribachi in IWO. Just a feeling you get being there, training all these decades later, I can't imagine jumping into Normandy!

It's a great thing knowing that others appreciate these amazing men who gave EVERYTHING to protect what/who they love. That was certainly the last generation of REAL men. I wish more people understood how different things could have been had these men not been so courageous..so driven. It's something that I think about all of the time. Whenever I met a World War II veteran, I could thank them and shake their hand..time and time again but that was never enough..

Very cool! Those guys had huge brass balls to jump into Normandy.
My old man signed up the day they announced the War Began.
He had to lie about his age, but they didn't care.
He wound up in the 82nd Airborne and spent a full 20.
He had a scar across his belly that he called the zipper.
Every time he would get blown up, shot, what have you, they would use the same line go in pull out whatever Hardware there was.
Then stitching him back up and send him on his way.
He didn't have me until he retired and went into civil service at Fort Ord.
I remember him complaining about aches in his legs and every once in awhile a tiny piece of shrapnel would come to the surface.
Part of his job was to take photographs.
They had to use slide film because the detail was finer.
I'll never forget those boxes, there was one in particular that was taken in Germany.
It was the middle of winter.
It was a silhouette of a tree with three Nazi officers swinging.
Every generation in my family served. My grandfather in the Army Air Corps. Sacrificial B-17 waist gunner knew he wasn’t flying back. They fielded all the flac to make target ammo site in France. Luckily he was booted out of the plane into Bay of Biscay. POW until the end of the war. His son was Vietnam, I was Shield/Storm.

My great grandfather joined the army paratroopers in 1943 trained out in Georgia and was shipped over to Europe to take part in the largest invasion. He jumped into Normandy, Holland, froze half way to death, and jumped into Germany.

both my grandparents served one in the marines and one army one fought on the army boxing team snd was winning the championships sadly i never got the chance to meet either of them but they held me when i was only a couple yr old

I went over to Normandy last year and took a tour of Utah Beach as well as St.Mere Eglise town square were the 82nd held the town until reinforcements came up from Utah Beach

My grand father crossed Omaha…twice..apparently he left something on the landing craft…he never spoke about the war even after I got back from Iraq…can’t wait to see him in Valhalla and hear those stories.

My uncle's grandparents did their part during ww2 his grandpa was captain of a mortar platoon under general patton and his grandmother taught the gunners for us air force
My Grandfather; 504th, 508th, 509th. My Dad; 327th, SOF Medic. Me; 504th, 2ID LRSD. Three generations of jumpers and a lifetime of memories.
