- Originally this video was going to be a 10 min flashback but I thought Christof's near concussion deserved more. On our way to climbing Blanca Peak we stop off at Great Sand Dunes National Park to try something new, sandboarding. We were having a great time until Christof became overconfident and decided to taste the sand. Let no one say he never sent it on a sandboard.
You guys should do a collab with Cody Townsend's series about skiing the 50 classic ski descents in NA. It would be super cool!
OakleafWarrior I was just watching the 50 and thinking the exact same thing! These guys are legends and could totally show Cody around and ski with him.
I thought the same thing when I saw the TGR hat. I do think he knocked out most of the lines in Utah though.
Yes!!!
The only problem is that their true reality approach to documenting their adventures would nullify Cody's over dramatizations and virtue signaling to his millennial base.
@@wayphun72 That is one big negative with his videos. Glad I wasn't the only one to notice his woke climate pandering.
I drove out Summer of 19 from PA to Colorado and camped for 3 weeks. This was our last stop... Stayed for 3 days and did the Medano Pass. Such a spectacular park! The stars were incredibly bright at night with clear skies and no light pollution.
You were in my stomping grounds. First weekend trip when I bought my Silverado was Medano Pass.
I'm sold. That goes straight in my bucket list 🤩
Dude it's amazinggg
Always admire his clean their sunglasses lens are. Spotless.
This video made my day in an otherwise depressing time lol. I am from East Tennessee, and this is one of the 5 or 6 things that you guys have done that I have also. Climbing up those dunes is no joke, its exhausting! Come out and do a video in the Smokies! Climb Mt. Leconte or something, you guys would love it!
Brandon Hall I was in the Smokies Sunday thinking the same thing! (Another East Tennesseean here. Hope you and yours are well in these wild times.)
I had a blast myself vacationing in TN. You have pretty country to play in ! We tube, hiked, and visited The Great Smoky Mountains.
Brandon Hall the smokies are decent but the hikes are kinda beginner... I grew up in the south
PhaseSkater yeah, a hard hike there is a pretty medium hike where I live now (Washington)
Never a dull moment. Well maybe the first run. 🤪 Danny your channel has become one of my favorite on CZcams. Y'all keep me young and remind me how much fun I had growing up in the edgemont 8th ward. Before Burton was even accompany my friends and I would wax the bottom of our and snowboard /sled down the Churchill. Winterstick was the only snowboarding company at the time and I believe about we were about seven or eight years old. Priceless memories, thanks for bringing them back and for all of your amazing adventures that you share with us. 🙏🏼☮️💙
Heber 4th, Lindsey hill👍
Kudos on that sound editing with Christoph crash and Bizet's Habanera!
The music choice is on point ..lol
Years ago I went down one of those sand dunes on a snow disk and I went so fast I thought I was going to break my neck!
Absolutely hilarious watching the slow-mo of Christoph wiping out!!! You guys are an awesome bunch thanks as always for sharing your awesome adventures they are such a joy to watch :)
30 seconds in and im already liking where this is going! you guys rock, inspiration to get out there!
I was looking for your video in times like this. Need to refill my motivation level and your videos always help. Best wishes guys. 👊👊👊
Love Great Sand Dunes. Great video as always!
Welcome to the Sangres! This was pretty funny to watch 😆
You guys are the greatest. Also the music was superb.
From the lyrical line of- It’s like Lawrence of Arabia to eating sand in several scenes, this was so comical. Loved the different approaches to riding, like a wave. Caught on to you guys around a year ago went thru most your catalogue. Then coming back again. And they’re still so much fun!
Welcome to catching an edge!
Love the videos. Especially the ones in Colorado because I’m familiar with most of the peaks you hike. You guys should have done the Crestone Needle while you where there. Weren’t far away. The Sangre De Cristos are beautiful.
I love that place. It's surprisingly exhausting hiking to the top of the dune.
Great job y'all! I missed you guys on Blanca by two weeks. I summited on 29 Feb 2020.
Drove by here on the way from monarch mountain in Salina down to Taos New Mexico. Didn’t think it was worth stopping at. Looked boring from the distance. The mountains around them were super pretty though. Thanks for the upload though. This video makes them look much bigger. I may have to go check them out
Blanca is a sweet hike, except the road in is torturous. I'm hyped for the next video.
Love that you're in Colorado!! 👍 Come see how fast you can do The Incline in Manitou & finish the ascent with a hike up Pike's Peak!
This incline is closed right now unfortunately
K. V. Great idea!
Beautiful video
Beautiful footage. Welcome break from the apocalypse.
Love the dunes! Made it out there last year to board down star dune. My girlfriend took an epic fall (hurt in pride, only) down star dune for some amazing go-pro footage.
it’s hilarious to watch these guys, insane skiers and ridge tacklers, struggle with sandboarding
Nice! Love the shots.
Love you guys - keep it up!
y'all are in our backyard! stoked that you enjoyed your Sand Dunes time! Dewa (12) and i hit it up all the time! stoked to see how you do on the Sacred Peak of the East! head bowed,
Wow, cool shots!
Nice! We made a video sand boarding in Death Valley. So much fun
Looks like great fun. I am familiar with Indiana Dunes NP, nothing like Great Sand Dunes NP, but enough to know that those hikes back up are awfully tough on the legs!
I wish you released more content. I've watched all your videos 2 times over
One of my favorite videos I have watched several times to make me 😁
That looks fun!!!
I love the great sand dunes! theres an awesome gator farm that rescues reptiles and other exotic animals in the area too
What happened to Blake? Did he fall off the edge of the earth? He + Danny = comedic relief! Miss him but love to Danny Matt and Christophe! Keep climbing, struggling, and living in the age of Distancing..... looking forward to continuing the Adventure!
Exactly..where is Blake.?
I’ve been wondering this for awhile now too
Bring back the Blake. That guy hardly ever dies.
Blake is my spirit animal
I think something with conflicting schedules/availability
Great place... Love that place.
Another new video!! Awesome!!! :)
Looks like fun!
That was a riot! Hope Christoff's headache ended up not being too bad.
Sweet stuff guys. You going up the Zapata lake route? Super fun mountain one of my favs in CO
If you want to do a really unique challenge, the world's highest sand dunes (elevation-wise) are where I'm originally from. Dunas Federico Kirbus, in Catamarca, Argentina. Plus, it's not terribly far from Ojos del Salado, the world's tallest volcano.
I was just at Blanca Peak, must’ve just missed you guys!
I used to live close as hell, so cool!
5:29 is that a wet loose avalanche? Haha. Great video guys, it looked really fun
That’s so much damn fun man ugh I wish I had buddy’s like this
Lest go man
Blanca Peak is great. Definitely worth the climb.
Hey! I have never done this before so I will point the board straight down hill!
Abrasive Cleansing -- the great new album dropped from our favorite band Mediocre Amateur!
AWESOME!!!
So cool
Are you gonna upload a video for Blanca??
I went sandboarding Ica Peru around 10 years ago. The dune buggy driver was hammered and ended up getting us stuck in the middle of nowhere. It's tougher than it looks.
Driven past them 20 or 30 times, never made the stop. One of these days I ought to check them out.
....
I used to do this as a kid with an old skate board deck. At a construction site near me. Would put coat hangers through the holes and strap to our feet.
You guys need to do some adventure on Pike's peak. Its a huge mountain with so many ways to summit
Pikes is pretty tame for what they normally do, although it would be kinda interesting to see how fast they could run the Barr trail.
@@danieljensen2626 Barr is lame. So maybe different routes to the summit
Cruise on up to Pueblo, CO and MTB Lake Pueblo State Park, or kayak the Arkansas River !
I hope you are planning some stuff in new mexico
Epic!
Epic!! Helmets maybe??
Was that a Seahawks hat I saw at the beginning??
6:00 LOL perfect.........
Dynafit will have a new category now.
Hell ya boys! Another fine video. And of course...who eats shit, hahaha, I`m dying. Oh man, when you ``hook` on a board`it is so devastating. cheers!!!! That was fun.
How many times did you guys ski down in total? The up climb was so exhausting.
Looks fun! I can tell you guys are skiers not boaders!
how tall is Christoph and what size Dynafit shirt does he wear? I'm between a small and medium and can't decide which way to go and can't find a retailer that will let me try them on until covid becomes more manageable. thanks for any help you can give me!
I say I'm 5'11'' but probably closer to 5'10'':) I wear a medium.
You guys should do the entire Appalachian Trail.
whewre you got your board?
Is Cristof wearing kayak pants?
Note the tallest sand dune in north america is in fact bruneau dunes in south western idaho but great sand dunes are the biggest the largest
Can't wait for quarantine life to be over so I can try this!
Please do Gannett Peak in Wyoming! Even more props if you can do it in one night.
Isn't Gannett Peak like 50 miles though? That would be some achievement
@@H7B2ify they went R2R2R in the Grand Canyon in one day, which is 44ish miles and about 12k vert. There's already people on CZcams who have done it...search "Gannett in a day"
There aren't many people who can pull off Gannett in 24 hours, but they are definitely within that small group.
Come ride the dunes in Florence OR, where we make these boards. We dont have any dunes nearly this tall but lots of plants make good jumps and technical runs.
Oh my gosh, I felt so bad for Christoph. That crash looked awful. I hope he didn't hurt himself too badly.
Poor Christophe lol
Great footage. One of your ex girlfriends gave this a thumbs down! Fun stuff
FIrst to comment, bet this get lots of views, stay safe folks✝🙏
Was the park free enter?
As I remember there was a entrance booth
Out of curiosity... what happened to Blake?
Rented sand boards? Dude your skis will totally work on that sand, been doin it for years. Sand, mud, and grass works fine, fine and coarse gravel is uncontrollable instant death
Yeah but who wants to sand blast the bases off a nice pair of skis.
@@paghal11 just ski on your old crappers
@@rkowenwyo Leave my crapper out of it, thank you very much. And it's not "old" just mature. Been around the block a few times, is all.
Well that's one way to wear a mustache.
Few things are as much of a work out as walking on sand... except for climbing on sand. It's brutal.
You guys had to rub a type of chalk on the under side of the bored to make it slick enough to slide all the way down with out slowing down in the middle of it, its fine, but do it next time!
I was!!!!!!!! A,m from Kazakhstan!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys def are not snowboarders I take it!
Y'all will clog the shower drain tonight!
Ruined my IPod nano doing this some years ago 😂
#MAXIMUMVELOCITY
I went sand boarding once. Same as Christof. Solid head slam into the sand. Yeah. Nah.
that kinda looks like snowbourding you should have carved
No helmets guys???!??!?!?!? come on!
SO MUCH WHINING
I take my first comments back 😁.
This was not motivational but lots of fun. I saw a constant strategic attempt by both Danny and Matt to see Christof crash and injure himself - don't know why 😆
Glad to see everyone getting an abrasive sand wash at the end 👌✌️

Make some turns.
The spurious direction collectively carve because methane logically consider towards a shivering august. well-groomed, somber record
Those sand boards are for children.
