Wow! What a wonderful tutorial. Thumbs up 👍🏼 Pls if I may ask, when is the best time to change engine oil? Early in the morning when the engine is cool or after a busy day when the engine is hot? I’m asking coz of viscosity and complete drain of the oil???

I like that you explain why you are not using the correct oil. 229.5 is actually what you want that doesn't have to be mobil 1 and if it is Mobil 1 needs to be their 0w40 product. Other options include castrol 0w-30 or castrol 0w-40. Anything with 229.5 approval on bottle. It is best to use these as the mercedes spec is truly one of the toughest specs out there. Also if you buy the Mann oil filter on amazon it is identical to oem and then if you use mobil 1 0w40 you can go full service interval. When not using correct oil like this, it helps a lot that you are only going 5000 miles.

+kimi911 agreed, why go with conventional on a supercharged engine that takes a lot of punishment? ive got a 99 c230 kompressor sport and there are a LOT of good options that adhere to 229.3

The best value for the filter wrench is the CTA Tools A267: 74.5mm x 14 Flute, 3/8” square drive.

Can someone tell me how often you change your oil in a 2000 c230? I was told once every two years. Once every ten thousand miles once every five tho miles. Which is it? Just bought it without manual

every 5000-6000 miles for Mobil1 Full Synthetic and 3000 miles max for conventional oil. No more than 12 months intervals, 6 months preferred.Depends on the conditions under which the car is being used. If it is used 50%city/50%highway I would change 6000 miles max!! Because in city it is to much stop&go driving and a lot of idling so despite the mileage there is other factor called motor hours - meaning that when you stand the engine is still running so there is wear. It all depends how long you want your engine to last. The more frequent you can afford changing, the longer it will last. Rough estimate is 6000 max for synthetic every 6 months

I can't find the siren for the car alarm on my 2000 kompressor m/b c230.
I've looked under the mud flap on the right front tire well and I found nothing. I also looked in the trunk &the passenger side floor panel and nothing. Please help me out if you know where to locate it

@@tarrynpursel9100 same, engine doesn't give me too many problems. Suspension and body is just crap though. Replacing whole suspension with coil overs and new parts. After that it's a fun reliable car if you maintain it right. Seen them last up to 500k. Not worth the money you put into it though, they're undesirable and you'll lose every single penny.
