@@jordanbenson2980 think he was probably implying bands like trivium, yeah prog bands do but generally even 11 mins is quite long for some prog bands and people going to a prog show expect that. There's a band called bellwitch I don't know if you know them it's like funeral doom one of there songs is a 1 song album and they've done that live, think it's like 45 mins or something

Shogun is a modern metal masterpiece. Perfet from beginning to end. Wish they'd go back to that style.
I agree.. its my favourite album of theirs. However, there's a solid splattering of this 'style' in their last 3 albums which have all been unreal. Certainly best music they've made since Ascendancy and Shogun.
I fucking love Shogun, album and song, but The Court of the Dragon has multiple epics as well that are amazing!

Court of the Dragon was pretty close. What I miss more is Matt doing shouted vocals live.
Don't take this the wrong way, but do the camera operators/producers realize that when Corey plays his solo we may want to see him instead of everything else. Show the king some camera love lol

I like how my fingers look almost like Matt’s when he plays , lol. But yeah, it’s not impossible. It takes hours each day to master playing and singing together. Glad to finally say I can do that also.
As a fan from ascendancy as a teenager; its incredible to see where this world has become. I went from having to hog a television to watch the gunshot music video on demand with my friends. We would go nuts over the solos. Now they are just filming as quality of videos while theyre touring; at any given time. I love how raw this is. No bullshit. Just the best metal band on the planet melting faces.

I've been listening to you guys for 8 years. The show in 2020 was cancelled in Thailand due to covid. During that time, I was in High School in Thailand. A year later I came to study in Madison and got to see you guys live there. It was really an amazing night.

This entire album is an absolute banger. Fuckin' masterpiece of a metal album. I remember hearing Kirisute Gomen in 2008 right before the album came out and just knew what was in store. 2008 was a great year for metal. "The Way Of All Flesh" came out that year as well and also "Wrath" if I remember correctly. Goddamn, that was best time of my life.

I used to work at a brewery. When I wanted people to start leaving I'd blast this song every single night. The people that remained were few but I soon figured out that there are still people that love good metal.

Incredible, my favorite song of that album SHOGUN, i remember my teenager era with this masterpiece.
This was the song that got me into trivium and they are now one of my favorite bands and I've seen them twice and really hoped to hear this song live but they almost never play it. Still had a hell of a good time seeing them though

After all these years I don't understand how he still sounds like he's holding back all the time like a bumblebee suffering from a cold. I get being careful with your voice but this is offputting. They're one of my all-time favorite bands but I wouldn't even go see them live with these vocals.
@@winterbear8633 I get you but you´ll either have to accept that this is how he does it now or don´t. There´s no turning back. We´re lucky he somewhat recovered and is still playing shows and records albums. Vengeance falls could have been the last album or Matt could have been replaced.
@@DangeHD I still don't get how Matt from Bullet can still do mean screams after messing up his voice but Heafy can't. But I appreciate your perspective!
@@winterbear8633 Matt Heafy can still do screams like before, but he rarely uses those live. All studio recordings have his old screaming in it. Matt from Bullet either has mastered the right screaming technique to sound really good or he sometimes doesn´t give a f*ck and just goes for it.
