watch out for small labs though because you might be working in isolation with little to no resources and still be expected to generate a paper

Please define resources. I don't need more than a laptop to do my research

@@firstjedi2 Then there's a high chance that what you're doing is not so meaningful. Don't get me wrong, some field, and some niche area in that field might have cutting edge research going on where you can sit in front of a computer, do some thinking and then write something down. But most fields, especially the really applicable ones, such as medicine, biology, engineering, applied physics, it requires resources, experiments, trial and error. Without resources to get data, there's nothing you can do.

@@markarmage3776 No, the thing is, what you all call 'resources' is funding to do these 'business' trips to expensive hotels and eat caviar, give a lot of gifts to professors so you make 'networking' and accept to be added to your paper or other favors, oh yes resources to replace monitors on the lab that do not need to replaced really, and sometimes rebuilt the entire building again and again, and maybe maybe some money to buy actual specialized equipment but you have to really proof it will be money-wise profitable at a short term. I get you wrong, do not assume if what i do is meaningful, go to your cocktail parties and keep bleeding the society on your grandeur, you are so disgusting that even dare to demean on the arts and social sciences, a typical STEM monkey, yeah I'm one of these STEM monkeys so I know my tree
