I’m so glad you watched this before the series! They are completely different universes, and a lot of people dislike the movie because it isn’t the same as the series. I’m glad you liked it so much!

Even though this is cool and has a bigger budget, the series is miles better with deeper lore, characters and story. I definetly recommend watching it on your own time and giving us a reaction to the highlights.
I used to watch that for hours on end.

That's not how he got 4 arms though...
he never gained 4 arms from the great devourer
Lore dump: (you asked for this Seb). So garmadon has four arms cuz he was bitten by a super snake called the great devourer while training with his brother Wu. Then he was banished to the underworld where his plan was to get the 4 golden weapons to conquer ninjago but that failed so he then was possessed by the overlord and made a giant tank that can infect the the ppl of ninjago but Lloyd became the ultimate spinjitzu master and defeated the overlord which freed his father and restored him to his human self.
The snake didn't give him 4 arms, he got it from the realm of madness. The snake corrupted him tho

Fun fact: the movie may be different from the show, but it’s good on its own
it was the first ninjago thing I saw and I enjoyed it
so the movie is canonically inaccurate from the show (the show came out in like 2011 [damn that’s crazy]). the reason that garmadon has 4 arms is because in the show, at a young age, garm was bit by a snake called “the great devourer.” so he basically turned into that but with 2 arms. in the show, there were the “weapons of spinjitzu.” garm’s motive was to obtain all 4 at the same time which was impossible for anyone unless you form yourself to do it. so garm went to a different realm to do it. that’s why he has 4 arms. other ppl add anything if i missed something

I recommend people to watch the series first before they watch the movie just so they can understand some of the details, like why does Garmadon look like that.

I went and watched this movie in theaters, and I was the only one in that theater. It was a unique experience.
I really hope that this gets you in the groove and that you will eventually start reacting to the official TV show. To be honest it's seriously worth the watch and I think you would get so much out of the show with the amazing story telling, great villains, great emotional stories, and so much more.
while this movie is a really fun watch the show is still the better story and I highly recommend watching it. it handles the characters much better and explains the lore a lot more. honestly I love everything about this film accept how zane was handled, I really don't like how they handled the robot thing. your reaction was hella fun to watch though.

Lore for Garmadon: When Wu and Garm were playing in their backyard when they were kids (Garm was a regular kid just like Wu) they kicked the ball over the fence and Garm went to get it. When he was about to grab it, a random snake (which we later find out is basically the manifestation of evil) bit him. He venom infected him and over time he turned evil and grew 4 arms. Turning Garmadon into the new manifestation of evil

The Movie isn’t canon to the show. The show came first in 2011, then the movie came in 2017, then the show keeps going to this day.

Ninjago TV series actually has a movie that is to be watched before you watch the show. As it introduces the characters and the main storyline. It’s really good! Please watch that next
The Series and the movie are COMPLETELY different, the only things that carry over between the two are: names, family members, most elemental powers except wus and lloyds

This is absolutely nothing like the show that it's 'based on,' but it is hilarious! I also just realized that Jackie Chan says, "Forget everything you know." It's like he's acknowledging the fact that it's completely different.
this movie has its own bloopers where the legos act like its a set of rea life but still animation, its twice as funny as the movie
Garmadon got his 4 arms from travelling to a realm of madness 1 of the 16 realms including ninjago

in 15:56 , that was the hardest laugh i've ever seen you do , since i started watching you , and i am waiting for invincible season 2 to continue so i can watch it , and after i will watch JOJO , then after i will rewatch the lego ninjago series , it used to start while i was in school , but thank god Cartoon Network used to do a replay in night time , but i used to have homework so i couldn't watch the whole series
Kai, Nya, Zane, Jay, and Cole are all better in the show. But Lloyd, Wu, and Garmadon are done pretty well, though.

The TV Show and The Movie take place in different universes. The TV Shows first season came out 6 years before this movie. By the time this movie released, Season 7 had been out for a few months.

This movie is so much fun but i do believe it’s best enjoyed *after* watching the show simply because of how much of a parody it is and all the inside jokes sprinkled in there. The show is funny too but it takes itself a lot more seriously and tells a much more intricate and dramatic story so if you decide to watch it don’t go in expecting movie levels of comedy and general silliness. It’s also an amazing watch but for very different reasons than the movie
