A clean, fitting hat is a sophisticated topper. Makes a man look worldly and a bit dangerous.
Agreed 💯
Very true. Once you begin to wear hats, your outfit will seem incomplete without one.
You know it Pharaoh
In contemporary culture I say it makes sense to classify hats as outer garments. If you're wearing a trench coat or overcoat for weather, wear a felt hat like a fedora. If it's stupidly hot, wear a Panama. If the weather is nice enough for just a suit jacket, don't wear a hat.
Makes sense David
A summer outfit and a nice panama go hand by hand, can't go wrong.
ABSOLUTELY 💯
Even with a linen shirt and shorts
I’m a proud mom knowing my son loves the same hats pawpaw wore before he transitioned! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤴🏿
Bless his soul 🙏🏾
Hats are amazingly practical as well as a handsome accessory. My father always has an appropriate hat for his outfit casual or formal. They help protect you from the sun, especially if you have a reclining hairline. My mom always wore hats like my dad, and sun hats were her favorite and helpt protect her fair skin.
They also help protect you from the rain.
I think the problem is that most people are not exposed to well made hats that fit well, and there are ways to prevent and deal with hat hair.
ABSOLUTELY right 💯
Impeccable as always. Cheers Proff.
Thank you Tezz 😁
Couldn't agree more proff. After finding you, I am now more inspired then I ever was to start dressing like a gentleman. For last year I found two creators on instagram who lit the fire of desire in me to dress better. However, after discovering you, I'm getting all the details that I need to know on HOW to do it right. Not just WHAT it looks like! Thank you so much proff! :)

So delighted sir
Thanks Prof. You've got me motivated and disciplined to keep working on my grooming. I really appreciate you.
Delighted to hear Olaiya 😁
I love your voice!!! It's so melodic❤️
Bless you my dear 😊
For me, a Panama hat in the summer is must for sun protection, but it is a great complement to many of my summer outfits…
I find that I have never looked good in brimmed autumn and winter hats. But, a Peaky Blinders style hat works well.
Got it Bruce
Go with what works for you but do t be shy to experiment
I love hats! Sadly where I live most events are not outside so I never have the opportunity to wear one.
Taking long walks?
To me you're bringing back classic nostalgic dress . Nothing would be better than a fine tailor shop period 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes we have one ON THE INTERNET
Welcome to the FUTURE 😁
Well said. I love my hats, particularly my federas!
Can go wrong with a fedora
I love the fedoras from the 40's and 50's. Think Humphrey Bogart. I have an old photo of a distant relative wearing a fedora cocked slightly to the side. Even though he was poor, the hat seemed to fit and complete his look.
This gentleman is quality. Quality is this gentleman. Everlasting to everlasting. 😂
BLESS YOU my dear 🙌🏾
I got a oddball size head, only custom ones will fit. I was thinking of the baker boy style. I like it, just need something to go with it. Lol
Same here Kevin
All my hats are custom

In the fall and winter and spring, hats are fire.
ANYTIME sir including summer 🔥
I own two fedoras, one trilby and one panama. I love wearing hats, they're so classy. I personally love 30's, 40's and '50's fashion, so hats are a must.

From ordinary to extraordinary, complete your outfit with a hat. I agree.
MY GUY 🙌🏾
That suit jacket is art! There are so many tie and pocket square combos.
Puro, it’s an ODD COAT
I love how your pocket square is coordinated
Can you wear a panama hat with a very casual outfit? Like lets say a polo shirt, linen shorts, and loafers
Absolutely. Plenty of people do. Mostly tourists, probably, but it wouldn't raise any eyebrows.
ABSOLUTELY Yacoub
I do it all the time in the summer. I wear a Short Brim Milan Hat with shorts
I love a well dressed man in a hat! I am trying to convince my man to wear hats .I will make sure he sees your video 💜
Would it affect his hair when he has to remove them to enter a building? Do you live in a warm climate, where you might need a hat? Depending upon the situation, it may or may not be beneficial for him.
I started wearing hats when my sister gave me a bowler for Christmas one year. I thought it went really well with my suit, so I took to wearing it when I dressed up. Pretty soon I bought another, more expensive bowler, then a homburg, a fedora... I have more than one suit, so I should have more than one hat after all. At first I only wore hats with my suits, but I really wanted to wear them more.
At first, I was really conscious - and self-conscious - about wearing hats with my casuals, but it was simply a matter of getting used to it. Now I feel naked when going outside without a hat.
@@MrDanielWP A hat can actually protect your hair-do, from wind and rain/snow. And it really helps with keeping you warm in the colder parts in the year.
Please do Velma 😁
@@itskarl7575 Hats do nothing for my hair, but compress it and give those imprinted lines around my head. And, an umbrella does far more to protect against rain or snow, not that I would want to walk outside in those conditions, anyway. Idk what hairstyle you have, but "hat head" is a thing. They aren't for me, but I'm glad you enjoy them.
I think wear hats, should come back as a permanent gear of an outfit 😎✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

Silk topper (for formal dress - white tie or morning tails)
Black Homburg (For semi-formal - black tie or stroller, or a lounge suit in a formal event)
Grey Homburg (For an option with an suit)
Wide brim “Lee Van Cleef” hat, which goes with casual dress or suit and as it’s felt it can be worn in the rain.
Panama
A fur Russian hat for when it’s very cold.
BEAUTIFUL LINE UP Sir Gordon 👏🏾👏🏾

I wonder if you can comment on watches. I always see you wearing one but it would be good to hear your thoughts. Thanks Prof

I always was a flatcap kind of guy. I'm definitely intrigued to try a Panama hat. It looks so cool on you, but I'm also a bit sceptical if it would work for me.

I like hats, I’m unsure as to proper protocol regarding the wearing of them indoors.
Also, maybe a short about cigars. I think they are a bit of an accessory but I know nothing about them.
Ed, there’s lots in information on hat etiquette here on CZcams.
Also if you’re bald like me, it’s almost a necessity. In the summer, I don’t want my scalp to burn. In colder months, my head needs warmth!

Good day Okey!👍On the subject of Men Hats,🎩 🤠 In the Golden Age🪙 period of Mens Style between the 30's-50's, many stylish Men wore Hats to compliment their Sartorial ensemble! I honestly think the wearing of Hats waned, starting in the 60's, for the most part, due to the unintentional influence of the Kennedy's! The late President Kennedy and his brothers, didn't look good in Hat's, mainly because of their disproportionately sized, larger heads, which subsequently led to them ditch wearing Hats! It worked for them and other men less knowledgeable in proportion and dressing well, eventually stopped wearing Hats with their oufits! For the True Conneseurs of Classic Mens wear, Hats🎩 never went out of Style!
@@easily12 AGREED with ALL 💯

I never wear dress outerwear without a hat. Usually a fedora but in very windy conditions I’ll wear a flat cap.
Makes absolutely good sense
I love the Western style. Take a wide brimmed hat, pin one side up.
Now we talking 🔥
Most outfits look incomplete without a hat
Bro, you should do a course in how to dress it. I'd love to take. I'd like to improve how I dress, but clueless
PROFF is a navy pinstripe double breasted jacket a good fit for senior prom? You're advice will be much appreciated !
Of course bro, that's clean
I’d keep it plain Navy or Charcoal
My hair's too nice to wear one!
Hi Proff...is it necessary to match your hat with your suit?
I hate that hats today are an affectation rather than just put on as reflexively as short and shoes. . I wear a felt or straw hat regularly and cant imagine going out bare headed.
Same here. I never leave my home without one
I always wear hats when I go outside. For me, it's natural, but many people find it weird, arrogant, too old-fashioned et caterva. I hope that by wearing it humbly and quietly with style that I break this stereotype.
Exactly Renan 🔥
Once you try hats, no going back

Size 8 what Sir Adrien?
What is the average price for a hat? Because I just bought one from Borsalino for a 450 dollar and I’m very happy with it, just feel it’s a little bit expensive.. any suggestions?🙏
All depends on quality
Can go anywhere from a $100 for a basic dress felt fedora to $10,000 for a Monticristi Panama
Can you tell us about your watch
Will do in another CZcams Video
If anything hats keep the sun off. You can try things besides the baseball cap.

Is there not a problem finding a dry cleaners to clean hats today? You used to see signs at the cleaners specifically advertising cleaning services for hats, back in ' yesteryear '. Bring back hats !
Most of the time, you won't need a dry cleaner for at least fur felt hats, in mt experience.
In the nigh on 3 years i have worn felt hats, they are able to be perfecrly clean with just simple techniques at home, if at all necessary

Favorite type of dress shoes?
As a veteran I still feel undressed if I go out without a hat. I now have a collection but the one I like to wear most is a wide brim low crown pork pie. I like the more casual style with the hat further back on my head than say a fedora. It took me over 30 years searching to find this hat. I also have every style from a flat cap to a bolero (Lee van Cleef) hat.
What is the biggest faux pas you have seen in hat wearing. For me it was in a film I saw where soldiers were wearing their berets with their ear tops inside the band. The most common one I see is men wearing hats inside, especially when ladies are present. Very bad manors.
I agree completely Alan 💯

Noted sir
I don't like wearing dress hats. Nothing wrong with wearing them, but they're not for me. The problem is that I don't like "hat-hair" and they are completely unnecessary. It's not JUST that I don't need them - I surely don't need a pocket square, either. I prefer not to wear them because of hat-hair. No such negatives exist for wearing a pocket square or a tie, for example.
Hats can actually protect your hair from the elements. Hat hair is a much smaller problem than wind-hair, or wet hair. I wear hats whenever I'm outdoors, and simply running my hands over my hair once will get rid of hat hair. The first time I wore a fedora in rain - which is not a dress hat, by the way - it was an eye opening experience. The rabbit felt has water repellent properties (beaver felt even more so), and the wide brim meant not a single droplet touched my face or neck either. It was like an umbrella.
The biggest negative with a hat is the possibility of it blowing off in high winds. That, and the fact that many restaurants, cafes etc. don't offer racks or storage for your hat. Those are the only things I would even consider negatives.
Fair enough Daniel. Not for everyone
