- *Except one piece of light armor. It's important for Chipmonk.

The fact that you managed to create a character that looks like just a normal dude not just for PC (player character) standards, but more normal than most Oblivion NPC's is deeply unsettling.
There's a post every day on the Oblivion subreddit that's like "I made a normal looking character"
@@Kryptnytjust joined the sub and that comment is spot on lol
Like a blonde James blunt
@@Kryptnyt I'm not somebody that really uses Reddit unless looking for some obscure answer/info I can't really find anywhere else.
Step 1: stop making abominations "as a joke"
You kidnapped the Heart of Lorkan using a Guild Mage that you pulled from across Vvardenfell and destroyed the Heart with a Merchant wielding the tools of gods. And yet the fact that Chipmonk looks like a normal human using the Oblivion character creator is easily the most impressive thing you have shown us.
We are in awe.
I made a cute girl once.
I swear.
@@Marcara081 I mean, it's not impossible, but it takes ages and then you are still left stranded in the world of potato faces.
Necromancy is reanimating corpses.
Summoning skeleton is summoning daedra that just happen to look like skeletons
The fact that Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC reintroduces undead-summoning spells in the Soul Cairn implies that the undead are being summoned from the Soul Cairn or other places in Oblivion that have undead running around, rather than being Daedra.
@@kiptheott5932 the only way to get sent to the soul cairn is to have your soul captured in a black soul gem and then used for enchanting. They ARE dead but not in the normal sense.
@@kiptheott5932 the soul cairn is a plain of oblivion so its inhabitants are daedra.
@@TiredRoman That is not how that works.
@@TiredRoman It's technically a realm and/or pocket dimension for soul trapped souls for eldritch necromancer beings (technically not daedric gods, they were probably men or mer once ages ago, but not anymore; daedra adjacent sure ig, just not actually) feeding off those souls' power, the other stuff like the skeletons are just manifestations of their power, us conjuring their skeles to mundus isn't like normal daedric summoning because the skeles aren't actually daedra.
tl;dr: us willing the skeles into mundus isn't technically "daedric summoning" since they're not actually daedra, it's more us conjuring already conjured stuff outside the pocket dimension the conjured stuff's in.
its crazy how much more comfortable you sound on the mic than you did when i first started watching you. i feel like a proud parent when you make jokes about fingers and mountains.
that was a good joke
-Casts exactly one school of magic, and not very frequently
-Becomes archmage
Yeah, that tracks.
I'm shocked you did such a good job in the character creator, hahahaha. Dude actually looks alright!
"I'm flabbergasted at how normal I made him look"
All I see is Mark Zuckerberg in Oblivion
Zuckerberg is pretty normal for oblivion standards
I came to the comments looking for this
0:17 "I Promised to fist Mannimarco" Welcome to JBN After Dark everyone.
I always loved how epic the class pictures look, then our characters look like playdough.
Props for showing the versatility of Oblivion's character creator. You did a good job recreating the morrowind face!
Also enjoyed the little rant about Volanaro and J'skar.
Versatility is a strong word. It's more of working around the creator rather than with it. Facegen was never meant to facilitate things like that.
@@TheBaca219 Eh, I've always managed to make normal looking people with it. Key word being normal, not supermodel. It is very fussy and unintuitive though, I know, and it takes too long for most players to want to try. That's a flaw.
@@alioncosmic You can build a castle with just a shovel. Doesn't mean it's a good idea or a pleasant experience.
Fun fact: in the now discontinued pc dnd videogame "sword coast legends" there's an npc companion you can recruit that's actually a good guy necromancer. It's played kinda as a joke but the guy felt like a compelling quirky hero, no brooding anti hero
For the summoning of the undead via conjuration as opposed to necromancy.
Both use powers from the realm of oblivion but with conjuraiton spells, you haven't cast the soul of a man/mer/etc into the soul cairn or oblivion just so you can reanimate it or use it, which on the other hand, necromancers do.
So it's sorta like buying meat from a supermarket as opposed to hunting it yourself, at least in my understanding.
"I have a task for you..." Raminus Polus said as his smoldering gaze looked down upon you.
That recommendation came for a difficult price
His eyes were twinkling too. It was oddly intimate.

"Not knowing is half the fun"
Had me dying 😂
Thats not a statue, thats a cake.
@@themadmystic1688 I am unable to understand this affirmation of yours, fella
@@tovirumelores7921 its a joke about how that statue is, as kids say, caked up.
If I do recall, there actually is a spell you get from an unmarked quest to also temporarily resurrect people in Shivering Isles. It’s how you get more than one Necromancer’s Amulet
I love your comedic timing and deadpan delivery so much. Thanks for the videos you make.
Once again dude, excellent content. Great writing, hilarious editing, near perfect comedic timing and one of my favourite games. Been subbed since your first morrowind video and youve been one of my favourite creators ever since. You deserve every one of your subs and so many more. Looking forward to your 1M subscriber special 😀
"Imagine if Cyrodil was a huuuuge jungle."
LMFAO
I'm such a nerd for getting this and I'm not ashamed
Anybody else get a little *too* excited when they see JBN upload?
Or is it just me, who gets real giddy?
I literally opened up youtube saw he'd posted and straight up shouted "YES ANOTHER"
Same honestly.
WOOO!
I saw this in my recommended and I clicked immediately. No hesitation. I love this guy.
Me too, I get really giddy so you're not alone 😆
Your character as a vampire looks like Handsome Squidward if he was crushed sideways in a vice.
oblivion onwards, you can become the leader of the guild by sneezing in the wrong place- though i will say i loved how the fighters guild basically said no to radiant quests and made you manage it when you became leader
I was saddened that light armor wasn't allowed since I never see the Bands of Kwang Lao get used. Also, even if you couldn't use the bands, you could've stood by the two people training at the arena to get an extra 5 points in h2h. Keep up the great work, I love the videos!
Oh my god, hearing OSRS music in the background, nice touch! Really liking your videos!
He also referenced my least favorite quest, at least one of them in osrs~
20:30 so we can immortalize that brutality
1:42 You'd think the game where the *Colovian Highlands* are a place you can go would definitely feature *Colovian* Fur helms but I guess not
must've fallen out of fashion in the six years between morrowind and oblivion. or maybe they'd fallen out of fashion in cyrodiil for the longest time but the people of vvardenfell, as one would expect from a people with _taste,_ have taken it upon themselves to keep fur helms in the colovian style alive and chic
... also while double-checking that timespan i realized that the first four games all take place within a time period of _34 years,_ and i'm not sure if i'll ever fully recover from this revelation
@hi-i-am-atan it's all the same emperor too!
So useful tip for the Ring of Burden quest: You can use the "drag" button(idk what it is on PC) to drag the corpse, or the ring itself if you're willing to spot its tiny size in the well, to the entrance outside your inventory
Pick it up, room transition, drop and drag it to the Guild, repeat till you are in position to drop it off for quest completion
Meanwhile in "niche Oblivion knowledge", standing in the shade, or being underwater, halves Sun Damage!
I like how this implies Vampires can just chill in pools during the day.
29:33 - I've always loved this little set-piece, but your reactions improved it further 😂
The subtle jokes about TES lore are wonderful, and as a TES nerd i love them
The guy at 7:40 returned at 27:40
Whoa!
4:46 Don't do it, you'll be dead, then someone will have to find you, and you'll be dead, so then you have to drink
Your humor and the way you interact with the NPCs is entirely my sense of humor! You have quickly become one of my fav elder scrolls creator.
You always have such cool challenge runs!! Im so excited to watch this one! I actually started playing morrowind because of you. Hopefully I'll get to play some oblivion soon :>
Thank you for creating :)
Conjuration in elder scrolls works by pulling deadra from their realm of existence (like oblivion for example) into our realm (temporarily)... Bound armour/weapon spells trap a deadra into an object temporarily...
Finally the TES content creator ive been searching for
Conjuration in any capacity in the elder scrolls summons a dedra and forces it to take the shape of what you want weapons and armor and undead included
Wow, I've never seen that floating health bar thing. Cool
Man, I click the "like" button just when I see your video's uploaded. You make a huge amount of high quality content I love to watch. God bless!❤
Alpha and Omega never fail to crack me up.
Can you beat Morrowind as Caius Cosades? Never wear a shirt, use unarmed, and maintain a crippling skooma addiction
Your Elder Scrolls videos are putting some life back into my withered soul (helping my depression). Thanks!
Love when JBN just randomly pops up in the video, gets me every time
On the topic of monks and healing or alteration magic in dnd. If i remember right; monks was introduced in mid-late first edition dnd was a lose combination of cleric and rogue it was at the time also somewhat connected to the mystic aesthetic. This was changed on and of in edition, but around 4th edition for monk to become psionics instead of their previous holy-esk theme. (that is if I remember right)
So if that is their inspiration it makes a least a bit more sense
Man this video was surprisingly funny. I was enthralled for the whole thing.
FYI, I really enjoy your Oblivion content! I know this game's been played to death online, but watching you play is a whole other level of interesting.
You did a great job in character creation man, he looks like actual human and not like lovecraftian god of lust and destruction
I love your videos so much man I could seriously watch them all day.
After a long and stressful day this is hitting differently thank you 🙏
I’d love a vod channel from you! You’re my favorite background noise!
Love you and your videos. Watched all of them like three times in a raw.
That punch from Janus was so awesome.
From what I can read from the wiki you can buy items without raising mercantile, but not for spells. You also gain xp from selling. Tldr: buying items is okay, selling is not.
Yay for an Oblivion video! I really liked your last one, happy to see another!
always looking forward to the next vid, great stuff as always!
Been watching your videos for a while. This was very fun to watch. Bonk
Another great video love your content dude especially the Morrowind ones great to see you play Oblivion.
"Monk of Dibella baby" love the bard mindset
Just recently found your channel, to have well ... background noise ... while modding Skyrim, and love the content/commentary. Almost done with tweaking my mod list etc. (hopefully) so I'll have to find other things to do while watching your videos. Keep up the great work
This is hands down one of your funnier videos. The Fingers of The Mountain and Dagail's necklace jokes had me bursting out laughing. Take my like JBN, you earned it.
20:30
That Janus/Chipmonk double team Summer Slam officially earned both your entries into Sovengarde
You’re one of my favorite comfort CZcamsrs. Keep up the great work!
I always subscribed to the theory that this Mannimarco is the cast off body after he ascended.
Great video! Your sense of humor always gets me to laugh, too!
Never have I been so excited for an Oblivion video
Thanks for your vids and helping me sleep man.
i can never get over the unarmed "spear hand" power attack in this 😂
19:27 It's exactly how you describe. Illusion works the same as Alternation, by altering the world to your will, but the "truth" is visible only by the caster and the target. You basically convince the target or nearby people that something is different that is in reality, for example you make a target think they cannot move, they cannot speak (Silence), they hear voices (Sound) or you are harder to hit (Sanctuary). Alternation physically change things recognized by anyone and is bound by laws of nature, like making things heavier is heavier for everyone. Paralysis in Skyrim being Alternation physically renders target unable to move, while being Illusion makes the target think they cannot move.
I remember how I dealt with the ring of burden. I grabbed it, turned around, dropped it, then moved further towards the exit, grabbed it at max distance, turned around towards the exit, dropped, and repeat until I was done.
7:50 didn't know Billy Corgan is the man behind this channel
Great video - really been loving your content since I found it. Im curious, though: Since you already wore the Colovian Fur Hat was not using the Bands of Kwang Lao a purposeful choice? I admit when you first mentioned needing a specific piece of Light Armor I thought that's what you were going for! Either way, awesome video.
Bro idk why, your content makes me laugh so much.
i love ur videos. don't stop bringing chipmonk to the channel please
Oh heck yeah new streamer vod channel baby!
Best fall asleep to vids out there
Heh, funny you'd mention being Sneak attacked in Oblivion. Biggest Jumpscare I ever had in gaming was walking though the mountains in Oblivion and suddenly i hear a roar and Bear takes half my health away...
I did a run in Oblivion where I played a Redguard and wore the Ring of Burden throughout the game. My end goal was to do the Knights of the Nine quest to get the boots of Stendarr. Used a Warhammer because Stendarr's Hammer isnt in Oblivion.
Mannimarco looks and sounds so goofy in this game. I'm so glad he made an appearance in ESO and actually looks menacing.
"We're only allowed to use the Major skills for the Monk Class. Therefore we're doing a Stealth Archer run today."
Man, this guy never fails to impregnate me with quality content :D
My God, I really like your videos.
When I saw this new one in my feed, I immediately was like "Oooh! What is it will be this time?"
Man, everytime I see you in the flesh. I'm always reminded just how much you look like patches from dark souls in real life
37:46 "Hey, I'd better cut down on the Jet!"
This ain't background noise, this is the main event at the nerd party.
@26:50 legit that scared the hell out of me
that was the most perfect punch to ever be thrown in oblivion i cant stop watching it
I seriously love your videos
You’re getting funnier and funnier each video
Love ya vids man!
Chipmunk is gonna need a shirt of all his incarnations if he keeps this up. Great vid
Didn't know the mage guild was associated with Arceuus.
On the colovian fur hat, it is actually called the colovian fur helm, it is actually light armor in morrowind
If memory serves, conjuration summons creatures from the realms of oblivion. So, the conjured zombie is a type of deadra.
Necromancy is the use of souls put into dead bodies
Every video is great as always 🎉🎉😊
"Will there ever be a good necromancer who isn't a brooding antihero?"
Sorceress from Dragon's Crown. Rocking rack too.
dnd reason:
Monks gain an "Unarmoured defense" that scales with their wisdom.
Alteration and casting shield spells on yourself is as close as that gets without an unarmoured skill
A man with alopecia saying "cuz i aint no babysitter"
Is peak humour.
I love this channel.
That's a reference you're gonna have to help me with.
@@JustBackgroundNoiseI think because Vin Diesel once played a master babysitter
My best guess about alteration and not restoration for monks: in D&D 3rd and 5th edition ( I refuse to discuss 4th edition) Monks are all about perfecting their bodies, becoming enlightened and changing themselves into something beyond human, getting a lot of pseudo-magical abilities like understanding all languages, walking on water, becoming invisible etc. While they often do have abilities to heal themselves- it mostly fits alteration way more than other schools, since they slowly proceed to alter their bodies through physical and mental training.
It fits for actual monks too. Monks at the shaolin temple started learning martial arts from Bodhidharma to help their bodies recover and strengthen after long meditation sessions. While they obviously had some medicine knowledge living in seclusion- it wasn't their main thing, they all wanted to reach enlightment and perfect their spirit. Martial arts added another path to enlightment, through physical excersise, creating shaolin warrior monks, those who try to reach enlightment by perfecting their bodies along with spirit.
At least that's the romanticized version, real one obviously was more down to earth. Shaolin warrior monks were guards of the monastery and also a military force. Shaolin temple was involved in multiple wars in history and they were sending their warrior monks to actual battle. It wasn't a peaceful temple it is nowadays.
I think summoning a zombie brings it in from a Zombie Plane of Oblivion, like Molag Balville where zombies and skeletons just kinda live there. Er, something approaching living there.
"You want a recommendation? Okay. Cast a fireball. Right now. No scrolls, no equipment, just use destruction magic in front of me one time, let me see it hit a deer or bear or something so I know it works."
You found the secret Runescape mode, shame you disabled it.
Monks in D&D CAN know some healing. The Way of Mercy teaches monks how to assist those in need by giving them very limited means of healing. Nowhere near as good as a cleric, but healing is healing. Mercy Monks can also heal themselves, but it's better used on your allies that struggle to avoid attacks, unlike you. They can also be ninjas or chronic alcoholics!
