Finally! A story that put a smile on my face. Thank goodness for this gentleman acting so quickly and preventing a tragedy. So glad that the little cutie was unharmed.

You guys have to realize it was only a minute left on the game Clock when this happened. So I can see why she was able to thank him but maybe not fully process how remarkable what he did was. I don’t understand why people are nitpicking and being negative.

Many years ago I attended a Winters Hawks game in Portland Oregon and a puck hit a young girl in the head. She survived but had to be taken to the hospital for stitches

It’s not uncommon for stray pucks to cause injuries to the spectators so I’m not surprised
Look up the Columbus Blue Jackets.. a 13 yr old girl who was in the stands behind the goal, died in March 2002, after a slapshot ricochetted off the opponent's stick, hit the girl in the temple and she died 2 days later at the hospital..it was the Blue Jackets inaugural season too.....not long after, all the NHL rinks were made to install netting all along behind the goal area....she remains as the only fan fatality in the NHL as of today ...so sad . 😢

The judgment ya'll have for the mother is ridiculous. She essentially did nothing wrong. It was an unforseen event that happened in a split second. I'm pretty sure she wasn't the only person distracted in that moment

She needed help finding the guy to thank him when he was sitting right next to them for the reminder of the game and even took a photo with him. Doesn't make sense.
I'm sure she probably already thanked him at the time when the incident happened, but didn't get his name at the time from being shocked, that's my guess. Probably wanted to thank him again as the shock wore down but had to track him down somehow.
If that's what you took away from this story, I feel sorry for you.
There is only a minute left on the game clock when this happened. So it was finished pretty quickly after. She literally said in the video that she wanted to find him so she could thank him again. So obviously she already thanked him but wanted to do more. But he literally saved her kid from serious harm, so I don’t see why she wouldn’t want to publicize his help.

Come on, now. It didn't fully hit her (no pun intended) until after she left and really thought about how badly her son could have been hurt by that puck. A traumatic brain injury is NO joke. I have permanent damage from one sustained in a car accident 10 years ago and still struggle with how it affects my memory and cognitive abilities. I wouldn't wish it on anyone and am glad to see the happy ending to this story.
