    Took my dumb self two videos to figure out why the bandanna was on the bumper. The truck looks like it could be an extra in Road Warrior. Even though I have the Mill Squat program, I still watch these videos--I tend to pick up a new cue with more exposure.

    4:50 for disc golf, this hip snap is the fundamental base behind a backhand throw(for my form).
    For a disc golf specific movement, pause at 4:50 and move your back leg behind you, in line with your back and your toe resting on the ground.
    If you can do this with a light weight, you can use the same motion to throw big distance on a hyzer tilt.

    I like these breakdowns and building up step by step, makes for a good review of basics.
    Question, why no rotation of the foot and no lift of the heel with clubs when sports like kick boxing or base ball the power transfer would occur with lift and rotation? Is it a matter of power leakage?

    Question: Alternate timing for Mill Squat program. I have some elbow issues so I would like to stay longer than normal at each weight before moving up. However, I get bored if I do more than 6 workouts at each level. After completing 6 workouts at all three levels using a 30 seconds on/off protocol, would it make sense to do 60 seconds on/off and do 2 rounds each workout instead of 4 rounds to keep the workout at 20 minutes. Or is there another timing protocol you would recommend?

    • @cioran1754
      @cioran1754 Před rokem +4

      When I was sticking with same weight for longer I'd push the work time while keeping the rest period at 30 ( secs ) to a max of 60secs.
      This did mean that the workout would vary from 20mins - 30mins.
      The extra TUT kept a challenge going until next weight.
      30/30 .... 45/30 ...... 60/30

      on the stop at the bottom the outside leg should not be straight.

    • @ripdime1351

      @@MarkWildman oops, meant to say *top* of the swing and I’m probably confusing inside and outside leg. So, to clarify, same leg as the bottom hand should be straight at *top* of the swing and both bent (one more than the other) at the bottom/stop? After a 2nd and 3rd watch, I think you covered it.
      Thanks, Coach!

    • @GrantGardner80
      @GrantGardner80 Před rokem +2

      In some previous videos, Mark has kettlebell inside circles, outside circles, pendulums, side cleans, etc. So you can definitely use a kettlebell in this plane of motion.
      It's just harder because they are in general heavier, and they are wider so there's more chance of smacking your own leg with them. It can be done but clubs are easier.
      Also, those kettlebell side motions are all one-handed as I recall. With two hands you get more rotation and potentially more improvement because of that. So it's something to keep in mind.
      But I definitely get what you're saying about acquiring equipment. 😁

    • @cioran1754
      @cioran1754 Před rokem +3

      I don't think so, everything Grant said and I'd go further, take with a grain ! I had 16kg side to side swings / circles etc in a workout and quickly dropped them before I lost a toe. Never felt comfortable or safe! Also remember leaning slightly forward to allow clearance, lower back issues possible.
      I'm guessing you haven't tried them maybe? If the starting clubbell weight recommendation is 10-15lbs for movements in the frontal plane, then clearly a 35lbs bowling ball is asking for trouble ( you could be much more advanced but point would still apply for someone starting off I reckon ). A starting kg weight would be 4-6kg, why not get a club as that kb weight isn't much use elsewhere.
      The kb grip also is problematic as it's perpendicular and can shift around a bit e.g. through a circle's arc, add sweat to that for an extended session.
      In comparison, the clubbell grip is like an extension of your own natural arm lever, just lends itself to these movements.
      Having said all that I really like some kb exercises in this plane that Mark has done e.g the figure 8 to uppercut ; Inside / outside dead clean series.
      The difference with those exercises is there is a dead stop followed by a reset i.e. the control should always be there ( versus knocking out multiple ballistic reps around your knees / feet etc ), you prepare for each rep mentally, and with the clean especially the weight can be ramped up.
      Obviously it all depends on a persons skill / strength profile as well.

      I usually stick swing to the side in clubs. But you can certainly do them with kettlebells

      @@MarkWildman simplest and easiest might be just to treat it like a tip jar. I think there are enough people who might just be happy to pay a couple of bucks a month as a thank you. I don't know that you would necessarily need to have exclusive content for Patreon members, although that is something you could investigate.
      Another option that I've seen other CZcams creators do is early access. So the same stuff that you'll eventually be posting on the main CZcams channel but posting it to Patreon members first. Depending on your workflow and how many videos backlog you might be able to have, that's a possibility.

    • @utubepunk
      @utubepunk Před rokem

      @@MarkWildman You're monetized right? You should have the option to enable tips / Thank Yous on your videos. Although I think CZcams gets a 30% cut. I think KoFi takes less of a cut & is great for one time tips.
      If you had a Patreon, besides early access, one of the benefits could be people who donate at a certain level can join you in a live hangout once a month where you basically answer questions & shoot the shiznit over a zoom call. Another perk could be access to your notes, especially in regards to programming. Just a few ideas, hope it helps.
