New Pond Build With The D6, And What Is This??

  • Started a new pond build with the D6H. Pushing and piling lots of (of all things) top soil. Man, this is the Sasquatch of Missouri! You rarely see 4ft deep top soil in this part of the country, so its amazing! The pond is going to be a little over a half acre, so nothing monstrous but it'll probably be deep.

    There is nothing colder than setting on cold iron in the open with a wind. Nice start to the pond, good find on the top soil.

    WOW! Unreal views in this video. Nice as we were 'at the controls' for much of the beginning then amazing show of DOZER POWER at 16 & 20 minutes. You did a lot of editing to make EACH pass HAPPEN without showing having to back up. Too bad no way (like OSMOSIS) to move that TOP SOIL. Hope your TEST DIG continues WELL! Thanks for another REALLY GREAT job, "DIRT DADDY 953"! Sonny

    Larry, it seems those who have good road fill don’t have good topsoil and vice versa. And, each longs for what the other has.
    I’m gonna be working in the shop today… my plan was to come up with a Sasquatch trap… but, you’ve intrigued me!
    No one captures a clear image of Bigfoot… but you sir have crystal clear video that shows the existence of top soil in S/W MO!!!
    I think that instead of working on the Squatch trap…. I’m gonna spend my time on something more useful. There is an all day Star Trek marathon of original episodes. My guess is that nearly every one will show them using the “Transporter”. Perhaps one or two of them will have multiple transports.
    I couldn’t figure out how the Transporter worked when I watched the show, back in the 60’s. But today, with the advantage of Hi-Def TV pictures… pause, slow motion and replay on my DVR… Who’s to say that I won’t unlock the secrets of just how that Transporter worked????
    I’m headed out right now to build a fire in the wood stove, put on my coffee pot, program my DVR and fluff the cushion on my shop stool. The motivation is here… I’m gonna set a goal of getting the design complete, by dinner time, for the first Ozark Soil Transporter!
    Thanks Larry for saving me from chasing the Sasquatch Trapping pipe dream… and putting me onto the mission of ‘Providing Dirt Equality For All’!!!

    dirt, im curious since im setting in my chair in sunny florida watching you push, what happens if a snow storm comes thru an drops a foot or so,, you quit or just push it off an keep at the pond build, my brain is thinking that would be a big pain in the butt dealing with that issue,, best of luck dirt you keep pushing and i will watch an thumbs up ya!!cheers

      Well, first of all that was a low blow telling me you're in Florida while i'm freezing my butt off....lol! If it should snow, you just gotta stop until it dries. That much top soil would turn into a mud bog if it gets wet! Thanks Mark!! BTW, its supposed to snow this weekend...🤦‍♂️

    need to take better advantage of 'slot dozing'. Always hate to see wildlife habitat destroyed. I used to hunt rabbbit and pheasant along fence and ditch lines to feed my family.

    • @Dirtdaddy953
      @Dirtdaddy953  Před 2 lety

      I try to slot as much as possible but doesn't always work out. In this case I had good topsoil I was trying to keep separated as much as possible from the pre-clay so I had to spread the pushes out a little. Yeah, fortunately theres several fence rows around for the critters to got to. Thanks for the comment!

      He wanted the trees out anyway.
      Yep, I actually dug some test holes with the D6 to check on the clay situation. I talked it over with the owner and explained how much overburden would need to be pushed out. He understood and told me to go ahead.
