I am really digging the content on this channel. Keep it up and thank you for keeping it clean so I can watch in front of my kids.
Appreciate it!
Happy for you, such a nice bike!
Beautiful bike! More videos👍
Danggg those look so swag
Let’s go I can’t wait to see this new video!
You guys are super entertaining 😂 great content 👌
Those bikes look soooooo sick! Can’t wait for the comparison with the pivot Mach 4 sl!
Coming soon!
I'm alredy testing the new 2025 Stumpjumper in Switzerland😛. Oh and I had a Nintendo 64 with Golden Eye too for X-Mas 😁
Cheers
how is it?
@@aceoptixx Hi, unfortunately I am under constraints to reveal any specific details at this point (NDA). Hopefully this will change early in June ;)
Cheers
I have a new Lego sl will I still enjoy this bike?
Have you got some good time between testing the the two head angles, low and high? If racing and riding things like marathon would you keep the head angle at 65.9? Seems advantageous to keep it at that angle? Thanks!!
As a gravel bike with light single track use, you still think Epic WC is better than Epic 8? Or might as well buy Epic 8 and be more capable/comfortable in the mountains?
Hope rockshox get you guys the aftermarket FA stuff soon! I need that for my Blur TR but like always already available i. europe and not the US
I can order that for you right now, its just not immediately available. Looks like a early summer eta currently. Email us if you want us to get it for you.
How do you think the epic 8 compares to the BC40?
How does this bike compare to the Allied Bc40? How about in terms of efficiency and race feel? The geo is very similar
Agree. Would love to hear thoughts on BC40 vs Epic 8. Agree, seems like the geo is very similar. Love the steering limiter and swat box on the Epic 8!
would you rather this or the levo sl ltd with flight att
weird question, but did it come with the quadruple battery charger (like the mach 4 sl FA does) or just with the two old single axs chargers?
This bike just came with the standard ones.
@@bicyclestation Alright! thanks for the answer:) I thought maybe it was just mine... Also, please try removing brake pads on a size M... is it just me or is this a huuuuge oversight in the development?
S(andwich)-WORKS
Hey Jesse, are you using a medium as well for this year? Do you think sizing is consistent with prior epics? I’m still trying to decide that S or M at 5’7 and things seem quite looooong now. Thanks!!
I ride a medium with a slammed 80 -17 stem. Just got the bike fit and my fitter confirmed this is correct for the new bike. He did say I could run a 90 if I wanted. Said it was a handling decision.
I think the sizing is consistent and would stick with what you were in unless you thought the old bike was to big or to small.
@@bicyclestation and remind me how tall you are again? And seat height? I think that solidifies a small for me maybe with 80 stem as well… thanks you guys rock 🤙
5 11. My seat is generally 69 cm from center of bb to saddle rails
@@bicyclestation 🤟
Same here, at just under 5’8 I can comfortably ride an S2 or S3 but for XC was leaning on sizing down for manoeuvrability 👍🏻
I was happy spending 10k ish USD on the vintage volvo blue 2019 cannondale FSI, weight weenieing it down to 7.6kg, and 9k on the 2019 S works epic full sus.
15k is taking the piss. Done with getting top speced new bikes. Managed to get a Scalpel Hi mod 1 22' on sale for about 5k.
Considering that in 2019 a sworks epic was 9k it’s kinda amazing a bike with this much technology built into is only 5k more expensive in 2024. Realistically I’m surprised it’s not more expensive factoring in inflation and the cost of all the electronic stuff.
Please make a video with the Epic 8 Evo!! 🙏🙏
Hey Jesse, are the swat bag, tyrewiz and garmin holder delivered with the bike?
Yes
@@bicyclestation thx 👍🏼
Hmm that S-Works frame might have to go on my Christmas list. Have the Evo 7 and was going to get the 3P suspension.. seems like a nice excuse to just upgrade.
Very sad they only accept AXS droppers though… I love my Transfer SL and really don’t want to add nearly 300g and an extra £500 to get an AXS dropper 😞
I think you can run a cable dropper if you ditch the lockout.
You think headset cable routing is a plus on a mtb? I think it’s horrendous. But that color is sick AF
It’s 100% a plus. Especially on a XC race bike. I understand not wanting it on a trail bike but I definitely prefer it
When do you make a review with FA?
It’s the best. I really want to try it on a different bike before I make a whole video. I wanna answer a question about if the suspension or bike frame is more important with flight attendant
What size is this sworks epic 8 you weighed?
Medium
Do ya'll ship to Canada ?
I would definitely try to. Shoot us an email and we can try to figure that out for you
Did you notice the new frame is 460g more than the 2021-23 evo frame (medium per specialized site tech specs)? Did not expect a 26% increase. Yes you get 10mm more rear suspension but thats a big increase still for a race bike.
Would be awesome if you could weigh the new frame to confirm.
The sworks or the 11r?
The complete sworks bike weighs 23.8 with pedals. I’m assuming the flight attendant is a lb more.
The 11r is definitely heavier. It’s got full tubed cable routing for 4 cables and the storage door.
@@bicyclestationthe old sworks evo medium frame spec says 1750g and new epic 8 evo pro frame says 2210g
New epics use same frame design , epic 8 sworks frame (no FA) should be less weight than epic 8 evo pro but more than the old evo frame.
My medium SW EVO is 21.10 & SW Epic 8 is 21.13 no dropper on either bike. The only difference is the EVO has 2.4 Icons & the 8 has Pirelli XC RC.
4:56 A sandwich? It's definitely burrito-shaped! (Hire me too pls, Specialized.)
lol is a burrito a sandwich?
Soon:dropbar edition😉
I was thinking about it lol
When they’re comparing all the stats online are they comparing to the old Epic Evo since it’s the same travel? Confusing when everyone is saying “old bike”
Im comparing it to the old evo. Lol sorry I didn't think of that.
@@bicyclestation no worries, thanks! Specialized website does similar. Sweet bike. Interested in how flight attendant does in XC. Be nice to update my epic evo but without cables
Its amazing. I road it yesterday. Were gonna make a whole video about it soon.
Asked my dealer to order a frame 2 weeks ago. Got the info today that frames are not available until summer... Might have to sell some stuff an order the full bike, if its not out of stock yet :( It seems absolutely insane, and I need one.
I have 8 frames in stock. we can ship you one
@@bicyclestation I appreciate it, I just told him to order me a full bike instead. Building one+swapping out for FA afterwards would bring me to around the same cost anyways. And he gives me 20% on the full bike price
Yea I agree. Originally I was gonna basically only order frames then I learned it didn’t come with FA. Had to pivot my order plans a bit.
@@bicyclestation Fully understand. I wish they would release like an upgrade kit, with only the Race Day FA damper, and rear shock, for like half the price.
They did exactly that. It’s 2350$ for the fork and shock. I don’t know how much the damper costs tho
What pedals are on that New Epic?
HT
Thanks- That is what I ride. I like the action of the pedals,. but I wish they were made from higher quality materials. The bolts and faces get rusted/corroded too easily.
Mine are all clapped out lol. Nothings better so I tolerate it but totally agree with you.
Are your older version or newer version?@@bicyclestation
I have set of the old ones and the new ones. Can’t tell the difference
Hi, what stem length did you installed, please? Could you tell me how tall you are? I am in between M and L and not sure if I should go with Medium + longer stem or size Large. Many thanks
80
@@bicyclestation thank you, could you tell me how tall are you? Many thanks
5 11
@@bicyclestation appreciate your help. So you could probably go with L too right? Great videos keep it on!
Large is way too big for me.
What bottom bracket change did you make?
We put a bbinfinite in it. No I’ll will towards the dub ones they just aren’t as fast. They are kinda indestructible tho
you ride M how tall are you in cm?
Bike looks soo coool! But bro!!! The prices are
The prices are perfect lol. I realize they are expensive but we’ve sold out of every bike we’ve gotten our hands on. People don’t seem to mind
@@bicyclestationwhat the hell man! How many you sold? I mean 15k for a simple bike
Update on my own comment:
I did some research in the new flight attendant which lead to the new epic 8. I gott say the new tech is freaking insane with the powermeter stuff and shit. I didnt know how far the tech has come.
So now im on the other side quite a bit.
For me (as a student) is pretty expensive. But i can imagine that some folks who love to ride (me aswell) and have the money, it makes sense. Its still a lot of money tho. Nice gadget i must say.
Unless youre a pro its questionable if you really need it. But nice to have
Yea it starts making sense the more you learn. And like this is the most expensive version. You can buy an epic 8 for 5000$ and it’s still great. Then even upgrade that to flight attendant in the future. Tons of options available.
As for the pro thing I disagree just cause it’s fun. I wanna ride this stuff and it’s cool that consumers can ride an Olympic level rig if they want. One of the only sports where that’s possible
15k for a mtb is just crazy even if it was a emtb it doesnt justify the cost
Eh they are selling. Seems to be priced correctly
Crazy you can buy a 750cc adventure motorcycle for cheaper than this mountain bike
Haha yea. But what’s the most expensive adventure bike on the market cost. We’re talking about the one of most expensive possible mtb you can buy. It’s only fair to compare it to what would probably be a 6 figure motorbike.
That being said dope build and dope bike
realised I can buy a frame and get the parts.... and build on the cheap.. no logos and brand name 😅
We have a size run of that frame in stock. I’ll mail it out tomorrow if you want one!

The dentist xc bike
Frame me the F up
$14,000?!
Hell no! It’s a bike. As in bicycle. Not a motorcycle. Not a car. A bicycle!
This is a ripoff! This is what’s wrong with cycling. Get out of here Specialized!
Honestly I’m surprised it’s not more. There’s a ton of steps to get to this bike existing in the first place. I mean like aren’t there motorcycles and cars that cost millions. The one of most expensive mtbs the industry has to offer is a fraction of the cost of a high end car or motorcycle.
Queue up the whining Wal Mart shoppers. Middle aged professional men have discretionary income. Get used to it.
And women, honestly sometimes they are bigger spenders then the men are.
@@petersouthernboy6327 Yeah but not a brain worth $1.00. I guess you think spending that kind of money on a bike that gets ridden through terrain barely possible to walk on and you probably won't get 6 months use before it cracks is worth it. 🙄I wish people that waste money like that would use it more towards helping drug addicts and homelessness or feeding hungry kids, Maybe there would be less crime and better humans which could lead to even more people helping more people. I hope you guys enjoy your ride. I would never pay $14,000 for a bicycle. And I'm not poor.😉
People pay taxes for that kinda thing. Not sure I understand it breaking in 6 months either.
Overpriced yet again
We haven’t had an issue selling them so I’m not sure they priced it wrong
Thank goodness the brain is dead. I have had 6 Specialized bikes. I will never purchase another one. My 2013 Epic Marathon cost pretty much half of your S-works which was still expensive. I have had the brains serviced two times. Specialized won't service either of the brains on my bike and hasn't for years. That is not acceptable. I have 1,536 miles on this bike which equates to $4.68 per mile not including the brain service costs. The best feature on this bike is also the worst feature. If anyone knows of a company that will service brain forks and shocks, please reply.
