- How to Narrow your VW Bug Beam / And we're giving it away!
Today we take the lowered Volkswagen Beetle beam we did in and earlier episode and show you how to narrow it.
This was a Type 1 Volkswagen ball joint beam (Beetle, Ghia, Thing) we had laying around so we decided that when we were done lowering and narrowing it we're giving it away. So make sure you are a subscriber and comment below to win. You can also comment in the "How to lower your Bug for Free" video for another chance to win.

Then this vid comes out and you say we gotta say "im in" on this one. And now your saying its not until 500 subs? Losin cool points fellas.

Safety tip... glasses and gloves with a plasma cutter are 2 and 3....most important thing is a respirator...regular use of a plasma cutter without breathing protection will mess your lungs up badly and permanently.

I once had a split bus project getting towed. The master cylinder was missing. Before I could stop the driver, he used the master cylinder bracket to pull the Bus onto the truck. 😢

Beam me up Demon Motorworks!
As a custom motorcycle frame builder, I'd probably have opted to sleeve those joints as well, for added strength.
You could either have made up some snug fitting sleeves of say 1½ inches long, slid them on before you welded the tubes, marked ¾ inch either side of the join, for alignment, then welded your sleeves in place or even just tacked some bits of flat in place and formed them around the tubes, before fully welding them in position.
Not a criticism - you do good work and my ways are probably overkill, but as a time served welder, I guess I tend to over engineer things - better to be safe than sorry.
