Where are you from?
- I am from Germany, born and raised. A couple of years ago I relocated to Australia and been living there ever since.
Can you understand Urdu and Hindi?
- I sadly can’t understand both languages fully, neither can I speak them. However I am able to understand a few words and certain phrases.
Why haven’t you reacted to my recommendation yet?
- Every day I receive countless recommendations from you guys, which I am grateful for. I am trying to read all the comments but it does happen that I miss some out. The main factor is probably my working schedule which doesn’t allow me to film videos daily. Most weeks I can only find a couple of hours in the afternoon to film 2-3 videos. Of course I’d love to film more and film all of your recommendations, however I’m trying to stick with 1 or 2 uploaded videos a week. Quality over quantity.

Fun fact. The national poet of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal has a road named after in Heidelberg Germany called Iqbal Ufer.
He obtained his PhD after spending 6 months in Germany and there is a plaque outside the house he stayed in

also Iqbal's kids were raised by a German nanny. she lived with them and even moved to India with them.

Agree very much, that's the bitter fact no matter how well it's translated, the way it's been put in Urdu simply can't be expressed in English. This is also true to the fact that in Urdu words can have many meanings even if they are few just by the way they are said.
@@the_matchless I agree with you, so much gets lost in translation…hopefully one day I’ll be able to get to learn the language and be able to understand more.
@@jolaa that's good spirit. Let's hope. The translation here is not literal, meaning that it's not word by word. It's trying to express the meanings of the verses in English so that the non Urdu people can understand what's being said in the overall sense. I am just wondering if it would help had there been yet another word by word translation on top allowing people to have the freedom to explore more as they use their imagination.
@@jolaa Urdu is a mix of many languages, it uses many words from Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Hindi, English etc. It is a language that formed through the invasions of many cultures in the subcontinent over a period of several hundred years. Urdu has the quality of taking in words from other languages which it may not have natively. The Urdu script is driven from Arabic mostly. Here's a starter :).

I've been watching all your reactions for this season and just absolutely loved seeing the emotional connection you had with the songs. My family is a little old-schooled and conservative so we don't talk about or listen to music all the time or have the same taste, but your videos brought me SO much happiness and were an opportunity to for me to channel my excitement and amazement for all their songs. Thank you so much for sticking to the end. It's definitely a bittersweet ending and I'm crying that it's over. But Coke Studio is phenomenal and I look forward to what they will have in store for us next season!

The band strings was created by Faisal Kapadia alongside Bilal Maqsood. Everyone was saddened by news of the strings getting disbanded in 2021 after making music for almost 3 decades.

Some songs that we can enjoy their music but some of them are really deep with lyrics so it very important to understand them.those lyrics are true essence of the song like this one or Allah ho Akbar and many many more.
