  • In this video, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the Commandant of the ‪@marines‬Corps, General David H. Berger, speaking at the wreath laying and parade for the 247th birthday of the Marine Corps on Nov. 10, 2022. The event performed by the Marine Barracks Washington honored the sacrifices made in our nation’s history.
Watch the Firing Party, Color Guard and the music from the "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and the "The Commandant's Own" United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.
In this video, I interview a Marine captain, one of the ceremonial marchers, who says this is his most fulfilling work since joining. It's a powerful interview to watch.

Not many Investigative Journalist's give HONOR when HONOR is due, Emily is the exception.
America may have her faults, but its still the greatest nation on GOD's green earth !

This video about the US Marine Corps birthday you just posted, is OUTSTANDING !
It's wonderful that you were able to go "behind the scenes" with your camera.
I liked your interview with the young Marine. I love the Marines AKA "Leather Necks"
because without them, we American's probably would not be speaking English, but
    probably another language.
Your audio levels were great with your new wireless mic ! What I really liked the most
was how you used the "natural lighting" of the sun as it highlighted your hair, smile and
beautiful blue blouse at the beginning of your Video. All of these elements combined
drew me in to watch and listen. Your sharp focus throughout your Video was GREAT !
Is it a coincidence at work this morning, I spoke to a group of Veterans in their 70's
and up ? Then, I went around the room and shook each of their hands and told them
as I looked them in the eye: "Thank you" and "Welcome Home."
And yes, some of them ARE Marines ! "Once a Marine - ALWAYS a Marine."
Thank you Emily for giving HONOR and RESPECT to the United States Marine Corps !

Thank you for watching! I appreciate your noticing that I got a new microphone and used it this time and was able to do the interview with it so the audio was better. I wished I had a real camera to get closer video of the parade but I"m glad to hear it looks okay with just my phone.

I just read a history of George Company, 3rd battalion, 1st Marines in Korea. They were just regular guys who showed incredible bravery under the worst conditions imaginable and helped save the entire 1st Marine Division at the Chosin Reservoir. We are very lucky that our regular guys are so outstanding.

I don’t know that history so thank you for sharing. I am in awe of these Marines bravery.

@@michaelk4422 After the Second World War, there was a big push to eliminate the Marine Corps to save money. The argument was that the Army already had infantry, why did the US need another separate infantry force. When in the Korean War, in MacArthur's only professional mistake, the US was overextended and attacked by Chinese forces, the US Eighth Army essentially ran away. The First Marine Division, surrounded at the Chosin Reservoir by a Chinese force 10 times larger than they were, not only attacked their way out of the cordon, but retreated with all their equipment and all of their wounded and dead. After this performance, there was never any talk about eliminating the Marine Corps ever again. When surrounded at Chosin Reservoir, Chesty Puller, commander of the First Marine Regiment, said, "We're surrounded. That simplifies our problem of getting to these people and killing them." Puller is the most famous Marine in history, awarded five Navy Crosses in his career.

@@Ed__Powell Thank you so much for this look back at Marine history. Sadly, most of us were NEVER TAUGHT this in high school History class.
Do you have any TRUTHFUL History books or videos that you would recommend on US Military history ?
Thank you in advance Ed !

@@michaelk4422 Well, I just read "Give Me Tomorrow" about one Marine company at Chosin. But I have shelves full of good books on military history. I tend to like ones that are more personal, so "Helmet for my Pillow" by Robert Beckie about his experiences at Guadalcanal, or his "Challenge for the Pacific", a more straightforward history of the Battle for Guadalcanal, are good ones. Guadalcanal is an interesting battle because it was at the point of the war when the end was in doubt, and the naval, air, and ground force balance of power favored Japan. For the European theater, nothing beats "Ordeal and Triumph" by Ladislas Farago, a biography of General Patton, and the source material for the movie. "Panzer Leader", the autobiography of Heinz Guderian, gives the German perspective from the person who invented the blitzkrieg. A great book about the turning point in the Revolutionary War is "1776" by David McCullough. For Civil War books, there are entire libraries devoted to every aspect. But my favorite Civil War book is a historical novel, "The Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara, winner of the Pulitzer Prize (back when that meant something), about the Battle of Gettysburg. Truly one ofnthe most outstanding books on Gettysburg ever written, and the source material used for that movie as well.

      Hey Sean !
Emily is in a other videos that others have made. Just click on the magnifying glass and type her name in.
This search will locate our friend, but other women with the same name. Yes, you will need to preview the videos to see which ones our friend is in.
Some are on guns, some are political, etc. but you can see & hear Emily's Logic & Critical Thinking Skills remain consistent. In other words, she does NOT flip on the issues like many politicians do.
Great to see you Sean !
