- Here in Malaysia for the MDX Convention and special “One Night in Malaysia” dinner hosted by Mini GT, and this video is a special one.
A conversation with Director Glen Chou as he showcases some relatively unknown rarities that have been made over the years, from special promo models to passion projects to charity models to the unique Director’s Gift exclusives in black chrome.
The stories behind these are fascinating, as is Glen’s insight into the approach of one of the hottest brands in diecast.
Big fan of Glen. Really like what mini GT is doing to the point where I rarely buy hotwheels anymore. Not knocking hotwheels at all. Mini GT just makes models that are more to my particular liking. Glad you had Glen on.
That's exactly how I am. Started with hotwheels, and now I mainly collect Mini gt
I'm so glad Glen explained the value of the weight of the models. For years, many collectors have complained about plastic bases only to be rebuffed with "it's not important." I mean, it kinda is.
This was so cool to watch. You can tell Glen has so much passion and drive for what he does. I am inspired by the continued success of Mini GT and can't wait to see what else they can accomplish. Thanks for documenting this awesome conversation, Lamley Group!

The Lincoln Capri is beautiful. Love how heavy it feels in hand too. I hope Mini GT will produce more classic american cars in the future.
I am a Mitsubishi model collector. So happy with the models Mini GT have produced. At the moment all my models have come from Hong Kong but still so happy with them.
Really liking this company & are new to them. Can't wait to get my 1st 2 models in the mail on monday. Great video

Love these videos with Glen and his insight on the planning and design and overall story that goes on behind the cars. That heavy Lincoln casting with thick paint has the intended feel of a Greenlight 😆 Can’t wait for part 2 hopefully before next year!
Amazing pieces. I have 64 Mini GTs in my collection. 48 GR Supras, 10 MK4 Supras, and 6 TRD 3000 GTs.
I'm still missing the silver TRD 3000 (#200). Hopefully I can get one someday.

@@paullutz457 I'm not into chases, a full collection of Supra Mk4 by MiniGT is good enough for me (minus the chases).

I've invested so much into hot wheels premium/real riders the top hot wheels,it wouldn't make it plausible to start collecting mini gt but if would start again it would be MINI GT 😢
More German, and classic American cars, please! I’d love to see MiniGT make some Volkswagens, specifically a MK6 Jetta GLI.
Nah, we need modern American cars like the Neon SRT 4 and C7
@@seismic6435 I feel like auto world would make that dodge and corvette before MiniGT… Not many premium manufacturers make Volkswagen, and the few that do only make Beetles or Buses.

What would John know about scales bigger than 1/64
it has side mirror, rolls, good paint, nice wheels and details, size properly, also fairly price. i can see why mini gt can take miniscale market share so quickly

These cars are really nice it's ashame they are not sold in stores so others can buy them. eBay these cars are pricey. Hard to choose which car I like all a sweet

I love Mini GT! I collecting!. If i have a lak of space, i would sell some Hot wheels premiums, but never a Mini GT!

WOW what? for this? RARE ????? this is SCARCE, not rare. Rarity is found with time, not with a forced production of just a few units. These are just EVENT CARS. Give people some years and they will notice each year had dozens of events that just served as catalog promotion and miniature reselling, and someone will eventually understand that these rarities have no substance.
Every time i see this. I wonder why we spend even a dollar on hotwheels...
