I once played an obscure game many MANY years ago (maybe 15 or more) in which a character gave an over the top evil speech in a very similar style to Fandaniel here. Unfortunately I do not remember for sure the name of the game except it was in space, and I have no way to find out if it was the same guy.
This is several episodes back now so you probably aren't confused anymore, but if you want the origins of zodiark, why this just started the final days and what is going on, go back and watch the cut scene with hythlodaeus at the end of shadowbringers where he tells us about the final days.
Zodiark has always physically been on the Moon, just as Hydaelyn has also been physically somewhere else. No need for the ascians to summon him, he's here since they summoned him like 12 000 years ago. He was sundered though, so their goal was to make him complete again with the rejoinings.

"The little fucking psychopath..." Two, let's be real here, this isn't surprising when his introduction in post-Shadowbringers was his maniacal laughter and dancing around Zenos in glee. He was crazy from the start. It's also always funny and surprising to see Anima, who looks like a trial, relegated to a dungeon boss, and Zodiark, who looks like a final endgame boss, to be relegated to being the FIRST TRIAL of an expac. Welcome to Endwalker. There's definitely more to come.
Dawntrail isnt that bad, just alot of world building and feels nowhere near as epic as endwalker or shadowbringers, it was never gonna live up to the last 2 expansions before it.
