I think the advent of t5, combined with the new mixed meta, has really increased the importance of fillers. Sure, you can have emp pieces, but if the opponent has 50% more or even double the t5 you have, you're most likely going to lose. Before, every filler was essentially the same. t4, some sigils. But now, you have t5 fillers, which greatly increase the strength of the rally, which increases the importance of fillers.
I honestly hate it. The new rules of mix battles pretty much invalidate the need for Emp pieces and baron jewels, all you need is t5. It helps sometimes like here allowing us to defeat opponents we would have needed doubles to knock out but it becomes annoying when the shoe is on the other foot. For example Drefrel last baron was tanking doubles from accounts with better gear that should have beaten him with solo rallies on an even playing field. Game was better when any mixed march could be beaten by a single blast from a moderately geared player because now some guilds are untouchable on forts
Even with equal gear and t5 counts the margin for victory/defeat with mixed battles is very small. Great example of that is Tashi vs ImSoNotNice. Tashi cannot ever defeat Joe on a solo mixed rally unless Joe makes a significant mistake on formation choice even with even t5 numbers because Joe has higher stats from baron jewels. In the past, Tashi could still blast to knock him out but that’s almost completely out of the question now. Therefore Joe is now untouchable when fighting Tashi without a double or triple rally. This is the sad unfortunate reality for the game now. Fort battles are now completely unbalanced
@@RyRyRyangaming From my observations, it seems like normally the higher t5 count wins, as long as the stat difference isn’t too large . However, when two guilds both reach the realistic maximum of t5 (60%), then it comes down to whoever has the highest stats. In that case, baron jewels and base stats/emp pieces come into play, which you’ve explained well. I definitely think that this isn’t the best way to go about it, as skill plays less of a factor now. One other thing I’ve noticed is that large families like KW and LH are somewhat struggling now, as their t5 counts are, from my observations, consistently lower than, say, iso, np$, and ins, which costs them barons and bases. You also see that in 720 currently, 4 guilds own base against 12, due to low t5 counts and slightly less stats. While those factors before wouldn’t matter, as they outnumber 3:1, now, they know that it’s difficult to compete and don’t even bother to fill.
@@RyRyRyangaming My theory is that due to their large family, their average filler cannot supply ad much t5 as someone from a “smaller” family such as the INS/EoH/A83/HaH organization, who has higher standards for who can join.
Sugarbane was able to defeat lh rally leaders this time until they joined brr family. Because brr have a lot of t5 fillers and then matty defeated bane in every single hit.

We’ve fought KW multiple times. This ineptitude is pretty typical of them actually. This is the first time we’ve fought them where we’ve actually had accounts capable of defending forts. KW are easy to defeat

He have only 2 baron jewels and kw hero have 6 baron jewels and dont even talk about how strong chen ye's account is. Your family won the wow because of t5 count and the fact that most of kw family was sleeping including kw4 hero.

LH/KW/BFP have never seemed to have much t5. I’m not sure why that is
