- The Entire interior of the original Enterprise. This video shows progress on the 1:100 scale model and also demonstrates the massive size of the 1:25 scale model! It's the maddest project I've ever done and I'm loving every second of it!

I had a grand idea of hitting one of the BIG lottery's...100's of millions, and have a full size Enterprise built as a hotel!!
Been saying that for decades.
Paramount has been missing out on millions for not having done that.
🤦🏻♂️ What are they waiting for? Of course, they’d wreck it, like Disney wrecked their stupid Star Wars hotel.
Id have a full size atat
Impossible.
@@Anth230 I think a good engineer could figure it out
this well deserves to go in an art gallery or museum once it's finished- a truly incredible work of art
That would be awesome, thanks for the input and encouragement!
Bones looking down at his feet shows amazing story telling and attention to detail. Can't wait to see the huge finished display.
A few others have also tuned into that little element with McCoy looking down to his feet which I'm very happy about! Thanks for the input and encouragement!
I am so happy I discovered this channel a few months ago. And with each episode I get more enthusiastic to see the final result.
That's very encouraging, thank you!
Seeing your construction and assembly table with the cutout blueprint gives me the itch to build something grand! I love the progress and the ability to watch it as it happens! I also appreciate you pointing out moments of specific episodes as it appears in context in the plan... really gives a sense of reality. Bravo!
Thanks for that input and encouragement, it inspires me to add more little details like that in future videos ;-)
This project is FANTASTIC!
Thank you very much, appreciated!
I salute how you’re challenging yourself. It was a TV show, so to work this out beyond a filming set is unreal. I wonder what CBS might have in their archives?
Appreciated thank you. Indeed working it out beyond a filming set is challenging, but also EPIC fun! :-)
This has been a fascinating journey for me watching all your models to see what it would take to make it all, in the scale you are going to do! I cannot wait and wish you all the best of luck with it all!
Now might be a good time to calculate the Livable square footage of this Beauty. Cheers!
God bless you a whole bunch for this.🖖
Just the fact that you have already made great progress with materials not movie/tv grade, and still looks great! They need to hire you to do the models for the movies/shows!
Comment and encouragement appreciated, thank you!
Beautifully done !!! That 1/25 scale looks so good !!! But that 100th scale will be just 😮
Thank you! Yeah the 1:100 scale is going to be a true beauty for sure!
And to think all I wanted was the bridge as my living room and wedged shaped rooms 2/3rds of the way around.
Mmmm yes. This gives me the fizz
Absolutely INCREDIBLE!
Thank you for allowing me to join your crew.
Can I have one of those fancy red shirts to wear?
Thank you very much, you are welcome, and the red shirt is yours ;-)
This model process is so inspiring! I want to build one myself, even though I do NOT have the time or space to make it happen. Truly beautiful work. Live long and prosper, Mr. Trek.
Very much appreciated, thank you!
I hope you plan on displaying both models in the same exhibit. Amazing work! Thanks for sharing. :)
Thank you! Both models on display is a possibility!
this is amazing.masterpiece work
Thank you!
Just amazing scale, beautiful.
Thank you!
This is absolutely brilliant mate, fair play to you. First watched original Star Trek as a kid in the 1970’s; I like the later series but TOS is always been my favourite. For them on DVD, when the missus is out for the evening I have a few pints and watch some episodes. Huge respect to you pal for your endeavour, looks amazing. All the best from Brighton
Really appreciate that, thank you very much!
I love these detailed updates, and seeing the project take steps closer to the final build. Can’t wait to see the next update!!
Glad you are enjoying the journey as much as I am sharing it, thank you!
@@mrtrek2117 it’s a journey I would miss for all the tea in England (or Romulus Ale…)!
...and some of us worry about where we'll display/showcase our 1/350th scale TOS Enterprise!! 😁🤭
crazy stuff
It is! :-)
I'm not commenting often, but I watch every updates you post. More impressed every time and excited to see the progress of this project. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you, very much appreciated!
Using better materials will really inspire you to make a more polished model. Great job.
Indeed!
Awesome Build ❤ Can't wait to see it finished.
I can't wait either! Thanks for the comment and encouragement!
when your finally done with this, how about you build a supersize Jupiter 2, inside out, to fit all 3 floors to scale !
Fascinating
Seeing that White card reminds me of when I did my HND in Design , I think seeing the 1/32 Saucer will be Something else ..Great vid.
Thanks! I did HND in design too, many years ago back in the 80's. Good times!
@@mrtrek2117 , I did mine 2003 , Great days .
Key Tower Cleveland Ohio is 947 feet tall 57 floors is exact length of US Enterprise 😁
Interesting, will check that out!
Nice to see all of this, finally, coming together!
The 1/100th scale model will still be a very impressive model on its own!
Thank you, and for sure the 1/100 is going to be an absolute beauty! :-)
Bloody Magnificent!!!!!!!
Thank you!
outstanding
Thank you very much!
It has been said there are some jokes in the official blueprints of the Enterprise like a DC3 airplane or something like that;
It occurred to me you can place a 1/25th model car like a Ford 1934 or Kirk’s Corvette somewhere there
That could be fun, a few in-jokes in the model for sure!
absolutely brilliant
Thank you, very much appreciated!
Love this project and love the progress - but I still do not buy the impulse engine room in the saucer section sitting RIGHT on top of the dorsal section. That always bugged me about the Joseph Franz blueprints, and makes even less sense now that I see it in 3D
Talk about a choke point that could disable the ship with a single lucky shot!
Thanks for the input. I'll make that impulse engineering location work, no worries ;-)
Fantastic! Beam me up!
Thank you! Energize ;-)
Awesome!
Appreciated, thank you!
Fantastic work as always!
I always wondered if the saucer undercut is an aesthetic design choice, or if it is an absolutely neccessary aspect of the saucer shape, ie. something to do with the warp field generation. Maybe even something mundane like weight reduction when it was found that the original design of a 2 deck outer edge saucer was too front-heavy.
If you had a laser cutter and 3d printer setup, I can absolutely see you having a lucrative business selling 1/100 frames and superstructures of the Enterprise to serious hobbyists who can skin, paint and finish the models according to their respective skill levels.
Thank you! In the real world the curvature is just cool factor, in the fiction world it is prob to do with warp envelopes and field generation ;-)
👍
Man your crazy 1/25 .... but as a Trekkie myself I love it. Keep up the amazing work brother. Guess we all be watching this build for the next 10 years lol Do you have a time scale in your mind ?
Thank you! The project is a 5 year mission, and it's already a year in, so the finished build will be complete in another 4 years. Buckle up, it's gonna be a blast!
The undercut on the 1:25 seems different to that on the 1:100 although I appreciate this may be due to one being an earlier build.
Which version will you be going with for the final version?
Thanks for the observation and input. It's likely now that I'll be going with the deeper undercut of the 1/100 scale.
This is crazy. It fits well with my philosophy: Never be normal. Nobody remembers normal.
Ha ha, love that. Yeah, normal doesn't work for me, totally not! ;-)
i can get behind that doll house.
Just starting to get an idea of how this is going to be when completed. Epic!
Side quest: what is the building you're standing in front of when you're holding the 1:100 piece?
Thanks, glad the video gave you insight into the completed model. The building is an old church wall.
The cutouts on the 1/100 Saucer supports seem to be totally different than the 1/25 supports. The 1/25 seems to have 2 decks over the indentation and the 1/100 has 1. Is the 1/100 now definitive in your mind?
I will probably be going with the 1/100 version which will be one high ceiling corridor giving access to the outer rim of both deck 6 and 7.
Does anybody know any structural engineers who wouldn't mind doing some probono work for exposure? Even if they're students?
I'm adding my voice to all the folks who like the small detail with McCoy looking down to make sure everything is "alright." =)
Love that folk tuned into that one, thought it was a great little detail, thank you!
where the heck are you going to put the 1/25th model scale once it's finished , seems it'll be too big to even fit in a house. also what do you expect it too weigh once it's all done
It will be stored and displayed in a big studio space. I have no idea how heavy it will be but it will be supported by a strong metal and wood frame.
Nice work.
A film studio would benefit from you set design skills.
Thank you very much!
I'm trying to get my head around this so my question is this; is the 100th scale model being built as a reference model for the 125th scale? I'm wondering why you would choose to build it twice? Amazing dedication sir!
I'm building the 1:100 scale so I can get a clear view of how the interior will be and how the decks will be displayed. Any and all mistakes will be made and corrected on this smaller scale version so that when it comes to the massive model, it's literally just a case of up-scaling. Also it's more do-able to take the smaller version to conventions and such.
I don’t want to be a bummer but the 25th scale super structure doesn’t match the 100th scale one. Is that an earlier version?
No bummer. The 1/100 is slightly different.
I just had a thought; will you have the saucer section landing pads (shaded areas) be operational? ;-)
In what country will it be displayed?
You did 1:100, you're working on 1:25 - will 1:6 be next? And then 1:1? ;)
As seen in numerous cutaways, there is access clear across deck 7 although not the full "standard" deck height of others. You also portrayed this design previously. Am curious why you now have the hull arc so much more pronounced that it deletes this.
Good observation and question. The reason for the deeper arc is that I found it is possible and a nice design element to have a single corridor giving access from both the inner part of the saucer at the level of deck 6 and 7 to the outer part. It also gives itself nicely to multi-level rec areas near the outer edge of the saucer. I'll definitely be showing this in detail several videos down the line! Thanks for the input!
If your 1/25 version becomes a huge success would you consider making a 1/10 scale? A whopping 100 footer😂
If the funding was there absolutely, yes!
🖖🖖🖖🖖
Where are you intending to display this? I assume you're in north west england from the accent?
The location for the display is not yet fixed, it could be in the UK or Europe and it's even possible it could end up in the States. A lot of water to go under the bridge before the model is finished.
Who helps you build these?
Why do you not mention them ?
Do you build it all yourself?
Who will build the big ship ?
Couldn't you just design the big ship on a computer and just get on with it ?
Are all of these smaller models really needed?
We would all enjoy hearing more about the people and events behind the scenes.
sure of your scaling? i used to build 1/100scale models and the pilots from cockpits would fit in a nostril, maybe 1/20th?
If you watch the video and see the 1/100 scale figures on the 1/100 scale model you will see that they could also fit in your nostril.
@@mrtrek2117 maybe it's just a distortion of the lens making it look bigger than it is.
So, when will you start building Enterprise D? 😁
Sorry bud. I did vector analysis for structural loading when I studied architecture but, that was 39 years ago and I'd be out of my depth with a model this complex.
Oh so you gave up on the bigger one, lol.
Your like most, start a project then scrap it. You destroyed that big part of the 1 25th scale build. Some of your models look good but finish one.
This is quite a project. Even more than when Roy Neary built a 1/100 scale model of Devil's Tower in his living room! LOL.
Great movie!
