Another thing you can try is to just "trust the force": pull the arrow back at chest level, eyes on target, and wiggle the bow and arrow around until you feel intuitively that the arrow is pointing in the direction it needs to be, with enough tension to create the proper arc to hit the target. It's hard to imagine how this could be easily mastered in one lifetime with purely materialistic and mechanical thought processes but I think you'd be surprised with the amount of success you could achieve with an open mind. Encouraging young children to start practicing this way could lead to surprising results also, especially when they've grown up practicing a more free form style like this.
This bow is so short, it would already make for a good crossbow prod 😌 speaking if center shot.
But I love every single bit of it and of this video! 🙏
Natives from Amazon forest also shot short draw length bows. They use quite heavy, long arrows, almost the size of an atlatl dart. Its a short range, devastating weapon. Even with modest draws weights (40 lbs or so), it penetrates deeply, normally puncturing both sizes of a large animal, such as an alligator.
Wondering if you could point me in the direction of an example?

you probably dont want to carry around a long bow through the jungle, and shooting into trees for animals you dont actually need a power shot, because or else your arrow will fly off 300 feet into the forest.
i call bs on the gator

The bow is amazing !! It does shoot super fast!! Thanks for the info😀😀
Shortbows, that's my world! :)
I noticed the Dream Theater symbol on your inner forearm. Great band and tattoo!
Love it so cool
Nice litle bow!
One thing I notice for myself is that if I shoot upwards without bending at the waist (or if I shoot horizontally with a pronounced forward lean), it shortens the draw length and allows me to use a facial anchor while still maintaining a locked bow arm and settled and stable bow shoulder.
Underrated comment.
Good stuff
Gostei muito apesar de naão falar ingles
this is a good guide thankq, unsolicited advice from me to you would be to explain that you have your newsletter to improve the connective ness of your community and perhaps you could have tips and things related to the stuff you cover, you might already have that but telling us that you do would help. very nice that you explain you don’t sell our information
Tanx
I have a sinue backed 48" osage bow and I shoot 35" arrows with it, super fast and I have killed deer ,rabbits, pheasant it's great for snap shots
To be honest I just bought a bow and not knowing what I needed or doing got a small bow this helps because sometimes the arrow doesn’t even leave bathe bow it just slams into my arm and bow all crazy but it’s so fun
Hey do a deep dish be on arrow weight from tip to notch vs short and long bows I made my own as a teen and tried a bunch of things
Do you mark your arrows to prevent over draw
What do you suggest for the string hitting my wrist
greetings sir and everyone.phenominal,i love that bow.thank you sir.i must build 1😀

Please make a bow for me

🎉
Can you harvest big games with the bow😢
good use of cut scenes, but outros are everything..
longer arrow, okay, i dunno but when i tried a short bow 1 year ago, it is wiggling like crap with 20 inch arrow, and in my mind : i have to correct my technique, then i experiment a while, then i finnaly found the technique to fix it. then now , i shoot 20-21 inch arrow from my short bow, real straight, even a crooked branch arrow. so that's my experience, it'll be not the same like anybody. cheers.
Blackfoot bows where max 40inches
*above the handle, raise the arrow*
how much do your arrows weigh
1:35 I have. Like a mini explosion that sent half of the upper limb sailing back at my face. Almost put my eye out. Wear safety goggles!!!
your placing the row on he wrong side of the bow
"you're" and no he isn't.

Минус естественно.
Make the adult bow 😂
I have a baby guitar, now, bath, house, and the rest is for imagination
Why are you using a Mediterranean draw? If Ishi-style won't work for you, I should expect a thumb release would do pretty well as a substitute.
I don't want to speak for PL, but I suspect that many people default to Mediterranean simply because of how effective and easy it is. Ishi style is fascinating and it certainly worked for him and other California natives, but it's also not very forgiving.
For a short little bow like this , thumb release doesn't work any better than a three finger release. Jeff prefers to use the Med. release ... I prefer Ishi's thumb release method of shooting when we shoot these little bows ... I think it works better for these short bows. But Ishi's method is difficult to master so one reverts to what one is comfortable with.
Thumb draw robs about 8cm of your drawlenght.
A lot of the things you said I've also seen on Billy burgers channel. I can hear motorcycles or a weedwacker in the background...sounds like a giant fart..🤣🤣
Yeah because these skills are universal. Billy did not invent them. The skills we demonstrate on this channel derive from Native American cultures. Not Billy Burger. As far as the weedwacker, that is the price of growth and development in Arizona. previous rural areas are no longer rural. We are trying to adapt to them. Thanks for watching the video and I hope you find these tips useful.
Talking about her w hard it is to pull back a 50# bow😂. I have a 70 pound compound.
A 50# trad bow is significantly harder to draw and hold then a 70#compound.
Compound bows are stupidly easy to shoot, especially with mechanical releases...
lose the training wheels bro. Lol
Compounds have a wall with a massive tension break. Holding a traditional bow at max draw is difficult bc tension and poundage stack like a mofo. Compounds are cake walks compared to real wood traditional bows.
It's not the draw weight alone that makes it harder it's how you have to hold your arm as described in the video.
Also he didn't say it was hard to draw 50 pounds, he said it was hard to draw 50 pounds using his shortbow form, which is DIFFERENT than the straighter form used in a longbow because he holds out the elbow and brings it to the eye..
also compound? LOL!!!
