    Follow along as we cut holes out of our van walls and fit CAMPER VAN WINDOWS.
    About us:
    We're Jodie and Joe and after years of searching for a new home, we realised that London can't offer us the lifestyle we dream of.
    We've quit our jobs and sold our home, and are no longer tied to London, or even the UK.
    So we bought our 2018 Peugeot Boxer and began our renovation to turn it into our perfect little home on wheels.
    As we travel and explore each new place, we will be creating a list of 'must haves' to help us find the perfect place to call home.
    Join us on our adventure as we build our campervan and navigate the highs and lows of vanlife in Europe and more!

    Hi Guys, enjoying your content, and currently building a relay myself, when using primer for windows, its best practice to put it on the van as well. it is probably the worse stuff to try and remove from anything, especially nice paved driveways. its there to ensure the bond has a surface that creates strong adhesion. the bond can peel off shiny surfaces like shiny paint. I am sure you guys will be fine and have no problems. my comment is not intended to sound like a know it all keyboard hero, but mainly for others that follow you and might do the same. I previously worked in the motortrade for 17 years and have fitted many windows to vehicles.
    good luck with the rest of your build. looks like your having a lot of fun

    Looking nice, the only problem I can see is you didn't primer the van before you applied the sealant.

    Great progress 👏

    Warming the tubes of sealant in warm water help it flow more smoothly..I found out the hard way lol.

    Where you have cut the metal, I would have thought about Red Oxide, Undercoat, and metal paint, as water will seep under the rubber surround and in time rust will form

      Anywhere we just metal we used white hammerite paint to seal the raw metal

    Enjoyable content, I watched a few of your videos and they are very watchable, informative, natural content and you're not scared to show 'first timer experiences'. Question for you ...would you recommend those Camper Glass windows? I have exact same in my shopping basket for Ducato but was concerned about the bottom left corner of big window being so raised (approx 7:10).

    • @JodieandJoe
      @JodieandJoe  Před 2 lety +1

      We suspect it is raised because we clamped it in too hard in the middle and warped it slightly. The actual window is great quality. All the downsides have been a result of our poor fitting 😂
      Would recommend them!

    Good stuff guys. I felt nervous for you when you cut through the van . I want that same size of van and plan to do the same . Its good seeing the process.
    Btw, what height are you dude? . I'm 5' 5" . You're making me nervous I won't be able to reach the pedals 😄 . I assumed vans were just like cars to drive.

    • @JodieandJoe
      @JodieandJoe  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm only just taller than you and reaching the pedals is completely fine!
      The main part that gets me is the weird seating position compared to a car, your legs are bent whilst your feet are fully extended.

      @@JodieandJoe OK, that sounds fine. I guess it'll be something that you'll get used to over time . Thanks.

      We have no idea Lenny! Must have happened before we bought it.

      @@JodieandJoe Maybe you did not notice at time of purchase but I think it is easily pulled out and smoothed over.

    ive been in the motor trade and building vans for over 30 years and have watched several of these videos from choice and purchase to this stage of fitting windows,and although with all good intentions then if theres a wrong way and most expensive option to go about it then you find it. you cut from the inside out as theres a body moulding to show you where to cut. id imagine the first vans you looked like that instantly sold as you left the garage before you came back were still available as to a garage then your the type of customer thats pure poison to be avoided at all costs. no doubt you will end up with a nice finished article though its painful watching you go about it.
