ahh i grew up in the philippines so it brings back sm memories !! i moved away a few years ago tho so i havent had it in a while. i usually had chicken and burger steak though 😋😋
i went when i found one in cali i love chicken sandwich and the pineapple refresher and i cant forgot the peach mango pie!
yum! at jollibee I usually get the chicken joy leg combo with pineapple juice, rice and gravy as well as a pie! my favourite is the ube pie but it looks like it was discontinued at the location in Calgary I went to on vacation 😞 but regardless it is delicious!!

I went to Jollibee yesterday in NYC, I ordered for my family bucket of chicken, spaghetti, and the 3 pies, combo. It was good. I want to try chicken adobe rice side next time.

Yay, Jollibee!! ❤️ honestly the best things on the menu would be the Chickenjoy + white rice + gravy + peach mango pie = 🤌🏻 also glad that you liked the Spaghetti! Filipino palette tends to be more on the sweet side so that’s our version of spaghetti. Could be an acquired taste for some people.
For the halo-halo, I guess you’re supposed to mix everything but I definitely eat the leche flan first because I like it solid instead of getting mixed into the rest of the halo halo :)
If you ever plan to come back to Red Ribbon please do try their chicken empanadas and the brazo de mercedes or sansrival cakes! :)

The sauce in Pancit Palabok is shrimp gravy. It's a traditional Filipino dish, we also drizzle citrus extract on it, in the Philippines they provide calamansi, but in the USA they provide lemon packets.

It's a fast food chain from the Philippines 🙂
Well, it used to be an ice cream parlor in the mid 70s but started serving hot meals and sandwiches which eventually outsold the ice cream. It then tried to emulate Mcdonalds when it arrived in the Philippines in the 80s. But with its own hit chickenjoy and jolly spaghetti, it's the mcdonald's Philippines who came up with their own fried chicken and mcspaghetti to cater to the filipino palate. So yeah, McDonald's is Jollibee's main competitor here in the Philippines.

The aloha burger is really similar to an Aussie Burger - grilled pineapple bacon cheeseburger and (in some cases) beets. I first had it in Australia and then recreated it at home - so good! You should find a place to try it

Had it in London for the first time a few weeks back, so good. By far the best fast food chain chicken. I’ve been to Manila before and never tried it, but now I know. It’ll be top of my food list next time.
I haven't been to Jolibee since I lived in SF. The Chickenjoy with rice & gravy is *chef kiss* plus peach mango pie.

it depends on you actually if you want to mix the ice cream and the flan! but most of us as kids eat those toppings first before mixing the entire thing lol it’s like an extra dessert 😋

I went to red ribbon last month. I tried the ube flan in a slice, it was amazing!!
The PIE CRUSTS on these pies used to be the same ones the pies McD's formerly sold back in the day--before that company switched to the crusts for their pies nowadays. Also, POPEYES' sold pies with the same crusts a while back. IMPHO, this crust is waaaaay better tasting! 👏💯

In regards to the Banana Langka Pie, I think the reason you’re not getting much of that Banana flavor is because of the Langka (Jackfruit). Anyways, hope to see more Filipino inspired foodie videos! ✌🏼😎

Hi Meimei…on your halo halo question whether to mix the ice cream and Leche flan, whatever your preference. I, personally, would mix both with everything, so if the ice cream is ube then the whole halo halo will have a stronger ube flavor. Love all your vlogs.

You can eat your halo-halo any way you want. Sometimes I eat the ice cream on its own first and sometimes I mix it in. I try not to break up the leche flan too much though because I want to be able to taste it as is.
Jollibee! My faves are Chicken Joy dipped in gravy, Aloha Burger, Peach Mango Pie and Pineapple Juice.

The chickenjoy is so good that I think I can finish a whole bucket.
My go-to is the Palobok Fiesta with fried chicken! The burger with rice was salty because of the gravy, so it's good for you to have plain rice with it to cut thru all that salt. I definitely would give the banana pie with vanilla ice cream on top. :)

Love Jollibee! My friend and I go to the Serramonte or Daly City location. Our favorite is the Spicy Leg/Thighs, Spaghetti, Aloha burger and Peach Mango Pie. I live in the East Bay and my friend lives in SF, but we BART it over there at least once or twice a month to get our Jollibee fix!

Should try Chow Kong, a Chinese Filipino Fast Food place like Jollibee sort of! Jollibee owns it! Chow King has “Chinese” style Fried Chicken with different flavor and different texture! It has Filipino style Dim Sum and Filipino Bao Buns which is called Sio pao! It also has Soups you can try with other Filipino Chinese style foods and Drinks to try! If your town or City has a high concentration of Filipinos you may have a Chow King!
