He would play his guitar and sing ‘Malagueña en voz alto, con gritas!He, Manuel Campos, raised his family in Monterey, CA by playing music. He knew John Steinbeck, and my mother was born above his cantina ‘El Rancho Grande’ on Cannery Row. My grandmother would give credit to the fishermen, knowing when they came back from fishing, they’d settled up their debts.
Love the personal interpretation, really keeps the listener's attention. Out of several recordings I heard, this felt the most dance-like. Not sure how the extra instruments came in but I liked it! Handsome guy, too.
My daughter is learning a very simplified version of this song and I've been looking it up so I can hear what it's supposed to sound like as she's struggling with it. This is bewitching. And it's not at all what it sounds like when she plays it lol
