- Welcome back to Ian Mac Woodturning, In this weeks video I turned a big piece of Pine, think I'm going to stop using it for a while because I'm sick of cleaning my bandsaw from all the resin that comes out of these logs!

If you are going to forget the pine there is always Leylandii❤ thank you for your videos Ian. I look forward to them.
Haha I might get some Leylandii out soon Jen! Hope you're doing well :)
Super Super Super
Thank you!
That's not only unique in its style; it's beautifully executed, as well. And, that grain in the pine is fantastic.
Thanks! I really appreciate your comment :)
Love it
Cheers mate!
Very nice. Well done!
Thanks Doug!
This is just beautiful. Amazing to see you take a less-than-beautiful piece of pine and turn it into a work of art.
Thanks Jane!
hi ian mac good luck with this piece of wood hope it turns out very nice from paul chapman at London uk 🏴 🇬🇧
Thanks Paul!
What a great shape! With that bold grain the pine seems to do well made into a larger piece. Really shows off the colors too. Thank you for a great video!
Thanks for your support Gwynn! Hope you are doing well :)
I paused mid way, the shape you have going looks like a possible double bowl. Which, I think, would be unique piece. But if you continue on and make a vase, I love the shape. The ring going around the neck. 😃
Ok, I finished video. Such a pretty piece. Was curious, on pine, there isn't any problems with sap? Some carvers tend to steer clear of pine for that reason.
Haha I saved the other piece for another day! Yeah that's definitely an issue with the Pine, my bandsaw blade is covered in resin!
Another master lesson of turning! Thanks for sharing Ian!
Haha thanks Umberto! Hope you are doing well my friend
Love your woodworking skills. Thanks for sharing your talent
Thanks Roy, I appreciate you watching & commenting! Hope you are well.
From one Wood Turner to another nice work on the pine. I have only turned 3 pieces of some mysterious evergreen I think Juniper in the Townships recycling dump for yard waste. I find it pretty relaxing. Because of the smell of the wood is just like Red Cedar, and it doesn't grow here in central Pa. Happy turning my friend ☺️
Thank you very much my friend, hope you continue to turn and continue to find free wood haha
Wunderschön 🤩
Good job Ian!
Such a unique look, it's beautiful
Thanks!
Beautiful
Beautiful bowl Ian.
Thanks Jack! Hope you're doing good mate
Great work as always 👍👍
Thank you my friend :)
Beautiful Piece, thanks for sharing. Full View and Like 👍
Many thanks Allen!
I have some pine log , but just by picking it up I know it is not going on my tools but maybe in the wood stove , LOL BM
Probably not a bad choice to make haha
I'm a new subscriber and have tried turning pine with minor success. What finish are you putting on your pine pieces.
Hi mate, I don't turn too much of the lighter pine trees but this red pine seems to come out alright, I generally use sanding sealer and then may apply some bees wax and buff that up but I have a variety of different polishes and varnishes that I'll use on different pieces.
Good job what kind of pine is it
Thanks Jim! I'd be lying if I knew exactly the type, it's definitely a red pine of some sort.
Not rotten at all...a bit of bug stain is all.
