- HOMEMADE DELICIOUS 2 Ingredient Biscuits
Salt is a freebie ingredient (just like on professional cooking shows) and is NOT NEEDED! I used it only for my preference.
So it is still only 2 ingredient recipe! Please no hateful comments.
These biscuits blew my mind! I was amazed at how wonderful they are.
I normally use Southern Biscuit Mix Formula L but during these times that has been hard to find.
These biscuits were so fluffy and I was absolutely amazed!
Biscuits
2 cups self rising flour
1&1/2 cups heavy cream
Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes!
They are wonderful!!

I've been making these for years, except I use 2 cups of cream. Makes it easy to remember 2 cups flour, 2 cups heavy cream
I do too. Less than that, for me anyway, seems to make tougher biscuits that don't rise as high. Maybe difference in flours, thickness of cream, air humidity, but for me, equal parts is perfect, like this great recipe.
No music in the background....just the pleasing sound of bacon frying...i love it!
I just seen ur com. Of the bacon fryin in background no music plus that it's a pastor who farms & without even watching vid yet I subscribed to this so I know God talkin to me through my love of food in away God bless yall🤗

Over the years I have tried several different biscuit recipes; some were kind of good, others not so much. Saw this video and decided I had nothing to lose by trying it. FINALLY!! Found one that works! They rose up so pretty, didn't fall apart, and tasted great!!! I didn't have self-rising flour, so I had to make my own, but that's okay! For every 1 cup of flour add 1 1/2 tsps Baking Powder and 1/4 tsp salt. So for this recipe it would be 2 cups flour, 3 tsps (1 Tbl) baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. I whisked it all together, then put it back through the sifter to make sure it was well mixed. Thank you Leslie for posting this!!!
That’s Awesome Ann
*Ann* I'm sold. Thank you!

What is a substitute for Formula L. ?
I’m also a Pastor’s Wife and you have to be ready in a moment’s notice (or less) to cook for any number of folks. Thanks for showing this new method for me. I will pass this on to my daughter & granddaughters. Blessings to you, Dianne Tomlin Crestview, FL
Hi Dianne ☺️
What a small world! 🌍
I am originally from Crestview, and still have a huge family there!
I've lived in TX now for about 30
years, but love love love to come "home" to Crestview! 🌴
Matter of fact, I was just there for a week in early Dec. 😁
Hi ladies, I'll say the world just got alil smaller. I'm a born & raised Crestview native myself. Met a Texan & moved to TX in '93. Was just home over the christmas break, all my fam & grandkids are in Hub City & surrounding areas. I LOVE to cook & watch these videos, i learn something all the time & ive spent my entire life working in a kitchen. Hope y'all have a blessed new year! ❤🙏❤
I noticed as soon as your cooking got going everyone came to the kitchen. Mamma must cook good vittles
They look AMAZING. will have to make them this weekend for Sunday dinner
I was so skeptical of these biscuits except for Leslie, so I tried them tonight for supper. I also used her Salmon Patty recipe. Oh my goodness! First, these biscuits are simply amazing!!!! I made eight biscuits and they were gone in a flash. Even though the dough felt heavier than what I’m used to, they rose up fluffy with a good crust on top. Oh my word, why make anything else. Two ingredients, y’all! Who knew?!! Next, the salmon patties were the best that I’ve ever made; the absolute BEST!!! Served with sliced peaches from the can, that was dinner. I’ll be making this again and again. Thank you, Leslie!!!! 😊😊😊😊😋😋😋😋
Great!!! So glad to hear everything went well
Ma'am! These biscuits are THE best I have ever tasted. Moist, buttery, melt in your mouth, wonderful deliciousness. When people speak about bread of heaven they had to be talking about these. I made a batch, froze them, and baked them 2 days later just to see if they would taste the same and they did. Never using another recipe again. Thank you!
Whoa!
Gotta make these!! I’ve made several of your recipes!! Every one I made turned out perfectly!!
Love this video, real life world of cooking with everyone walking in. The best total reality
You’re kitchen looks so warm and friendly! The biscuits look yummy! Thank you for this feel good video!!!
I thought I knew how to make biscuits.... Tried these today & learned a new, better way. I have NEVER had a biscuit so light & fluffy. Good thing I made only 1/2 recipe. Wonderful! Thanks.
awesome
💯 thanks for sharing. Love biscuits and butter. God bless you and family. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🌷🌟🙂
I've just been using heavy cream to make icecream. Now I'm adding biscuits. I lost two lbs so I'm making these to celebrate 😊 Don't judge me
No judgement here girl!! I believe I may make some while on vacation.
Biscuits are one of the best ways to celebrate!! Try adding a bit of cocoa powder (and sweetener to taste) for chocolate biscuits. 😋
You are adorable!!
Lol. Amen!

Hi Leslie, love the biscuits, (or scones as we call them here). If you roll out the dough into a rough square or rectangle like you did, then use a knife and cut them into squares, the job's done, you don't have to gather up the leftover dough from cutting the rounds and rework it to use the dough up. You'll have square biscuits, but no extra work, and they'll taste just the same, cheers from Australia.
@denise baber Thanks Denise, the light of reason is shining brightly in your life, take care, stay safe, and have a great day. Greetings from Down Under.
I've cut my biscuts square this for years. I told my homemaking clients that no one had trouble from eating the corners.
@@bethroundell8424 :-)), good onya Beth !!, and you can fit more jam and cream on the corners !! :-)), cheers and stay safe.

You're a life saver. 👍🏽🙂
Lady! I suck at making biscuits! They're hockey pucks, tasteless or didn't rise. Gave these a try and they're to die for. When you held that skillet up to the camera, I swear I could smell them. Many thanks for posting this.
awesome to hear!!

@@alicel3992 baking with flour is one skill that wasn't passed down to me by my mom. Everything else she taught me about cooking was (in her words"was for survival"). She must have known that my ex could burn water, believe me she has tried, on several occasions!😄 And pastas, oh lord! They were either rubber( like the kind inside bicycle tires) or liquid form. Someone and their infinite wisdom somewhere down the line must have told her " if you throw a noodle on the ceiling and it sticks, it's done! By the time I moved out, the 'popcorn' ceiling looked more like a second graders macaroni art.
@@wizardwillbonner mine too. My mother made the best biscuits. I never learned how she did it. I'm going to try these and see if I can do any better.
@@bonnienolan4526 you'll be surprised at how good they are. If they come out where the stick to the roof of your mouth cook, a longer. Also try but not the first time you make them, if you don't like the flavor add a pinch of salt.
I like how your family just randomly joined! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 THAT my dear is apart of your personality! I also like hope he turned the bacon over while you were making biscuits💗
I think that was the most perfect biscuit I have ever seen. I cannot wait to try these
I just found your channel and subscribed as you recipe was so easy to follow! Thank you for the recipe! I didn’t have enough whipping cream so I improvised so I did was add 1 cup of whipping heavy cream and add 1/2cup of plain yogurt tot he 2 cups of self rising flour and it came out the biscuits super soft and fluffy. May GOD bless you! I JesusChrist our Lord , Amen!
Karen, it sounds like you're a true believer in her biscuits!!! LOL...me too.

Those are some pretty biscuits!!! Thank you, Ma'am!

I love biscuits put never had luck from scratch making them ❣️👍
You made some beautiful looking biscuits from 2 simple ingredients...👍👍 to the lady of the 🏠 & save 2 for me 😊...
OMG! Momma's baking and bacon in the pan draws everyone to the kitchen! LOL. I have never bought self rising flour before but I'm about to. Looks so good.
If you don’t have self rising flour you can just add Tsp.of baking powder and 1 tsp of salt and you have your self rising flour.
Stanley Kirby
Thank you for telling us how to make all purpose flour into self rising flour🤗
For 1 cup of flour?
@@loreneknight9755 good question
@@loreneknight9755 I use one teaspoon of baking powder for each cup of flour.
@@loreneknight9755 For every cup of flour, add 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. 😀
I love biscuits I can't wait to try your recipe
Thank you for sharing. I love your natural style of presenting
My wife tried this with coconut milk (it is what we had in the cupboard), and it worked out well. Simple is best.
I have to rethink what I've been doing! I make soda biscuits the laborious way with sweet butter blended in with a pastry cutter! I once had no buttermilk for pancakes and used heavy cream and they were insanely light, almost like a dessert! So I would imagine your biscuits were quite lite too. You are a doll! I was wondering how many more people would be coming thru that doorway! 😂
Hey man
I love that dish you are using! It’s old time and that’s what makes it wonderful!
I can't wait to try these!!!! Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this. They look so good. I'm going to the store and come back to make these biscuits.
Thank you! I'm not a good baker and this is so easy to make. Gonna try them soon.
I tried making these today and they are really good. It's very, very humid today, so I ended up only needing to use about a cup of the cream, so keep that in mind when you bake these. I love recipes with only a few ingredients! :)
Thank you for sharing. I have the 16 0unce. Is that enough?
Wish I would’ve read this before making lol to late now
Love how unstaged and natural this is! Off to buy those 2 ingredients. Thanks.

Reminds me of my grandma....down home cooking. I'm trying this
I made it! It was 😋!
I did not know Formula L was a thing! I'm in Ohio, so I don't know if region plays a role in that. I used to bake and cook a lot when our kids were young. They're grown now! :( So I have to keep meals interesting for me and my husband. These biscuits sound like a great addition to some sausage gravy!
I loved the recipe but I adored your favourite bowl. It's nice to see someone who has a great heart.
Y'all are so home loving!!!❤ Can't wait to try this recipe!!!😋
Hi there!
I like how busy your kitchen is with family and all....looks fun😘.
Gonna try your biscuit ingredients.
Love your recipe, but especially your mixing "pan". It's what I grew up with as a washpan.
I just mention to my son---look than is the same kind of pan my grandmother mixed everything in. (I am from southern part of Missouri)
Phyllis Brown my mom has this pan and a bigger one, she made all her yeast doughs in them. My sister asked her for them and she’s got them now! 💕great memories!
Yeah I also love that enamelware pan! Sweet memories!
I have one of these for my baking. In Scotland.
Phyllis, I had this same thing for a WASHPAN, too. A lot of people won’t even know what we are talking about...
I made these tonight and stunned my family (I made great biscuits). Thanks!

I do love me a good biscuit! I grew up on the South and I have a separate folder in my bookmarks just for Biscuits. Thanks for sharing this. I've never heard of Formula L and I'm gonna' have to check it out. But how simple is this recipe-- just the 2 ingredients. Do you have a favorite self-rising flour? (I can hear my husband now saying--"Why change a good thing, now that you've finally found a recipe that we love???? ";) ) He's patiently endured a lot of biscuit experiments. I grew up in the Deep South and biscuits are their own food group, in my opinion!
This is the first of your videos that I've seen and I loved hearing your family come through there and your husband cracks me up--it reminds me of my hubby! We are a farm family as well (mostly crops, but we do have a batch of chickens for eggs and for my husband's entertainment).
"Amazing biscuit" you say ?..."Amazing biscuit how sweet the taste, that convinced a wretch like me, yes indeed I can make them myself, as me myself shall see". (you know the tune) :-)
yes I do!

Thank you for your recipe! I made. Easy and Good.

I love how easy this looks! I watched my mom cook from scratch but I didn't follow her footsteps over the years. I still have her recipes, just in case, Lol, but I am adding this one to file! I think even I can pull this off! I do remember her telling me one of the secrets was Not to over-knead the dough. I noticed you followed that as well. I'm so excited to try these.
