Trout Fishing the most INCREDIBLE water I've ever seen!! || North Georgia Trout Pt. 1

- NORTH GEORGIA PART 1 - Georgia isn't really known for its trout fishing. However the Appalachian mountain range reaches as far south as Georgia and has some of the most beautiful water I've ever fished. North Georgia is the farthest south that trout can survive in the Southeast of America. These mountains are full of brown trout, rainbow trout, and brook trout (the only trout native to the area).
In this video we explore new creeks in search of some wild rainbow trout but struggle during a cold front. With snow falling and temperatures dropping into the 20's the fish shut down. We persevered and were able to catch a handful of trout on the fly. I hope you enjoy following along on our first ever trout fishing adventure in North Georgia!
Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
I live in Rome and love North Georgia fishing. I will say you have to trout fish seasonally, the natural browns are beyond hard to trick. The little brooks are ab all you can get until stock. I like yall getting up stream and showing the hike in.
I know exactly where ya'll are. My childhood stomping grounds. Good fishing.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Where is that
@@thomasmyers6000 north Georgia
Looking for where that is in Georgia. Looks like good fly fishing.
@@byronspencer539 Thanks for the tip.
Great video as usual. Really enjoy watching you guys in my home waters.
I appreciate your videos I had no idea there was such beautiful Rivers up in the mountains in North Georgia I definitely want to find some of those and fish them so I'm going to do my homework. Like you have. Thanks for your videos
Check out Rock Creek.
Oh wow thanks
Thank you for the wonderful video.
Beautiful the Appalachian has some beautiful water with great fishing
Yes it does! Thanks for watching
Fished these streams all my life. Closing in on 60 years. It’s beautiful, but it can be rugged. I love it!!
That’s definitely the truth! Thanks for watching!
I am actually headed through North Georgia....could you share what are the best streams?
@@BruleWanderer one is wild cat creek but im 5 months late sorry
Good to see you in my neck of the woods for once!
It’s an awesome area!
y'all fishing my home waters & yes it's tough at times. thank you for giving our streams a good try. the fish are there i promise. let me know when you return. i have some streams for you to try on...
Thanks for the video. Great job.
So beautiful place for fishing
Good to see you enjoying the beauty of the southern Appalachians
Thank you!
Hi from Calgary Canada. Thanks for the video
Great videos. I’m new to northern GA and can’t wait to explore some of these rivers.
Man, you guys put so much effort into your content... I’m sure I speak for all of us subscribers when I say WE APPRECIATE IT! Awesome work, guys.
Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you and everyone else enjoys the videos so much. We do put a ton of effort in and it is nice that people recognize it!
Yes well said brother
Hardman i appreciate your videos. I live in upstate SC & enjoy seeing places that are near me. Awesome adventures. Keep up the good work on the videos. Love watching
Those little creeks have fish in them for sure. Very rarely do you see them when not going after your fly. Winter is tough fishing up there, come up in the summer and you will have a blast!
That’s what several people have told me and is actually my plan! Maybe not summer but I’ll give it another month or two and come back in the spring. Thanks for watching!
Keep em coming great videos
Well done 👍🏻🎣
North GA is definitely addicting country, one of my favorite places to be!
It is pretty cool!! Thanks for watching!
"I don't see how people possibly fish this?"
Welcome to Georgia!
That is nothing compared to some almost belly-crawling wild brook trout streams.
No criticism intended by any means. I have truly enjoyed watching you Hardman.brothers immensely! Keep the videos coming guys!!!
Thank you!!
Always wanted to hit the Holston and Watauga when I lived in North Carolina but was too busy with work. Still on the bucket list. Lots of options in Western NC and Eastern TN too.
I’ll get up to those states eventually! Thanks for watching
Nothing quite like the thrill of new water. I’d say you did pretty well, considering how challenging those conditions were. That was some rugged country! Looking forward to the next installment!
New water is the best. Never know what’s around the next corner. Thanks for watching!
Superbe movie nice fishing my friend wow thanks for sharing big like big up
Wow. As per usual. 👍🏻🙂 I did the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius and yeah that's kinda chilly alright. 😮 Hardy feckers you are. 😁
Yessir it was chilly indeed! Thanks for watching
Great video!
Thank you!
Doing the work to get to the fish is a major part of the reward...beautiful scenery! Great job bringing the videos to those of us who can't be there.
Wow that was some treacherous terrain and even though you didn’t catch many fish it was still a beautiful place and I would love to get there one day. Unfortunately I’m getting old and climbing up some of the sand hills here in Nebraska gets me worn out. Love your videos.
No way Nebraska is real ots a Cia experiment it gotta be
Super sweet!! Great video
Thank you!!
Love it
Amazing video
Brook trout are the only native trout to Georgia browns and rainbows are stocked beautiful video I love the north Georgia mountains … they are only about an hour and a half away from me
Exactly...
Oh yeah, I've had trips like that. Good video! Showing how to tough it out. BTW, wait till you are 56 and 50lbs heavier and try fishing those streams. Enjoyed the flick!
Hahaha fair enough! Glad you enjoyed!
Getting old sucks
Outstanding video gentlemen!! 🙌
Thank you!
That brookie @ 5:35 is a beast whatever you say! The natives up here in New England might be a foot or less on average. Monsters are smaller than that one! Nice fish!
That wasn't a wild brookie, that was a stocked. If it was wild it would be huge that but that was a stocker.
Welcome to mountain fishing. Been at it since the 80s. Try the Tellico area on your way back up since you went right by it on the way down. Some big holdovers in there and would make a good episode. Good luck guys
Great content
This is what a regular wild water outing looks like in N.GA/Western NC....Incredibly beautiful waters, challenging terrain, tiny gems...one really has to work for the hidden wild ones. I have fished lower watersheds in NC similar here to what HFA homewater in WV looks like and never seen the likes of those giant browns ya'll are pulling out of those muddy creeks! Ya'll have got some untapped nutrient rich waters up there! Cool to see ya'll checking out the difference in local zones...Its all in the spirit of adventure though catching a fish keeps me going back.
Yep we just like exploring. We’re planning on working up the east coast and catching wild trout in each state. Should be a fun little challenge for sure. Thanks for watching!
Nice sound tracks😃
Your videos have been so underrated for a long time, happy to see you finally get bigger and bigger. Epic locations man, thats what i love about trout fishing!❤
Thank you so much!! Glad you’ve enjoyed the videos.
Agreed these boys deserve way more subs then they have.
Got to find that place!! 😊
Dig the DRIVE bro ! Stay Motivated, Keep It Tight!
We do our best! Thanks for watching!
great vid, you guys cant get frustrated though, winter fishing for trout, im happy with 2 for the day (especially if i don't know the water). You gotta remember you're spoiled in WV, its why your channel is such a success....slow days will happen
Oh shoot we have these days in WV too, we just don’t post them 😂 not saying we aren’t spoiled with size of fish, but we definitely have bad days.
Y’all = my buddy and me last weekend. Shorter drive but 30+ years older. #whew #fishon
Fish on!!!
I loved your drone video of the streams and terrain. Thanks for taking us with you. Stay safe!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video
Hey guys! I’m one of the happy 2% that is subscribed. Love the vids. T
Thank you so much!!!!!
Yeah man! it can be brutal through the North Georgia mountains but it's beautiful. Holy frick I just watched you jump that gap. Woof
Yeah that gap wasn’t fun. Especially with expensive camera equipment lol
Loved it .. 🥰u gained a subscriber. 👍
Last 200 yards of trail is straight down! Its even more fun on the way back....
Unreal scenery! Looks like something straight out of a movie! Looking to more videos in the mountains!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the video!
What a great watch! One heck of an adventure and beautiful scenery.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Gees! You guys had me holding my breath as you were climbing those cliffs! Beautiful scenery and a gorgeous stream. Thank you for showing me what a stream in N. Georgia looks like.
You’re welcome! And thank you for watching!
Proud North Georgia Native!
It is an awesome place!! Thank you for watching!
Nice vídeo
Regards from Colombia
Welcome to GA. Gotta want it.
You ain’t wrong!
North GA is not the farthest south trout can survive. Excellent trout fishing right down to Atlanta on the Chattahoochee.
Proud being born and raised in north ga
Sick! I want to go next time!
I’ll shoot you an invite for sure!
Respect the grind
Thank you!
That’s how most of my trips go!! Lol. Do it now when you get over 50 and have 10 back surgery’s bro it’s really bad, especially when you don’t hook up!!! Love ur vids keep casting!
That’s crazy! I’m not even sure if I’d be out there after 10 back surgery’s. Keep going man! And thanks for watching
@@hardmanfishing if you get to PA or WV I can put you on fish!!! Lmk
Some of the most beautiful water in the world! But fishing N.E. Ga. can kick your ass! 🤣It's a young man's game!
First fish was amazing, that's a big brookie! Wild and native is the real gold
I agree 100%, I’ll be back for them for sure
Been watching your vids for awhile, thought I was subbed but just had to resub. Everyone make sure you’re still subbed
Thank you!!!!
Love when I get notifications for HFA. Always great fishing and amazing cinematography.
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoy the videos
Truely some really fishy looking water, it a beautiful river. Deff appreciate the effort you guys put in to this video, and georgia too that's cool. As always great great video ty much can't wait to see more.
Thank you! Next one comes out on Friday, and i promise there is some fish in it. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video guys! Can't always win. The struggle can be real!
I like your B role shots
Thank you!!
Great video and trip! I love that mountain fishing! Good job!
My favorite trout fishing was in Georgia. I could hit the DH spots on the Hooch at lunch or go up and hit the blue lines around Blue Ridge or Dahlonega for wilds on weekends with more drive time. Awesome fishing and good people on NGTO
Yep north Georgia is awesome. Can’t wait to go back!
@@hardmanfishing Try camping at Cooper Creek campground and hitting the creeks around there. You will not be disappointed.
Dang what a grind that must have been! That looks like New Zealand not the Appalachians, what a stunning piece of water! It’s a shame you guys couldn’t catch fish but I can’t wait for the next episode, you always pull it off in the end!
It’s okay we caught some in the next episode! Thanks for watching

Thank you!
Looks Like a normal fishing day in up here North Ga.
What 6 people could find in this video to 👎🏽 is Way beyond me! Everything I witnessed here was exceptionally beautiful, clear clean water, deep pools & falls, so many pockets for trout to hold in. Almost identical twin to Rock Run Crick, Lycoming co. PA, which holds giant holdover browns & Rainbows. I’ve caught 16” natives here & the water temp never climbs above 60*. Tight lines guys 👍😃🇺🇸
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. Haters are gonna hate
I would guess the 👎 came from dude's attitude towards the fish they caught. I've never watched these guys before....probably won't watch another one.
prob came from an abundance of north ga natives that know that wild brown trout dont exist in our waters yet this clown will swear by it
@@user-ce5bs4rj4w There are absolutely wild browns in the mountains of North Georgia lol you're just ignorant.
Jeez Louis. Up north that time of year you have to be wearing snowshoes to get to a stream
Epic video! I know what those mountains feel like getting into and out of streams. I have said more than once, “I do not like this at all!” Good effort though! Look forward to part two!
I said that multiple times on this trip but I think it made it more memorable. Thanks for watching!
Wow you go to the most beautiful places and fish very responsibly, bravo
Wild Trout in North Georgia are like Big Foots....
You mean skunk apes
Skunk apes and big foots!! But watch the next video on Friday, we catch a few big foots (or big feet?)
Wild trout all over ne ga just got to work for them
You can find them, but they are usually tiny and a good walk off the beaten path
Georgia streams are a humbling experience at times! Great vid and I hope y’all will have better luck in the next vid! If you want recommendations for streams to fish in Georgia feel free to message me.
The next vid I titled “redemption” for a reason! But I think we started to figure them out. Just took a few days out there to get a lay of the land. We’re going to be making many more trips to sort of follow up to these first 2 videos
Yes! I am actually headed through North Georgia....could you share what are the best streams?
Welcome to North Georgia fellas! It’s not for the timid. 😂
Yep we leaned that pretty quickly 😂😂
Really enjoyed watching. Thanks so much for filming your trip!
You guys ought to get a couple wading staffs for those deep crossings, they're worth it!
Honestly didn’t know what I was getting into when I hiked into that gorge. Of course I also don’t own a wading staff... definitely something to consider. Thanks for watching!
Need to come on over to the Chattooga and hit it. Been catching some nice Brookies lately
Would like to do that, Zac. Will be headed to GA soon. What are the best spots on the Chattooga??
Bruhhhh
Beautiful video, looks like a strenuous experience! I know you guys didnt have trouble sleeping at night! Lol. But still nothing like trying virgin waters! I know you had to work for those fish, but still was worth the trip!
You are correct! Slept like a baby. Thanks for watching!
I regularly fish North Georgia and I love it, especially when I get the limit. Not the greatest trout fisher and I keep it wal mart simple. Treacherous terrain and steep climbing combined with the body's resistance to the current is the perfect recipe for soreness the next day or two. Lol
Don't worry I was sore the next day too! Thanks for watching. We have 2 more Georgia videos coming out next week if you enjoyed this one!
Lovely nature, I wish I was there :)
You fish the Teseendee Creek, its just about the NC state line, got monster browns
We have to fail . To become better..
It keeps us Humble .. Great work Guys👊
Yessir! Thanks for watching Frankie!

I'm now subscribed
Thank you!!
Hello, I'm called the (Eight Rodd Banditt) 🎣 but my real name is Cory, thanks to you for the videos! 🎣
Good to have some local knowledge. I've never really worked that hard for a trout. Mostly just have to weave through heavy brush.
I know it's an old one but how did you know that first brookie was a stocker so fast? Small round head?
A rock climbing video with some trout fishing 🎣.
Really though I totally applaud your effort...honestly fishing the way it is 90% of the time. You have got to go through it to get to them.
I live in south fl and I want to go to Georgia and catch some trout for the first time
Do it!! I highly recommend it

What weight genesis rod is that and how are you liking it ?????
Is that the chattooga or the west fork of it?
I am actually headed through North Georgia....could you share what are the best streams?
Thought I heard a Banjo 😆
Try the hiawassee river it has very big trout brown and rainbow trout
