    I think it's one of best Guitars I had in my life. And it's still by my side after 43 years

      Had one as a kid around 78-80. Sold it around then. Always wished I had kept it. Butt, at 59, I have one on the way. Excited to hold one again.

    Beautiful. I have one I bought in ‘79; made that same year. I still have it. Plays great. 😉

    I just picked one up. It sounds and plays unbelievable. It outplays my Martin D-10! And it’s 43 years old. I say if you can get one just get it. It’ll last forever.

    Ralph, that's a beautiful original composition, beautifully played on a lovely, crisp guitar. I too am mad for old FGs. My efforts picked up again with the purchase of an FG-345, but there are so many stars across the Yamaha FG galaxy.

    I have the identical guitar, and year in immaculate condition, fingerboard hardly a scratch, 2.5 mm at 12th fret - and it sounds as good as any Yam I've had. I added a bone saddle. and ebony pins and have played worse Martins. Also have the FG336SB - hard to tell which I prefer - 336 has less top end but deeper bass - maybe . . . not bad for £100!

    I just bought one a lady got 41 years ago and never learned to play it. It's in its original case and like new just needs new strings. I had a fg 365 I got as a bday in 1982 it came from another lady who didn't learn to play it. Someone stoled it 5 years ago

    • @buddhasboheme

      Hallo Sebastian, danke erstmal ! Ralph

      Hi Robbie, as far as I know, the first FG with a cutaway was the FG-420C, built between 1985 and 1989. The first two years with the Dove Logo, switched to Leaf Logo in 1987.

      Thank you !! I use Elixir light-medium .012-.056 strings on this guitar. On another FG-340 I use Elixir custom light .011-.052, more for strumming.

    Just got a Yamaha CJ 818 sb that sounds similar to this.
    I'm going to change strings to a heavier gauge to move the massive sound board.
    What kinda strings are you using?

    How does a laminated top guitar sound that good?

    • @macuse2008
      @macuse2008 Před rokem

      Because it’s really ply wood built differently than laminate today. Do a little research it’s a really well made guitar

    • @bswann3469
      @bswann3469 Před rokem

      I’ve noticed that laminate top guitars have less propensity for belly bulging I have a fg411 that has no belly bulging or bridge lifting what do you think

    • @bswann3469
      @bswann3469 Před rokem

      The sweetest sounding guitar I’ve ever played was a 1978 L5 which I think is all solid wood
