Thanks for the video !! I’m on hemodialysis and switching to PD in a month or 2 so just trying to get as much information as I can, specially this one ☝️ fluid overload, I get fluid in my lungs 🫁 very easy and get shortness of breath very easy as well , so trying to see if this is a good option for me as Pd is done daily !!!

yes, hopefully, it will help remove more fluids since you have a bit more control. However, also watch your sodium, sugars as they can make you more thirsty and consume more fluids. Watching the amount of fluid intake until you are able to get to a true dry weight is important to avoid those symptoms of fluid overload you have been experiencing.

Be very careful using the 4.25 % dextrose. We are fluid overload now and our PD nurse told us today it can cause you membrane to thicken

It's possible that there is fibrin or some other blockage from the infection or other issues where they may need to try to flush your catheter at the clinic or possibly replace your PD catheter to allow your infection to clear and place a new catheter later. Please talk to your PD nurse and Nephrologist at your clinic / hospital.

Does pd hurt what is drain pain

LIFE. OF NATURE My apologies about the delay in response to your question. In general, PD treatments do not have pain under normal circumstances. Some folks experience “drain pain” when starting PD while the body and the peritoneal cavity adjusts to the treatment and suction of the machine during the drain phase of the exchanges during the treatment period. The exchanges are when you drain out the old solution, excess fluids and waste and get filled with fresh solution to continue the peritoneal dialysis treatment process. Reply back if you have other questions. Thanks
