Definitely miss hearing the players explaining their own worst possible
Same here
I agree. I do like the new format, but it would be better if they each recorded their own part.
I prefer it done this way.
@meteorain108 This right here is the right idea. Combine the best elements of both.
In CGB's defense, he is a "control" player.
The absolute best part of this show is the feeling of sitting in a room with you guys, and the casual and silly discourse between everyone. I completely respect your right to creative experimentation, but the new intro feels a little too overproduced and takes away from that feeling. Also just personally dont like seeing big plays spoiled ahead of time. Regardless, love the show and will forever be tuning in on weekends. And thanks always for the endless content.
Individual intros > narration
I do perfer each person explaining what the decks do and what they hope to do with it. Like that ur testing new things out!
Just seems less personable having cgb cutting in randomly while they are talking to explain the cards. Maybe be better to have them explain the deck in the cut aways.
I was about to come and say exactly the same 😊
Ditto
Same. But always good to experiment. The production quality felt better too. Honestly, prefer the personal touch though.
I agree. The constant cut-away to CGB explaining the cards feels jarring and clinical. Support the attempt to try new things, but I think this one is a miss.
I feel like y’all were worried we would revolt without CGB so y’all did the intro differently. This is not a complaint. I would watch you guys regardless. But I way prefer the original intro where everyone describes their worst possible. Love you all!
I’m glad you’re trying new things, but I do have to say I prefer the players explaining the decks themselves.
Don’t spoil your own show!
Yeah, don’t put a spoiler right in the beginning. Ruins the watching experience. The whole new intro needs some work tbh.
Agree with the general consensus, new intro takes a lot away from the show. Great gameplay as always
I liked the old intro. It felt more natural that everybody explain their decks to each other.
Really dislike the spoilers at the beginning ..., just giving some Feedback.
EDIT: I mean the foreshadowing part at 0:12-0:33. Not the usual worst possible intro. Though I do like the old style more.
Womp womp
They aren't spoilers, it's worst possible..... It's the name of the show
Yeah, and besides that, it seems this narration style maybe he's trying a "professional" feel, I get it - - but it sucks the soul out of the video, esp when nobody in the intro is laughing or bantering between introing their worst possibles. And there's no fourth wall break anymore, nobody looking straight to the camera, straight at us! Idk man😅😂
@@stormtrooperjeepjk I mean the part between 0:12-0:33
@@Guevon_Pajaro Yeah completely agree - much rather hear all the guys interact naturally. Not a fan of the voice over
Blake threw the game when he didn't archon the dog.
When he targeted Ben who had disposable tokens I was very frustrated.
At the end that happened again when he resurected glowing one instead of archon
@@milanendemann673 What moment are you referring to?
@@milanendemann673 He could not reanimate it as it wasn't milled that turn.
Yeah he should have targeted Gina with the Archon either time, instead of the table being scared of doing anything to Gina again 🙄
It was refreshing to have CGB sitting one out (no ill intent, just a good variation). I like the pre-recorded sponsor intro, and the outro. But as others have said, I missed having the players talk about there worst possible. The good thing with the intro, was a clear view of the cards. Well done with the video overall, and glad to see you guys experiment with stuff^^
Blake makes the worst possible deal. A dog that is dead can't attack you the next turn 😂😂
No narration, more shea and ben!
I prefer the old format.
I like CGB reading the plain text of the commanders in voiceover, and I don’t mind y’all increasing the production value of your show, but I’m with the general consensus that we like hearing the “worst possible” conversation from the players themselves.
Similarly, I liked the CGB recap/what-if bit at the end, but I kinda missed each player naming a card of the game. I don’t feel as strongly about that one as the opening, though.
Not slowing down the voltron commander and instead making that dumb alliance with it hurted me physically by just watching
Yea when he targeted ben who had 1/1 tokens he could sac instead of dogmeat was so dumb
I think the cgb explanation would be cool for explaining loops and/or complex rule interactions
Excellent idea!
Yeah, maybe pop it in the middle where needed, it's fine. And the new animations are cool. Just keep the old intro. Good idea!
37:40 Kami taps for only a single color, I think Shea could have picked black and used her untapped lands and arcane signet to get the green pips she needed but she would have been tapped out, not that it mattered.
Couldn’t Blake have flashbacked the dread return, returning the agent of treachery to gains control of dogmeat? After the swift foot boots were destroyed ofc
Can we please stick to what we know and love if its not too hard for you guys at the worst possible commander show, this show is great the way its been for a while!
The new intro takes a lot away from the show.
When Dogmeat was revealed, a lot of people said he wasn’t a Voltron commander, but rather a go wide Aura commander. Yet, every time I see him, he ends up big enough to kill God.
Props to Blake for letting Dogmeat live: avid Commander players will understand just how easy it is to shut down a Voltron Commander by nuking it 2-3 times, but that would've just completely taken Gina out of the game. Let's all keep in mind that Blake, Shae, Ben, CGB, and Gina are usually trying to show off a fun and splashy game, and instantly neutering the poor Dogmeat would've likely knocked one player out from the get-go. It takes a big man, with a humble heart, to make that play and let another player have fun!
That being said, as a PSA to Voltron players out in the wild (not talking about Gina here), please have backup strategies in your Voltron decks. If you sit down with a deck that simultaneously 1-shots players with a single creature, but also folds like wet paper when that creature is killed once or twice, I've been practicing a song on the world's smallest violin for you, and my Swords to Plowshares is probably aimed at your face most games. Most people don't have as big of a heart as Blake, and will not even blink at the idea of making sure your Commander costs 14 to cast, because your deck is built to shut down counterplay with Hexproof/Indestructible/Shroud and such. Voltron basically presents a choice to the table: Kill my Commander immediately and make sure I can't play the game, or I will win.
I say it every time, I love Gina's energy at the table! She's always so sweet and nice, then punches you for 142 damage.
Not a fan of the VO, I liked the feeling of being in the room with y’all
That was a fun episode but I agree with the sentiment about the intro and outro, it was interesting but took away from the charm of the crew talking about their stuff.
Maybe instead of CGB talking, the crew can talk about their own stuff and see if that splits the difference.
I prefer the original intro and outro.
I like the idea of VO for misplays/etc.
I don't comment much but watch a lot. As an old man returning to MTG, you guys have the best format of all commander shows. I dislike the majority of the popular ones for a variety of reasons and the number one and two reasons I think you guys are the best are:
1. It's not over-produced (i.e. watching feels like hanging out with friends playing MTG)
2. You guys explain the cards and what they do.
K.I.S.S.
If you stick with the new format, I won't quit watching...it will simply be less enjoyable and unique.
Regardless, thanks for taking the time to share with us.
Love watching yall play!!!
I always look forward for the Sunday episode CGC.
I adore Gina and love the episodes where she shows up. She is so sweet while she smashes everyone's faces 😂
Liked the quick outro CGB recap/analysis of each player's game.
Gina's cute passive aggressiveness will always be terrifying. She doesn't forget.😼
But we love Gina, nothing against it. It's still scary 😅😂😂
Great episode, still our quintessential group of friends!
Count me in the club of "I like what you're trying with the new intro, but please let the players voice over their own cards."
While i love CGB, him taking over the voice-over describing each of the decks in a multiplayer game feels a little bit like those board game experiences where that one player tells the rest of the table what the best move to make is and what their play should be.
Such a fun energy this episode!
Dogmeat at blake all i hear is the latin music of the boss comming back to life and a second health bar showing up xD
I loved the New worst possible explanation! But... Blake could reanimate his agent to gain control of the doggo!!!!
very nice, love the new formula, is very easy to understand
That intro took so much soul out of this channel. It looks like most of the comments would agree as well. We like CovertGoCrew, this just makes it feel like every other EDH gameplay channel with 0 personality.
Thats a cool new intro style! really interesting, cant wait to see how it turns out with more time and honing of this style! is fun to try new stuff
the only thing i would change is the highlights of the cards being white, sometimes is a little hard to see, maybe a bright red works better
I hate this intro. It's okay if your busy cbg
I like the game summary at the end but everyone should still go around and do the card of the game. The table talk about the game is what's important.
Even the archon is disappointed with Blake's decision to attack ben. 😅
Please do the personal intros.
Everyone explaining what they're trying to do is what sets this show apart.
Love the personalities and want to see them.
Such a good looking cast.
New intro format is dope, but fire that voice actor. ;)
I like how the question was asked " whos the biggest threat" when you literally have a one shot commander dog...
Kami only taps for one color o -o)> fyi so it woulda been 16 green and Liliana wouldn't have been in play
Yea, in theory she should have just picked black and used her remaining lands/arcane signet to get the green pips needed.
No questions!
Damn… I got all the precons but dogmeat… looks fun in action
Cool idea, but I prefer the old way of players introducing their own decks, and their worst possible ways to win, as part of their intro 😁
The surveil lands are great. I wish the Scry lands could have been fetchable
Ave, True to Caesar! P.s. not a fan of the new opening format. I love hearing my favorite Magic players explain what theyre gonna try to do every game. Still ove yall though! ❤️❤️
I actually like the new intro and commenting/explanation at the beginning and in the outro. I do agree that the spoiler at the beginning is unnecessary, I would rather experience that during the gameplay.
28:24 the look in Shea's eyes. Haha.
Shea's face at 28:24 made me have to pause the video to catch my breath fron laughing 😭
The new intro probably helps people new to the game understand the cards a bit but i personally prefer the pregame banter
Alright, I didn't want to, but I'll add to the constructive criticism that I very much enjoyed the old intro and players discussing their decks amongst each other and with us. I thought you had a very solid intro before, I'm not sure I can say I would even be able to get used to this intro.
the foretell of a big play at the beginning is cool, because it gets people hyped about the episode, but I mos def miss the oldschool introduction of the players and their decks! It felt more like the wors possible show... it felt like I was playing with my firends. Nontheless, I understand the experimentation, just trying to give my feedback as a usual viewer of the channel! All the best!
When your dog¡s attack feels like a Kame-Hame-Ha right into your face :D
I like the new format, but, as someone said, the chat between you telling the worst possible you can do to each other, the comments to that, etc... was one of the best parts of the show. Maybe a combination between the two formats is the way to go? Just a thought.
Love this new content ❤
I've been a fan of the show since it started on CGB's main channel, never missed an episode. I almost turned it off halfway through the new intro. Hopefully this isnt a permanent change.
Get it Gina! Well played
A really great game! I'd prefer no spoilers, but otherwise, I enjoyed the video!
I like the cold open with Gina telling ben how she was about to ruin his day and I like the prerecorded ad reads. I thought that the editing was top notch but I do feel like missing the interaction between the players at the beginning is not my favorite. I did however like the little snippets at the end about the twists and turns of the game.
Did I hear "mana burger"....does someone know Keith Green!?!?
Great game as always, would rather the old format in regards to the commentary. I always prefer to hear the players themselves talk and explain their decks.
With the CGB voiceovers on the stack...................... Dovin's Veto.
Love cgb. But, I like hearing the players do their own introz
i must say i see people liked the old way, but i enjoyed much more the CGB intro , with the card , the explanation of the card and the good things that it can do, and then u guys get into the game... feels more , professional/clean/smooth, if that makes sense? keep up the great show goes, i would love to see some patrons or fans of the show pop on , play some games? idk think about it. EDIT) i just finished and i feel like ben was targeted alot by that good boy.. just saying.
13:48 There can only be one!
Regarding the new intro, I liked it but it got me off wherever a player got cut after saying the commander that they were going to use to the CGB explanation. The explanation of the deck was very good but I would like it if it were like a whole segment after the players introduced themselves or before. It could start with the presentation of the commanders with a whole section with CGB explaining them. Like (In today's game we have a fight between Commander 1piloted by {....}, commander 2 piloted by {}...... and after the commander presentation we can have the worst possible of each deck. Either way I like that you guys are trying new things. Keep the good work.
It was pretty clear from the intro who was winning that game, lol. I agree with most people, the voice-over for deck descriptions is not my favorite.
NEW FORMAT GREAT!
(500+ LIKES ON VIDEO) + (only about 75 people with pee in their cereal) = WINNING 🐶
PS. Great Job Gina!
Yeah I miss everybody talking about their worst possible, but I understand if you wanna try new things to save time
Gina is always a badass XD
fyi ,winds of rath was HER ONLY BOARD WIPE IN THE DECK.. lol
Bit weird having cgb explain the commanders. Jarring
My wife had a Kai-zer-ian section
Fan of the more casual start, but I do like the voice over outro and a single card of the game rather than on e for every player.
Not a huge fan of the different intro, but maybe it'll grow on me. Noticed it a couple videos ago, I think Lantern Games address is supposed to be on Garfield Ave, not Garifeld.
Yikes guys you let the voltron deck get wayyyyy too far in this one 😅
Mantle of the Ancients tends to do that…
What is this? James Earl Jones is that you?
Great show today
Just fyi hermit druid does not work in this master strategy..... So if anyone thought of adding this it doesn't work like it seems
Miss the traditional intro style and explanations as well as the post-game, but still a great game (and a good dog)!
Since you mill your opponents too Shemimg Symmetry wouldn't be bad choice.
Nice!!!
New format is cool, I’ll be watching no matter what :) you guys are my favorite to watch, I’m always trying to channel my inner Ben
I like that you guys tried a new creative take on intro and card of the game, but it I don't like it as much as normal.
I mirror the sentiment felt in this comment section. I prefer the original intro and outro. Everyone is supposed to have a card of the game.
Yeah... fragile dogmeat list, but when there is no interaction....
Gina just crashing in with the best cold open in history
Shae not playing mothman with a mothman shirt is a crime
Current Scoreboard 🏆
🥇CGB: 32
🥈Shae: 24
🥉Blake: 22
😭Ben: 15
🥷Gina: 5
well definetly nice if you try something new.. but I would prefer if the cast would explain their own decks. the showcased cards on the screen are an upgrade though,
blake has dread return and he could get back archon right?
Love the show either way, but definitely prefer the old format for the intro
Shea seems like a really cool chick. Would def. love to play some commander with her and Ben.
CGB doing the commander read felt a bit disjointed a bit too harsh with the cuts
Appreciate you guys trying something new but I am not completely sold on the new intro, maybe a mix of old and new? Let everyone introduce their worst possible with the highlights on the cards being talked about?
