A Million Ways To Die In The West Movie Description:
Mild-mannered sheep farmer Albert Stark (Seth MacFarlane) feels certain that the Western frontier is trying to kill him, then he loses his girlfriend, Louise (Amanda Seyfried), to the town's most successful businessman. However, a beautiful, pistol-packing woman named Anna (Charlize Theron) rides into town and helps Albert find his inner courage. Then Stark must put his newfound bravery to the test when Anna's outlaw husband arrives with plans to plant him in an unmarked grave.
A Million Ways to Die in the West is a 2014 American Western black comedy film directed by Seth MacFarlane and written by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The film features an ensemble cast including MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, and Liam Neeson. The film follows a cowardly frontiersman who gains courage with the help of a female gunfighter and must use his newfound skills in a confrontation with her villainous outlaw husband.
Development for A Million Ways to Die in the West began while MacFarlane and co-writers Sulkin and Wild were watching Western movies during the development of Ted (2012). Casting was done between December 2012 and March 2013. Filming began on May 6, 2013, in various locations in New Mexico including Albuquerque and Santa Fe, and it concluded on August 9 that year. Joel McNeely composed the score.
A Million Ways to Die in the West was released on May 30, 2014, in the United States, and distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures. The film received mixed to negative reviews from critics, with criticism for its length, screenplay, humor and MacFarlane's performance and directing. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 7, 2014, and earned more than $15 million in home media sales.

Charlize laughing is making this movie watchable 😂
Those were some genuine ass reactions lmao. I don't know why I didn't mention that!
you know damn well seth probably half made the movie just to make out with Charlize. can't blame him.
@@MrHartApart Me too. Too bad she's a total nutbag
@@MrHartAparthe's working the system!
I like this movie
The Doc Brown cameo is always my favorite part of this, only because Seth owns the rights to the back to the future music and he absolutely wanted to utilize it.
It pissed me off that they gave that away in an ad.
That's cool. I didn't know that.
The science experiment is a classic when someone doesn't know the delorean
If I’m right he also owns one of the Delorians from the movie too
Forever a favorite movie to watch. Seth is so good at paying homage to things he loves while still being hilarious and adding his spin on it.
"That is our mayor, he is dead" my god... i can't stop laughing.. 🤣🤣🤣
This is an underrated gem of Seth MacFarlane's. It got shit on a lot when it came out, but I find this movie funnier than the Ted movies.
I love how you keep putting yourself in the movie! I've never seen a reacter do that before.
Same. This make mellverse stand out from other youtubers
Jamie French
It's not easy. You gotta time travel, dimension hop, try to not stand out amongst the rest, and react accordingly.
It's gone nuclear
watching to see where he puts himself is the best part
"TAKE YER HAT OFF BOY! THAT'S A DOLLAR BILL!"
💸🎩💸🎩💸🎩
"u know what cholera is"
"the black shit"
💀
lol@@XxThePhantomFreezexX
The editor needs a raise. The clips they insert are great
100% I also love how they edit him in different areas of a scene lol it makes me laugh every time lol x
An editor inserting clips? Now THAT is innovative!
@@SammySprinklers69 touché haha
Rumor has it, they gave Liam Neeson a different script than the rest of the cast. He acted under the impression that this was a serious western, giving him an air of menace and threat that stands out. It's also why the only time anything goofy happens around Clinch, he is either off screen or facing directly away from the camera.
That would be funny, but I don’t buy that. Especially the part where Ryan Reynolds randomly shows up at the Saloon fight. Also, when he’s smacking Charlize Theron he asks who the guy was and she says, “Mark Twain” and he just replies as if he didn’t understand who Mark Twain was, that was clearly a joke. That would have been a serious scene, snaking a woman around. Why would they slip in a joke like that?
He said he'd only do the movie if he could keep his Irish accent, so that implies he knew exactly what it was.
Thought it was partially a joke on Liam Neeson as a cowboy, like that cutaway gag from "Family Guy".
I seriously doubt Liam Neeson turned up to act in a movie written, directed and starring Seth Macfarlane, and thought it was a serious western 😂 come on dude. Especially considering he also appears in Family Guy and Ted 2.
The part where Seth McFarland rejects the weed from the Native Americans and call him a nerd he says “Mila Kunis” in the movie they translated to “okay fine” in American
The cameos by them selves make this movie great! specifically the Doc Brown one.
Giovanni Ribisi doing that hip roll dance is always funny as hell
This movie is so underrated! Glad you made time for this one.
I’m living for you saying “what is going on with this movie?!” like the movie isn’t about a bunch of ways to die 😂❤
These two leads have great chemistry. I've never watched this movie but now I want to just for Seth and Charlize
This reaction was a surprise, but a welcome one. I’m glad people are finally getting around to this movie. I love it sooo much. Great memories with my sister laughing our asses off to this
Movies like these, about 90% of every line in the film is supposed to be a joke. Love that with this movie 😅
That doc brown cameo was fire! 😂😅
12:32 The fact all 3 of you reacted the same way! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Your mother died this afternoon” and just the sheer casualness of it cracks me up 🤣
One thing I can say about Seth MacFarlane is he knows how to get some great cameos in his movies
Idk if it's you or your editor but someone's doing a great job implementing you into the movies you react to.
12:30 The self-insert here was perfect 😂🤣
The editing at the 12;33 skull ice moment was sublime mello. Innovative editing. You would have been great in this movie
Wow that christopher reeve line was dark and damn sure hilarious 😂
Yeah that joke needs more credit
Too dark
I don't think it was a joke, I think it was just an example for a question.
Random fun fact, the "mustache" song is an actual song written around that time period. Yeah, the theatrical cut is probably better just cuz they cut down the extra stuff from the original
When he was explaining everything bad about the west in that bar, including the mayor's dead body explanation. I died 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you, I have been waiting for people to react to this. Such a ridiculous and funny movie, and pretty much the same cast as Ted
The timing was perfect when you said you wanna be in a remake of Wild Wild West and Giovanni Ribisi immediately says “THATS HORRIBLE!” 😂😂😂
Yeah this version has quite a bit more extra scenes than the normal version. Its abit grosser too.
I hate how people don't notice Alex Borstein's physical attractiveness. She seriously keeps it up perfectly, all to nobody's acknowledgement. From MadTV to this movie.
You hate that people don't find her attractive? How stupid is that? Who are you to tell others what they should and shouldn't find attractive?
@@maozedong8370 I said it goes unnoticed, not that everyone should find her attractive. How stupid are you that you misinterpret something like that unless you didn't read it all the way and wrongfully replied because attention means that much to you.
Love this movie. I don’t know if anyone said it yet but the DeLorean they used in this is actually a replica that Seth owns.
This movie has always been a favorite of mine. I used to pop it in the DVD player and fall asleep to it almost every night, back in the day.
I LOVE this movie, but I think this is the rare time I would suggest watching the “Theatrical Version” first, the pacing is much better and the jokes are better. The “Unrated Version” is fun for people who already saw the original, and it adds extra story plots and jokes for fans. However, the theatrical version is much more polished and as I mentioned earlier, it flows better.
i'll never get tired of this movie lmao
I love this movie! So under rated! Thanks for the reaction 😂
Thank you for this reaction video.
Your laughter when Seth got hit with the plate during the target practice scenes was hilarious 😂 I had to go back and watch it several times 🤣🤣. Your reactions to this movie made it so fun to watch. Thank you 👏😁
Shout out to your editor too. Always an amazing job 👏😁
“They had cocaine back then?”
IT WAS EVERYWHERE
Ever played RDR2
Reason they used to not smile in photos was because they weren't instant so to stand there and smile for nothing was crazy.
such an underrated movie in reaction terms. This movie is HILARIOUS and still holds up almost a decade later.
I’m mad I’ve never seen this version before this shit off the hook 😂
OMG.. i have watched this movie a dozen times. didn't know there was an uncensored version.
Same here. I can already tell by watching it here that the deleted parts were probably a good idea to be deleted. 😜 But i want to watch the unrated version one now. Too curious.
"I heard you fart once. It was like "Fuh-fwwaaaaaa!" XD!
The ice block scene was great. XD "That went south so fast!!!!"
The gopher and high Albert, XD "He knows! He knows what this is! I don't want to join! I don't want to join up!!!!"
Alberts dad is hilarious.
"You're LATE!"
"For WHAT?!!!"
"....Fair enough."
"If I die out there, you two could, just once? Switch seats."
".....Fuck off!"
"Theres no tooth fairy, you idiot! Now clean up that horse shit!"
(Lmao, little Albert just dropping the pillow with a "are you fucking kidding me?"face.
Gilbert Gottfried as Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest castings I've ever seen. RIP.
Great use of "Reservation Dogs"!
They had cocaine in Coca-Cola back in the day, right up to the 1950s
It's True
20:09 didn't even have time to recover from the first eeew😂
So glad you did this, one of the funniest movies out there! Honestly 😅
@21:01 me and my family have quoted that mans one line since the movie came out and only recently did my dumbass just find out that dude is Ewan McGregor.
Hello from Germany ! Love your videos ❤
this has become my new comfort video man , no matter how many times i watch it i always laugh.
Man, I’ve been waiting on this. This is one of my favorite movies
I completely forget about Ryan Reynolds cameo😂😂😂
"They're bringing in a big block of ice tomorrow. That'll be pretty cool" turned out to be prophetic. That was my favorite scene. I love that Final Destination shit
Definitely the extended edition. I saw a lot new scenes along side you man, great reaction 🤙🏻
14:59 Love how it’s like he actually feels it 😆
“See ya later smeagle” that shit had me dead with her big ole eyes lmao
“I’m not the hero, I’m the guy in the crowd laughing at the hero’s shirt” 🤣
Just discovered your channel. One of the best reactions I've ever seen! LMFAO that you watched this one! It ain't Blazing Saddles, but it's a decent comedy film. Great reaction! ⚡️🔥🤙🤣🤣🤣
Ultimately useless fact but the “drink and horse” line is nothing but a reference to drinking and driving. Heavy drinking culture was mostly helped to disappear by the car taking the place of horses. Horses are smart, and, most of the time, knew their way home (and often left without you by un-hitching themselves with their mouths, the Amish still have this issue) I remember hearing stories about how my great grandfather would take produce out to town to sell and would fall asleep in his wagon while the horse trotted home.
“HAHA! Jinx! You owe me one of those gold ingots.” Subbed
Mell thinking parts in this movie are historically accurate is just funny
They did have cocaine back them. In fact it was an over the counter medication and could be found in products like chewing gum for tooth pain. Coca Cola is named that because the original formula they used for the first 20 years contained coca leaves.
“TAKE YOUR HAT OFF BOY, THAT’S A DOLLAR!” 😂
EDP wishes he was born that year
& R Kelly
Great reaction Mello! 👍🏿
Hey man, your content is always a pleasure!
You dancing across the screen had me going. That was the best thing i have ever seen!!!
you are like the only youtuber to do this movie thank you
21:15 'What are sugared butter shavings?'
They are butter shavings with sugar. You're welcome.
I’m SOOOO glad you threw in a Deadman reference!!! 🤘🏼
I gotta hunt down the uncensored version because I love this film, and I swear. I haven't seen half these moments
Just started getting into your movie reviews and I’m getting some serious Hannibal Buress vibes 😂 keep it up my guy! Love the joy you’re bringing to these movies
I actually havent seen the unrated version. I need to get it! I think this is a severely unrated movie. Its so much fun!
Yes! One of my all time favorites!
Did nobody recognize Cheddar from 8 mile?
Definitely still one of my favorites. Many of the jokes still make me lol. I don’t care that it’s long.
I watched this last night, but it was the Theatrical Cut. I've owned it for years, but it's been a while since my last viewing. I didn't even realize there was an Extended Cut.
I'm sure I'm not the first to mention this, but Liam being in a western goes back to a family guy joke that Seth made about how funny it would be for liam to be in a western with his funny Irish accent. which eventually led to him getting the role.
“A mustache” is gold
This movie feels like a live action spin-off special of Family guy.
Phenomenal movie - exactly what I expected from Seth.
She said "wa bah dan," I believe it's Mandarin for bastard!! 😂
Thank you for doing this movie, one of my favorites 🎉
I've seen this movie many times. I didn't realize there was an unrated version with extra scenes. I will have to find it. Love this movie!

While not all tribes scalped people, some of those who did prized the scalps of women and children since they were supposed to be the most protected members of the tribe.
it's not just pretty cool, It's one of the best most hilarious movies that's been made ^^
This movie was way better than I thought it would be when I got it as a gift
Mell, thanks to you, more CZcamsrs react to this movie. I feel proud for some reason 😊🥰
The pacing may be better in the theatrical release but I'm glad you watched the unrated cut cause it's got jokes that are very "reactable." The appendix surgery, for one, but Bill Maher picking up the 12 y/o is one of my favorite gags, but you need all the previous scenes with her. All of her scenes and the entire dating montage were cut out in the theatrical cut. Also missing in the theatrical cut is dad telling him that his mother died, so the funeral scene just kinda comes out of nowhere.
The way you edit yourself in is creative as fuck.
The fact your editor put in a reservation dogs clip has made my night always love to see things being used from it great show
was gonna say this too . love that show
@@cupnudeless such a gem of a show, kinda upset it's ended but better to be short and sweet than being dragged out for like 8 seasons, can't wait to see the new season doesn't come to the uk till oct 14th lmao ;o;
And a clip from Dead Man, which also had Gary Farmer
Love the shirt!!! Yes this movie is hilarious.
The mustache song is actually a song from the Old West period, written by Stephen Foster, who also wrote The Camptown Ladies and Way Down Upon The Swanee River.
It's awesome when you put yourself into the scene!
I did not even know there was an unrated version. Saw many clips here i never saw before and many cameos i never u were part of the original film. Now i want to see the unrated version. 🤣 The other one was gold.
For as long as I live, I will never understand people who complain about a movie being "too long". Like how is that a problem? "Hey, I was down for having fun for 100 minutes, but no longer!"
If you notice something, Ewan McGregor and Liam Nesson participated in Star Wars, both. And McFarlane is a huge fan of SW saga.
The "Oh my" bits got me every time
George Takei is a blessing
Nice to see someone else enjoying this movie, as someone who liked it when it came out. :)
Albert (Seth) needed to be that self-aware and aware to the point of fourth-wall-breaking because so many people have built up and romanticized the "Old West" that it's ridiculous.
The ice reaction was gold
There was some shit with my uncle... 🤣🤣🤣
