Rav4 Camper Conversion | Rig Tour

My focus with this channel is to help women get on the road and I really like finding women who have built a camper with the vehicle they already have. In this video, I get to share a Toyota Rav4 build! This build features a bed platform with storage underneath, a cooler, a kitchen cabinet, and storage drawers.

I love how adaptive and inventive folks can be! Particularly loved her hinge under her bed to get access to gear underneath her bed. Very smart. Also, appreciated how she mentions it's a work in progress! I think that's the key to vanlife. You don't have to get everything right the first time. And take note folks on a limited budget .. you don't have to heat your whole rig... an electric blanket is an excellent economical solution to getting through cold weather. I lived in my gen 2 manual rav4 for a year with the passenger seat and back passenger removed for a bed, no nearly as nice as this!!

Thanks Courtney for sharing your rig! You got all the things I would get, extra bedding, air pump, heating blanket(they prewarm the bed so nice! big solar generator,(I’d have to protect it from a “flying spill!’ Some times I have the dumbest luck). You inspire me to just do it! Thanks Joni!

I was considering a RAV4 but they are Uni-body (no frame) and not good off road. Not sure if that’s ok or not.

The older ones (pre-2000) with AWD are surprisingly good off road. But yeah, they aren't trucks and so modifications are quite limited.

You started by saying you are interested in helping women get on the road. As someone who’s been watching your videos regularly for a few years and is not a woman I think you should know that men also find value in your work. Why discriminate.

How is this discriminating? Some women might watch her videos and be inspired to take up car camping as a result, and that is her motivation… as there’s notably less women making these types of videos. It’s also fine for you to take inspiration from them regardless.
