2002 Western Conference Semifinals Game 3, May 10, 2002 | Great games by both Kobe and Shaq after a disappointing home loss in game 2 at the hands of the Spurs. After an 8-20 shooting first half, Kobe came out in the second half looking to let the game come to him while getting others involved. He shot 7-11 in the second half, including 5-5 in the 4th quarter, to total 31 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Shaq was much better in game 3 after a quiet 19 points with just 7 rebounds in the game 2 loss, pouring in 22 points to go along with 15 boards while playing through finger and ankle issues. The game was tight all the way until late in the 4th where the Lakers would eventually pull away.

The Western conference finals was the finals during that 3peat! Kobe deserves way more credit than he gets. There’s an agenda to paint Kobe as just a tag along player. He was the best 2 way player in the league!

Kobe saved shaq numerous times from 2000 to 2002 everytime in the playoffs against the spurs and kings. Everytime. Sure kobe needed shaq but shaq definitely needed kobe lol.
